Will incomplete story arcs from dragon age 2 be woven into dragon age 3?

So I was just playing Dragon age 2 with a pro-mage agressive femhawke and during the quest justice, I got the option to openly call the chantry a scam and a lie to the grand cleric's face -- Blew my mind :o.

I also had a rather charged conversation with petrice about a schism forming in the chantry and picking a side one day.Evidently the faithful are not happy under the current divine's rule. Now I weep for that exalted march expansion. :(

Is there a chance we'll see these story arcs continued in dragon age 3? They're just too exciting to throw away.

How are those incomplete story arcs?

One is a religious opinion, the other is a psychotic fanatic's posturing which barely counts as foreshadowing.

It's a precedent for breaking away from the chantry.

No, she spoke of a time coming when she'd be able to aid me.There is obviously more there.

The "precedent" for being anti-chantry was set in Origins, and i wouldn't call much in the games "breaking away" from them.

It could work as set up for a future story arc (more then likely hat is what it is) but it isn't an incomplete arc.

I don't know if I'd agree... Sure origins had its anti-chantry dialogue lines here and there but Da2 took it to another level with tevinter chantry amulets, old god worship alters, conversion to the qun in MoTa and now this open definace infront of a Grand cleric.

It could work as set up for a future story arc (more then likely hat is what it is) but it isn't an incomplete arc.

Ooooo how exciting :D

The incomplete story thread I find most interesting is the idea that Allure might return if viscountess Hawke marries Prince Sebastian, since she wants "the loyalty of two cities."

Doubtful seeing as hawke couldn't take the deal and allure is dead... Also sebastian isn't a romance.

Well there is the Qunari Arc, I don't see that coming full circle in DA3 although. Maybe more foreshadowing or a cut scene right at the end showing countless Qunari ships.

I'd love to see Sebastian come back with his army from Starkhaven and hunt down Anders (since I usually spare him unless I'm a mage- since he's my healer).

I don't know, but in my canon playthrough I sided with Petrice against the Qunari. The Grand Cleric will dismiss her after Hawke fights the Kossith in the Chantry, and the dialog she and Hawke have afterward makes me wonder if she'll be back for Inquisition.

If you can get past the fact that she tries to have you killed, Petrice is a very interesting and, to me, likeable character. She is like an extreme version of Leliana, but uses her wit to fight instead of daggers. I hope she'll be back if you kept her alive in DA2.

The problem is that a great many of the gamers kill her because you can only get the option to side with Ser Varnell if your Hawke is aggressive otherwise he does not believe you. Many gamers did not know it was an option.

It would mean that Bioware would have to make her living canon which could fly in the face of many gamers decisions.

Nup, he has no whatchacallit... "Romance on/off switch". His romance dialogue is scripted like the special dialogue and he's scripted to break up with hawke at the final battle no matter how things turn out.

I'd assume whatever they were doing for the Exalted March will be folded into the game. Would be a waste not to if they had completed anything on it

I read somewhere that when The Exalted March was cancelled, elements of it would be incorporated into the next Dragon Age. This was before Inquisition was officially announced, but I'm hoping so.

I know I am arguing semantics (and I don't even care about this, I just can't help myself!), but in order to break up with someone, wouldn't you first have to be in a relationship? To me, relationship = romance.

From the Dragon Age wiki: "Even though a romance can be made with Sebastian, he will never actually sleep with Hawke due to his vow of chastity.
"

He apparently doesn't trip any of the romance achievments, but neither does Thane in ME3 and I dare you to tell any Thanemancer he is not a romance option lol

Sebastian is not as complete a romance as the others in DA2, but he is a romance.  For example, if you friendmanced him and play Legacy with a post-Act III save and bring Hawke's sibling, the sibling will comment on Hawke's marriage to Sebastian.

I believe that if you Rivalmance him, Bethany will apologize for missing Hawke's wedding cerimony.

Nah, that's friendmance with a diplo Hawke.  Rivalmance version of that conversation, Bethany is kind of . . . flirty with Sebastian, and Hawke, depending on tone, is either subtly warning her off, not so subtly warning her off, or "Back off."
