I'm sure many of us would agree that Marksman and Tactical Scan are a couple of great powers on their own even if you don't believe the benefits they provide are sufficient tradeoffs for picking the Turian Soldier or either of the Quarian men over some other classes. When the Quarian Marksman is released, these two powers are going to come together into something that is going to be able to take down enemies very fast. And what do you suppose is going to happen? Nothing is going to happen to the Quarian Marksman. Instead, the powers Marksman and Tactical Scan are going to be nerfed even though they have done nothing wrong. The Quarian Marksman will clearly be the culprit for what I have come to call "synergy imbalance sydrome", but the two powers in question are going to be punished for it. By extension, the Turian Soldier and the Quarian men are going to suffer significantly becuse their most prominent advantages will be stripped away. Meanwhile, the Quarian Marksman takes a slight hit, but like the Geth Infiltrator before him who had its Hunter Mode nerfed, he'll drive on.

We see this happening all the time, most often in the form of gun nerfs. When a gun is an all-around great weapon suitable for a large plethora of characters but it is discovered that said gun works exceptionally well with one or two very specific characters, the gun gets nerfed. The end result is usually a gun that continues to work exceptionally well with the same one or two characters but is no longer as desirable for any other character. You can't cure "synergy imbalance syndrome" by declaring war on the individual components. Bioware ought to think more carefully about what they put where instead of going "Oh darn it" later on and making other aspects of the game suffering.

It'll be worth it though, now we can pretend to be Kal'Reegar. It totally pays off.

I don't remember. Probably incinerate or something like that. Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be overlooked entirely because everyone will be too busy killing Praetorians in ten seconds with their 200% damage boosted Harrier.

Kal'Reegar: the character nobody would remember if not for his voice actor. I mean, seriously, the character's chief accomplishment was to not die from an infection while Shepard and Co. killed the Collosus that stomped his entire team.

I never used the word "overpowered". I merely pointed out that Marksman is going to be capable of incredible damage output. You're enviably optimistic if you believe that Marksman and Tactical Scan won't perform so well together that something is bound to be nerfed.

Sabotage is the 3rd power. LOL at cooldowns. The Quarian will be a real soldier: All guns, no powers. Hahahahha.

Oh is it Sabotage? Well since no one's fighting the geth, it'll be skipped. Or maybe someone would be willing to skip the sixth rank of Fitness for three ranks of Sabotage. Oh well. Doesn't matter. 'Cause Harriers and Typhoons boosted by Marksman and Tactical Scan is going to be this guy's shining force.

I liked him before I even knew who his voice actor was. (I hadn't seen Firefly, or heard of Adam Baldwin when I played ME2. D: )

Why is TS+Marksman OP?

A relevantly-specced Marksman and Tactical Scan working together will provide:
►25% damage increase from all sources
►7.5% weapon damage
►50% headshot damage (headshots are already damage multipliers in and of themselves)
►35% - 50% accuracy boost to help you hit the bad guy in the head
►25% - 40% rate of fire boost to hit the bad guy's head a lot more often

That's not accounting for the weapon damage boost (which I presume will be at least another 20%) from the specialization power tree or the weapon damage boost found in the fitness tree that gives extra weapon damage for killing an enemy with heavy melee beforehand. Combine all that with a Typhoon, and you have one bad-ass motha****in' Quarian.

TS can make enemies take a ton of additional damage, while Marksman increases your damage output significantly.

I get a feeling the QSo is going to be a bit of a powerhouse.

in the 5 seconds or so to set up TS+MM certain other classes would already have been pounding on them from the start. It's fine to me.

I'm not asking for a nerf. I'm pointing out that Marksman and Tactical Scan are doomed to be nerfed, and that's a shame because they haven't done anything wrong.

Only thing i won't like about the class is the very long cooldown of the Sabotage.

If only people knew that Sabotage is a lot better versus organics than with Synthetics, but that is all my opinion of course.

Tactical Scan has such a fast cooldown and such a long duration that if you used it first, you'd be able to use two complete cycles of Marksman before it wore off. I obviously expect anything you're shooting at to die long before you activate Marksman the second time, but yeah.

I didn't know that Adam Baldwin voices Kal'Reegar... that's awesome. I'm a huge Firefly fan.

Also, I am pumped for this character, hopefully we get him soon... but I still say I wish he were a salarian instead of a quarian.

OP, Don't worry. Geth Trooper is coming first.
