How to change attack animations (for female unarmed)?

After playing a female monk, I was a tad disappointed that the female unarmed attack animations were a bit awkward, and weren't as hilariously ostentatious as the Jackie Chan-esque animations of male unarmed combat animations.  So doing a bit of research, I've found that there are few mods (and none which work) on the NWN2 vault to change attack animations, but I did come across this:

nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/PlayCustomAnimation

I would be completely satisfied with just replacing female unarmed attack animations with the male counterparts, but unfortunately, the article is not very informative at all.  Could anyone inform me on what I must do?

Male and female models use different skeletons, so they couldn't use each others' animations. Otherwise it'd just be a matter of copying the male versions and renaming them to match the female naming conventions.

PlayCustomAnimation is a script function that allows you to make a creature play one of the existing animations for that creature type. It won't actually create any new animations, and it won't make creatures play other creatures' animations.

So, hopeless endeavor? At least without the arduous task of creating custom animations?

What about if I wanted to replace an attack animation with another? Like if I wanted to replace one of the normal attacks or the cleave animation with the animation for whirlwind attack?

As long as you use another of the female animations, you can make a copy of it in the override folder (or in a HAK pack for a specific module) and rename it to replace the old animation. The game uses certain naming conventions to figure out which animations to run for each event type.

There will be several sets of female animations that use specific codes in the GR2 names; HHF (human, halfling, elf, plane-touched, genasi females), DDF (dwarf females), GGF (gnome females), and OOF (half-orc females). If you want all female playable races to use the 'new' (ie. recycled) animations then you'll have to do the rename-switcheroo for all of them.

The GR2 files are found in the 'data' folder in the game's main installation directory, inside the 'lod-merged' zip files. Player animations start with the letter P. The animations you want will be the unarmed versions. So a female human monk would use P_HHF_UNA_ animations, for instance.

There seems to be multiple kinds of "lod_merged" files, several versions including two per expansion I have (X1 and X2 I'm assuming is expansion). Anything I should know about regarding those or is my only concern the "lod_merged" zip file?

Ah, nevermind. Was a bit odd to figure out since basic attacks are labeled/numbered oddly, but I did what I wanted to do. Thanks a lot.
