How would one go about doing this on the 360?

Well It's pretty complicated realy. Luckly there isn't one to worry about.

When you go to load savegames, theres a button "delete" as well. On the PC, but they say both versions are the same.

No, he's talking about deleting a patch, not a save and btw on the 360 we can't delete our saves without going to our HDD options in the console menu.
Just go to your HDD, press Y and there should be 3 options.
1-Rename HDD
2-Fornat HDD
3-Clear HDD cache (or maintenance)
choose number 3 to delete all and every patchs of all your games.

Oh i have misread. What a pitty you cannot thou, thought they said both versions are the same! Its difficult to see location and date any other way.
Btw ,sounds like your tip deletes every patch on every game. should be careful if you have many games.
