Who's voting Ashley as Renegade? She's a very by the books soldier, who's heavily against Cerberus. She's a Paragon.

That's why she supports killing the Rachni Queen and letting the Council die?

That's why I voted her renegade. She leans renegade on two of the biggest renegade decisions in series.

Finally, I'm on a computer so I can actually do this easier.  Here's the picks I had done for the poll along with my little commentary for each.  I wonder what BioWare might do with our interestng poll idea.  I bet they'll take it and use it for something one day:

Kaidan -  Paragon for me

Anderson - Always found him as a paragon

Saren - Def renegade

EDI - I'm going with neutral because she's still developing her alignment skills

Kasumi - Personally I see Kasumi as more paragon. She may be a thief but she seems to thieve with a paragon slant. Most thieves are in it for money or for themselves. I think she does it for more than just her or money

Grunt - I voted for paragon because he seems to be trying to define himself as a true Krogan. So using Krogan ideals he's trying to become the perfect Krogan and in that sense that would be a Krogan's version of a paragon

The Illusive Man - Renegade. Bottom line

Jack - Ditto here, her alignment's switching up. So she's neutral

Javik - I'm going with renagade. He's the ideal Prothean. I'm basing my choice on what a true Prothean soldier would do.

Thane - He's the most paragon assassin we know lol

Miranda - Still think she's a renegade. I think she has a hidden agenda somehow

Legion - Going with neutral for the same reasons I said about EDI. Though he's further along in emulating Shepard, it's hard to get a read on him

Zaeed - Ditto with using him a lot. Yep renegade; Plus I enjoyed his stories lol

Morinth - Going with Renagade.

Joker - He acts tough but he's just a softie. By no means is that a bad thing, if he was playing this game, he would probably choose a lot of paragon choices while telling everyone how renegade he is. LOL going to go neutral too

Samara - I agree she uses the justicar code to cover up her renegade choices so they look more paragon. Even Javik doesn't do this with his warrior code.

Mordin - I went paragon because Mordin always seemed to be trying to do the right thing based on his mathematical probabilities. So sometimes the right thing ends up unorthodox in solution that dooms an entire race but Mordin still goes back to the drawing board to fix it. To me he seems to do this throughout the series

Jacob - I think Jacob tries to do the right thing even though he was a part of Cerberus. I think Cerberus may have deluded him but he ends up coming back thanks to Shepard. So paragon for me

Liara - She seems to be a paragon to me. Such as the LotSB she still tries to do what she can to save the known universe

Garrus - He may be a sweet talking paragon but in reality under his deadpan jokes he's a renegade at heart

Vega - James may act tough but I sometimes think he is an all out renegade then at other times an all out paragon. I don't know, I'm going neutral for now. It just seems like he's in transition with his alignment

Ashley Williams - Part of her distrust in Shepard stems from her worldview. I'm going with neutral too

Wrex - Ditto. Though I have to wonder if he's shifting at all during his kingly days. Still, saying renegade

Tali - Have to say Tali is a young paragon. She means well

oh and +1 to Restrider for finding some of the best pics for the characters. Though Anderson could be refined a bit more. I like him in that Alliance hat of his tipping toward you in the end sequence. Not with the contorted face he has from the pic itself

More characters are up! Javik, Thane and Miranda.
I went:

Javik- Renegade because he is easily the most renegade squadmate* in the series, but with good reason (all he's ever known is war). (90% Renegade 10% Paragon) *edited Javik a bit

Thane- Neutral because of how he viewed being an assassin meant not having any consequences for his actions but also showing a more merciful and repentant side. (53% Paragon 47% Renegade)

Miranda- Renegade (but only just!) because she goes after her goals ruthlessly, even though those have generally good reasons behind them. (60% Renegade 40% Paragon)

Now that all Characters are up: (Remember these are my opinions)

Tali- Paragon. She's generally an idealistic person minus her opinion of the Geth though that can change depending on Shepard. (75% Paragon 25% Renegade)

Garrus- Renegade. He'd do whatever it takes to get the job done if it means helping people in the long run. He does have a Paragon side to him as he always respects Shepard's decision. (65% Renegade 35% Paragon)

Ashley- I'd have to go Renegade. Though she hates how Cerberus does things, in the biggest decisions of ME1 she would always choose the Renegade decision. (75% Renegade 25% Paragon)

Liara- Paragon. She's generally idealistic about situations but she did gain a ruthless streak after the events of ME:Redemption and demonstrates this in ME2 and LotSB.  (70% Paragon 30% Renegade)

Wrex- Renegade. This is inherent in most Male Krogan. That said, he holds hope for a better future for his people later in the series. (70% Renegade 30% Paragon)

Kaidan- Paragon. Probably the most paragon character in the game. Open to almost all races, creeds and cultures. He generally believes in doing things the right way, not necerssarily the fastest. (85% Paragon 15% Renegade)

David Anderson- Paragon. Considered the role model soldier, he generally believes in doing things the right way although he never judges Shepard's actions and doesn't always follow the rules. (65% Paragon 35% Renegade)

Saren- As a spectre he would cut whatever corner it took to safeguard the Galaxy and was very judgemental of humans. This is likely how he first fell into Sovereign's trap. (95% Renegade 5% Paragon)

The Illusive Man- Stone Cold Renegade. He will do absolutely whatever it takes to achieve his ultimate goal. Deception, Treachery, Deadly experiments, Torture and more. There's nothing he's above doing.
(100% Renegade)

EDI- Neutral. She seems apathetic to everything early on in ME2. Any "morality" she gains later on seems solely dependent on how Shepard reacts to her during the series. (50% Paragon 50% Renegade)

Jacob- Paragon (barely). Generally level headed, he hates red tape (why he joined Cerberus) but questions when someone crosses the line. (60% Paragon 40% Renegade).

Mordin- Neutral. Appears Renegade at first though it becomes clear he does have a conscience and despises the Reaper view on the Galaxy. He does what best fits the available data at the time.
(52% Renegade 48% Paragon)

Grunt- Renegade. As pure a male Krogan in body and mind as you will get. He delights in causing mayhem though he does gain a sense of honour in battle later on. (80% Renegade 20% Paragon)

Jack- Neutral. Though certainly a Renegade based on her past, thanks to Shepard she can have the biggest morality swing in the series as demonstrated by her becoming a teacher who looks out for her students.
(53% Renegade 47% Paragon)

Samara- Neutral. Though she always protects the innocent (however ruthlessly), her strict adherence to her Justicar code shows she doesn't want to question the morality of her actions and perhaps hints at her vulnerability. (55% Paragon 45% Renegade)

Morinth- I assume Renegade though I've never seen her enough in my playthroughs to judge.

Legion- Neutral. As an avatar for the Geth, they favour peace with their creators and the right for species to self determinate, although they will quickly change their tune should the situation dictate. (51% Paragon 49% Renegade)

Kasumi- Neutral. She's a professional thief so obviously doesn't follow the rules but even she has certain lines that she wouldn't cross (such as Murder and stealing from those who don't have much). (56% Renegade 44% Paragon)

Zaeed- Renegade. As a bounty hunter, he will sacrifice anything to get the job done and to get his revenge. He does mellow down a bit if Shepard is a strong Paragon though this change is negligible. (85% Renegade 15% Paragon)

James- Paragon. He believes in doing the right thing and is generally a nice guy but he is a soldier and has sacrificed people for the sake of the mission before. (61% Paragon 39% Renegade)

The problem is that some characters, like Mordin, have alignments are influenced by the player. It really depends on your Shepard.

If that's the case then I generally put them down as neutral.

Actually I had him in the polls for the first version of this thread that got lost thanks to BSN. I will add him asap.

Oh - I thought this was going to be about the traditional D&D lawful / neutral / chaotic & good / neutral / evil system. I would've loved to see that.

But oh well, voting now, regardless.

Good thread OP. I'm also glad you kept the polls simple. No clutter, no frivolous options, just straightforward. I commend you.
