You pretty much just hold down Left Click the entire match.  Then you start Havoc Strike, and half a second later, animation cancel into a Heavy Melee.  Both the Havoc Strike and the Heavy Melee will hit, you'll know you did it right if you get a Cooldown and hear two distinct impacts.  The Heavy Melee will automatically release the Charged Venom shot, so you don't even need to release it manually.

Anything that's still alive will get Tech Bursted, and then the Venom will start charging itself, you can follow with another Heavy Melee+Charged Auto-Release-Venom-Shot combo.

I have never gotten this to work on Xbox.

That or a Raider.

I'm surprised more people don't use the Havoc honestly though. The thing can put out tons of damage as a Reegar platform, insane weapons damage.

Must be, because of the TGI. That's why the Havoc gets overlooked, I think.

The Havoc ain't that far behind the TGI in damage if you have a Reegar on him. Hell you probably could out pace a Harrier TGI.

I've been pondering which kit to do the Reegar Challenge on.  Sounds like a good setup.

While Havoc strike is not a strong signiture power, it is a good utility tool for transport, stagger and weapon/melee buff. His advantage over the TGI that you can be in the face of enemy in no time. IMHO he is the best with shotguns for these reasons. I think that any weapon or melee focused build with a decent shotgun should be fine (at least on gold). I am currently in love with the wraith, but I like the claymore or the crusader as well. All of his powers give a weapon/melee buff specced that way, which gives a decent weapon/melee bonus if you can keep them up.

I should probably give megabeast his props as he is the one that suggested it to me but it's crazy powerful. Piranha and Raider both work well when you get bored of just destroying the game with the Reegar. Stagger of course can **** you on stim pack usage. Off host the Incendiary strike gets wonky as well if you have lag, just like Biotic Charge it won't fire at times.

So far there are 3 distinctly different playstyles for the Havoc Soldier.  TGI has 1 (2 if you spec out of Overload and rely on raw accuracy)

Something like that might be fun on the Ghost. FE and melee all the things, probably have to throw on a Hurricane or something for bosses.

Perhaps, but then you get into "well he can't get into melee range as quickly as the Havoc" so that is what the Havoc actually does better.

TGI would feel like a gimped Havoc

The ONLY way to play the Havoc is full-melee build on Platinum, b/c reasons.  That's how I roll.

He is really good with any charged weapon.  I hadn't tried the Venom yet though, so I'm glad I've seen that suggestion.

And yeah, he's just a crappy version of the TGI... but where's the challenge in doing what is easy.

Your 2nd TGI build proposal is more commonly known as the "Gladiatorium build" on BSN and isn't exactly popular around here :)

Out of likes so just quoting this.  I remember Gladitorium well

Anyway the Havoc has several different ways to play him using all his powers.  Choosing not to use Overload on the TGI doesn't fall into that category.

Which three? (curious) Also the TGI can be played as a hybrid melee/weapon build or with a ram up weapon without spamming overload (which does not mean that one has to spec out of it).

If you mean animation cancel Havoc Strike with Heavy Melee, yeah it does.  This also autofires charge weapons and all three attacks hit in very quick succession, almost all at once.

The second and third playstyles work with any weapon.

OT: I use 66563 with inc. Raider or warp graal or disruptor venom.
Sometimes, it's 66446 melee with venom.

I often wish the Havoc got OL rather than the TGI.  Some yummy tech combos to be had there.

Reegar Cheese Havoc is maybe even more ridiculous than Reegar Cheese AIU, because Havoc Strike teleports him right into Reegar range on any enemy he can see.

I've been running him Grenade Capacity V, and munching damage spec Stim Packs like there's no tomorrow.  Havoc Strike when it's safe to do so, Cryo Blast when it isn't.  You can save Havoc Strike to exploit immunity frames vs Banshee Balls, Cerberus Turrets, Atlas Missiles, etc, and laugh at their feeble attempts to hurt you.

I'm experimenting with red and gold appearance options to make him look like Iron Man.

Its pretty ridiculous. Might even compete with the batarian and krogan vanguard in clearance times if not for the animation delay on his incendiary strike. He's a beast in any case. Piranha and raider are also fun if you feel like giving the enemy a fighting chance.
