Haha, that sounded almost offensive.

Seriously, in DAO you were able to customize the mouth. In DA2, you could increase lip size/height at best. I always thought my Hawke had a weird looking mouth and it didn't look quite the way I wanted. Also whenever I made a new Hawke, the mouth always looked the same, give or take.

Now before everyone gets their vaginas in a tangle: I get it. Hawke spoke in DA2, whereas the Warden did not speak in DAO.

Is there a way around this? Can you customize more aspects of the mouth and still have a voiced protag?

Edit: If not, no big deal. Actually, I'm more curious than anything else.

There is some variation among presets. That's perhaps the main thing I choose my preset on.

I don't know why the variation can only be between presets though.

A tangled vagina sounds like a very serious medical condition

You can choose different mouth "shapes" in ME3 CC. Somehow I found this more limiting than DA2 though. Once you choose a shape, you can't change the size. At least in DA2 you can make the lips fuller or thinner.

One thing I always noticed is that they appear fuller in-game than in CC, so I always make mine extra thin.

I just want the CC to more accurately reflect what I'm going to see in game. I can't tell you how many trips I have to make to that damn mirror...

To be fair, it is a thread started by you. I'd be disappointed if a post by you didn't have something almost, but not quite, offensive in it.

Honestly, I may be one of the few who didn't notice the "allergic reaction lips". If more CC can be added to the mouth and lips, closer to the level of customization in Origins, I'd be all for it. But the key word is if. Because if not, then I would like the preset choices to be varied and good (as everyone would). But, again, this is coming from someone who doesn't recall disliking the preset lips of DA2, but also hasn't played it in a while.

I agree.  If you romance Merril, the scene where Hawke is lying in bed with her stroking her arm- super creepy because of the hands.  I don't know i MHawke was as bad as FHAwke but FHawkes hands made me shudder.

Isabela's crypt-keeper hands were just...ugh.

And I actually thought this thread about mouth fixing had to do with Anders's mouth clipping (which was SO. ANNOYING)

I think that is why they limit our mouth choices, but could they not fix the teeth or soemthing to compensate?
And maybe have a CC that isn't a completely black screen (which pretty much requires Black Emporium DLC purchase so you can fix the face that you couldn't see in the dark)

Oh, everything in this entire topic.
Sometimes the mouth would look okay, but at other times(usually in darker lighting) the mouths just looked weirdly swollen.

And those hands, sweetjeezus.
Thank god for those lovely modders who fixed Isabela and Bethany's hands.

I've looked at all four of my Hawkes, and none of them look like their lips are swollen. There's nothing wrong with them. Both my male Hawkes have practically the same lips, but my two female Hawkes have different lips. ManHawkes' lips look better than most real people's lips, and FemHawkes' lips look like they'd be better looking than any real woman's.

Sure, there isn't a whole lot of flexibility for design in DA2 lips, but as long as they look good, I don't care if there isn't much you can do. Besides, when somone tries to make an ugly PC, lips aren't what make them ugly - except that weedy bald Human Noble FemWarden that someone made and took a picture of, talking to Eleanor Cousland. The only reason why they need to be more customisable, is so people can make really, really, ugly PCs, but that would only make it harder to make beautiful lips, like in DA2.

This really irritated me. Why is a certain mouth or nose confined to a particular preset? If we have a bunch of noses to choose from, which we can then alter, why can't they all be available? I actually had to go to a preset whose nose I liked, sceenshot the setting, go back to my preferred preset, and alter the nose according to the screenshot I took. And at least with noses I had that option, there was no such option with the mouths. GRRR. :pinched:

No, they must first fix those zombie hands.

DA2 hands (both arms and palms) were piece of art comparing to ME3 coal-miners hands (for male models) and match-like sticks (for females). Anders' hand looked well even on close-up during the scene, for example.

As for lips - I did not see much of a trouble. But I only play same custom femHawke. So I don't suffer from any lack of varieties. But more options is always better than less options, so I'm also voting for a good detailed CC.

Yes, the lips start looking weird in some scenes if the skin-complexion is changed in the CC - but it's still better than having "plastic" skin.

Women's hands look horrible, men's curiously not.
Still, I´m with the ones who would greatly appreciate a better CC with more options  (and with better lightning! I too ran countless times to that damn mirror...)

I'm sure you could customize Shepard's mouth (unless I'm mistaken) so the protagonist being voiced shouldn't be a problem. At the very least maybe some preset mouths can be included. As others have said in this thread I would like to see the zombie hands fixed and bring back yellow teeth!!! (Okay last one maybe not but dem zombie hands need to be fixed)

You could customise Shepard's mouth, but you also got some really goofy smiles from them.

I think it´s more important to decide if the protagonist should speak and have a dialogue wheel (ME, DA 2), or not and only choose dialogue lines (DA:O).

Considering you will play only as human, I do think the player will speak and thus it might be a nice little plus to have better mouths.

I think the whole mouth issue is more a problem of the potato face than of the CC. Hawke just looks like he/she is made from Play-Doh no matter what you do in the CC. I'm not sure what was wrong with Origins faces (maybe it did have something to do with Hawke talking) but the DA2 faces was the wrong direction.
