Or if two of your companions are verbally abusing another one, (I'm looking at you Fenris and Anders...poor Merril). Your PC can arm him/herself with a spray bottle and squint water at the bullies telling them to knock it off.

I'm more in favor of a sign that says "don't" since it'd be very satisfying hearing it thwack against Fen and Anders' thick skulls, but +1 for this idea.

This would be very cool. One of my favorite banters in DA2 is the 4 way conversation between Fenris, Carver, Varric and Hawke!

And I'd totally love the option if 2 companions are bickering behind the PC to stop, turn and yell "STOP your b*tching. I will SO turn this quest around and go home!"

Fully agree.  I hated having to sit idly by while they called her a monster, among much cruel treatment.

Will the PC stay vocal in banters in DA:I?

Yes. In fact, we're testing out a way for the player to chime in occasionally-- not with an automatic line, but with a chosen response. It'll also be an opt-in system, so you can choose to chime in on the banter or remain silent and let them talk. We'll see if that ends up working as we expect, but I consider it the ideal evolution of the system.

Love this! One of my favorite things is party banter, now we get to participate while allowing us to answer according to the character we are making. I've been keeping up on the info but first time I heard about this. Lol, this is going to increase my playthroughs just to see all the responses.

If you really do this I'd love it. Easily my favorite thing about DA are the interactions among your party. I'll sit there and walk back and forth to make sure I hear everything, please make me have to do this more :)

sounds cool.... sounds like it would be sort of hard tho... unless you make it a popup screen where you press a key to say something, for gamepad users wont be an issue for PC it could be. ... could use the normal 1-3 buttins for wasd users.  or Q-E kinda depends on, how many options we will get...  would be a good use for the "diplopmatic" sarcastic, agressive. ... tho i get the feeling agressive will be something like "shut up back there" or the like.

I dislike the PC talking without my control.

If they could do it like they did in ME3, then I wouldn't mind.

I have a feeling we will get bubbles of text above the player when walking and we would have to click it in an amount of time given.

You mean making the PC talks without player input for at least half the time?
I hope not. ME3's autodialogue was overkill.

Nice, very happy to hear this. Just make sure it isn't something that pop ups in the middle of the screen because that might be very immersion breaking.

Nah nah, I more mean, they talk and you can push a button to make them talk if others are talking about PC, but other times you can just leave it alone. But I wouldn't like my PC just talkin, cause it's meant to be me and if I have nothing to say, then she shouldn't say anything. Though just a command button would be nice, not autonomous dialogue.

It would be nice to have a system like Gaider mentioned, and I think it would add another dimension, especially if you not only choose to opt out or in, but have a little control over what gets said. Understand if it doesn't work out, but will all the positive responses towards using it I really hope they work it in somehow.

I like banter in part because it shows how the companions act with each other and not with the main character.

Agreed, I don't like my character saying anything I haven't approved.
