SOLUTION FOR LOADING TIMES ON WINDOWS:

.NET FRAMEWORK is causing the massive loading times. unistall it and get the 4.0 beta here - http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en

Fixes the loading times!

Can somebody confirm this?

Edit: Doesn't resolve the issue, it only postpones it a bit.

Did you unistall your current .net framework then restart, then install 4.0 beta then restart before starting the game?

I just asked Fernando Melo about this on the general forum in this thread:

http://social.biowar.../9/index/576445

He basically says the loading time slowdowns are memory leaks and they are being looked at.

This buggered my computer up.

When attempting to save Dragon Age just halted.
After restarting it's showing I have 3 installs of Windows XP (I have 1 iinstall of Windows 7) and saying root>\\system32\\hall.dll. is missing or currupt. It's not starting up at all.

I wouldn't recomend this.

So, aside from not working properly, in attemps to get the game to work, it's buggered up windows.
But hey, at least the expansion packs and DLC are coming out, right?

I got memory leaks within minutes. At first, loading times are okay, but they seem to increase every couple of minutes. Then, the frame rate gets horrible. It's really anti-immersive to see a loading screen for five minutes, end the process, see Windows Vista, and get back into the game.

Hmmm. That's interesting. No problems like that at all. You wouldn't think there's be so much variation in effect. Like I say, I don't notice much until I've been playing for hours. I can only guess that has something to do with the builds of our computers.... Oh, unless...how many of you guys are using Vista?

Travel a bit between the areas in Orzammar and you will recognize it very fast.

I have. I've played through three times now. No problems in Orzamar at all....

well I have only had 2 crashes in probly 200hrs of game play, and it's actually is not a crash, more like a HUGE memory hole after a few hours of game play. Now considering my system is extremly fast and can play 10 copies of this game at the same time w/o issue, it is pretty obvious, it's a coding issue. I have found no difference in vidoe or audio settings, these matter not, it's the game, not the PC.

As for my over clock, the game doesn't know mhz from ghz (it only uses this as a "gate" for initial settings), it does what it does, that is how code works- it either is correct or it is not. I do not have this problem with XP, so.....there it is- it's a code problem.

This needs to be fixed soon. I'm getting so pissed off because i can't even play the game that i payed 60.00 for. Oh and for the .NET framwork it works for me. No trouble at all on my PC. :)

You know, i never even knew that there was a memory leak, unil i just came across this forum, i too also get really long load times when entering or traveling to a different area, after about 1 hour of playing, then after that it will become really laggy, some graphics will become choppy too, and having to restart the game every so often just frankly makes me become bored of the game very quickly, i have so far only had 3 crashes, but i think this maybe steam, as a lot of my games do that anyways, e.g COD:MW2, anyways i just hope this is fixed soon, its ruining all of our gameplay experience, i am also going to give that .NET Framework 4.0 Beta a try and see if that fixes it for me, will keep you posted...

okay kinda forgot to reply back after giving the .NET framework 4.0 a try, it seems to have fixed the problem of having slow load times by a load, and i no longer get any choppy graphics, so if you are having the same problem as what i was having, download the .NET Framwork 4.0 Beta, and hopefully it will sort it out, if not, im sure it will be fixed soon :)
