After launching the game and before I even get to see the title screen I'm confronted with the "couldn't connect" screen, when I try to get the game to manually connect I also get the screen instantaneously. It's like the game gives up on connecting before it even attempts it.

I'm getting this too. The game won't authorize any of my DLC (it tells me to log in with the account I bought them with), and clicking the 'Connect to EA' button on the Main Menu gives me a message about not being able to detect an Internet connection. I thought it might be Origin related, but I tried logging in with another Origin game (Kingdoms of Amalur), and just as fast as ME3 had rejected my connection, KoA had connected and authorized my DLC and was ready for play.

I'm using Windows 7 x64.

Apparently there are several games having this issue, as detailed HERE. No idea when this'll be fixed, though.

I was really hoping that EA would have this fixed by now, since today is the beginning of the weekend challenge... Disappointing.
