My friends on Skype can hear me crystal clear, but for some reason voice chat is not working in ME3. Any help is appreciated.

I have some friends who cannot see the mic icon and cannot hear each other, yet they can be heard fine for other people. I have to wonder if there is some sort of port issue between particular IP addresses. Not sure which port is used for chat but no doubt as a minimum starting point that port needs to be open (and if any kind of NAT/proxy is used forwarded).

The mic icon is blue in color, so the game has detected the mic, but for some reason they can't hear me.

From your end yes. But if for any reason the port is not found at the other end your mic will show as red and non-existent to the other guy. The irony is that if they could hear you then you could ask if your mic is red...if anyone at all can hear you though you may still have luck because the other person can relay the question and ask the person unable to hear you if your mic shows red or normal. It won't matter if it is at their end or at your end that the port can't be opened, failure to open that port means no mic.
