If you seen this before I added text opps, lol. Hit enter after the title.

Anyways I'm just wondering if anyone has had a positive post game outcome for the Alienages, I know the one in Deneram only seemed to get worse no matter what I did. I've played through a few different times and I know at least with Anora after I made Shanni Bann of the Alienage it didn't seem to do a bit of good, just wondering if anyone else has had a different outcome where the elfs actually got treated as equals or prehaps respected.

Maybe I simply picked the wrong person to be Bann, I just always assume Shanni would be best for the role, she does become elder and seems to have her peoples best interests at heart, even though she does over react to insults from humans, honestly though you don't really get to see how she treats a human who is first kind and respectful to her (this is really my fault, I tend to favor elfs my only full play throughs are all knife ears lol).

I had a very good outcome. What was your pc origin? I did it as a city elf so maybe that had something to do with it. Anyway, I would guess the major factor is that I had Alistair as king and not Anora. When asked for a boon I said "I wish for my people to be treated for fairly for once." Alistair offered to make me bann of the alienage but I said Shianni would be a better candidate so he consented. It said the elves of the alienage gained more rights and the elder was even admitted to the king's council (I'm assuming that's Shianni). Really I'm guessing that if Anora's queen there's no way events in the alienage turn out well and I agree Shianni is the best choice (imagine what would happen if you named Soris as Bann, ick).

Ah good to know, usually my origins least the ones that finish the game tend to be city elf or mage, course my mage is always an elf for the stat bonuses (don't like dalish elfs much). Haven't finished the game as a dwarf or human yet but I might do a full dwarf commoner play through.

I did have Alistair as king before but I must have missed it in the ending about the elfs doing good for a change.

Soris as Bann though lol, he was an alright character but honestly I wish you had the option of just going to rescue the women without him, hes such a wimp. The only time I kinda got mad at him though is when you go to the Alienage before the landsmeet, he seems resentful towards you because of all your accomplishments. This from the same guy who called you his hero for taking the blame for him after the origin story.

For some reason appointing Alistair king avoids the food shortage that Anora always suffers (no explanation given). I have to wonder if Alistair would really behave any differently, faced with the same situation. If he insisted on giving the elves equal food share as his human subjects (its unlikely Eamon would endorse such action) I imagine he wouldn't be on the throne for much longer.
I think the best you can hope for is status quo for the Denerim Alienage. I suspect in the future, the elven/human conflict will become far more central to the plot. Maybe once we get to venture to Tevinter. **
If you use the Dalish Elves in the final battle, they can get their own territory and acknowledgement under any King/Queen scenario. Urging the Alienage elves to participate in the defence, or run for their lives when you take out the Archdemon's generals seemed to have no effect though. I was hoping it would make them take a greater pride/interest in their home in Denerim and push for more rights, but it didn't show up in any epilogue.

** When its revealed that elves created humanity as a subservient race long ago, but where overthrown by them thanks to the quickening, and dark magic given to man by displeased old gods.
