WHY people still keep playing FBWGG ???

So, you would think people have figured it out and moved onto playing something else.
BUT NO! Still when I search U/U/G I get into FBWGG lobbies half the time. When I get the lobby, I quit right away -- the new White was fun for a while, but it got stale already.
However, sometime I get thrown into a game already in progress. People no longer attempt to camp'n'grab, they move around so it isn't as boring as before. But as a result they die a lot more, struggle with the geth.
So, WHY do they keep choosing this losing, frustrating combo ?

I still don't like sticking to one map/enemy combo that much and I'll never get people who do.

Even when they choose other places, these morons keep choosing Geth. I have no idea why either. Maybe they're too damned stupid to even TRY other factions.
It's a smart move because Geth do not have instakill moves, and only have one boss who moves really slowly.

This might be funny but.. with the map changes, I actually find Geth on FBW to be pretty fun! Before the map changes they could be hellish if you weren't camping, but now? It's fun.

It actually is kind of fun now, if I land in one of those lobbies I'll usually stick around for a game, unless I just got out of one, or the other players look like complete muppets.
I've since stumbled across a couple of other "sure thing" maps, not really sure if geth is still the best faction but camping the far (from the LZ) end of Rio is pretty foolproof. Also if you stick to the LZ side of giant it's even easier - one or two people guard the room with the ladder (only one thing at a time can come up the ladder, so you probably only need one person), the other three people take cover between the entry to that room and the LZ and kill whatever's coming across the courtyard, or up the near ramp.

If anything the extra room to move on white makes things a bit easier, more escape routes.
Also Bombers are way easier to control than Dragoons are. Geth aren't as easy as Reaper, but significantly easier than both Cerberus and Collector on gold.

This. Staggers aren't that hard to deal with.Jon Phoenix wrote...

It's better to think of being staggered as "If this were another faction, I'd be on the ground from damage right now, but since this is geth, I may be able to escape with the RNG's blessing." because in a lot of cases, it is. Unless you're in cover - and geth cover busters are the easier ones to deal with.

Or did BSN forget just how much damage the Geth do?
I like the new Firebase White, but I bet PUGs don't at all. Also, while I believe the Prime is easily the most powerful boss unit in the game, it's also both the least intimiating and also lacks a instant kill. Not to mention it's quite slow and usually seperate from the rest of the Geth.
Oh, I also believe that instant-kills scare the hell out of most PUGs.

Reapers are easier than geth. Banshees and brutes are easliy avoided (brutes die fast any way) unless your playing on Glacier. Reapers on Glacier = not fun.

As to the OP, I think it's because they can still farm on that map. They know the map and enemy reasonably well so they stick to it, even though they've had to modify their camping tactic a bit.
