As I am currently in the process of going through DA:O and DA2, (debating whether or not to put myself through the good times with Anders and play DA:A again for the possibility of a Velanna cameo only to meet the "other" Anders in DA2), and making my own definitive canon, I am interested to know if others have done/are doing this too and their decisions, specifically the Dark Ritual, because let's face it, it was probably the biggest decision of the series and possibly, (if done right), a real game changer in the whole Flemeth/Morrigan conflict.

Personally, I'm going for a mix of "good" and "bad" decisions so DA3 is as interesting as possible and full of cool characters, (I know I'm keeping Petrice alive this time Image IPB), while both the Warden and Hawke aren't atrociously evil.

I'm pro-Dark Ritual by the way, can't bring myself to let Alistair die for me, (or die for him, I've just realised Image IPB.)

From what I understand, is if you side with her she lives.  May have to play it that way once just to see it but in canon she will be dead.

Alister is dead, Morigan is dead (oooh I stabbed her good), Leliana and my warden hooked up and fought for elf rights. Hawke killed Anders and Issabella ran away.

From what I read you need to have an aggressive personality too, since there's a special dialogue option (like the one with Gasgard du Puis).

Yeah, I hate Petrice too, that's why I'm keeping her. Plus the whole anti-Qunari Chantry schism sounds really interesting.

You have to play aggressive Hawke in order to keep her alive- otherwise her templar friend doesn't believe you when you tell him to kill the hostages and you get the regular fight.and then you can't keep her alive later.

Ahh, now did you see Morrigan actually die? Oh noes, you saw her fall into the Eluvian. Morrigan'll be alive, just a tiny bit angry. You know, just average, run of the mill apocalypse-causing angry.

Alistair is king- I rule with him, dark ritual is done, saved vigil's keep, made a deal with the architect, romanced Fenris, supported the mages.

I suppose I don't really have any canon playthroughs, as I like to play very different characters each time.

Unfortunately, with DA2 we didn't have many race/class options, so I only played two characters.

I hate the Architect decision. Just because it's so difficult. I just have no idea which way to go with him. On one hand, he's really cool, but on the other, he may well be really evil. Part of me just wants to kill him and avoid all nastiness, but I really want to find out more about him. Hope they elaborate more on him in DA3, or at least in a future game, but even then, imagine how complicated all the many, many variables will be.

I kept Alistair and Loghain alive, Alistair is king with Anora, Morrigan had the OGB with Loghain, my Hawke sided with the mages, and I romanced Anders (which changes to Isabela, sometimes).

I've played (almost) every combination I could think of but there are some decisions I prefer over others (even if I don't do them every time) so I think of those as cannon. There are some things I just can't bring myself to do- like kill Connor or keep the anvil or side with Petrice.

I like to side with the Architect, not just because I found him the most intriguing NPC in awakening, but also because then Justice will attack me and I can kill him.  Justice annoyed me long before DA2 and the whole Anders/Jusice/Vengance thing.

Mini apocalypse pffft. I've been there done that the t-shirt is somewhere in the bottom of my closet.  Besides, I have no qualms about killing her again and again and again.  There are no words to quantify my hatred and loathing for that self serving, evil, uncaring, worthless, traiterous, ARGH I hate her.

I see no benefit in having one.

Though, just to be difficult, my DA2 canon is that Hawke was a serial killer who murdered his own mother, and then blew up the Chantry as misdirection. He never met Fenris or Isabela, he didn't ever deliver Flemeth's locket to the Dalish, and he employed Varric to tell Cassandra a largely fictional tale.

He just bored me to tears. I'd take him along if it didn't mean I'd have to take him along.
