Arcane Warrior is more related to elves, it should be present in game focusing more on elves and their history. It doesn't fit the Inquisition.

As much as I would love it, I'm with malek on this one.

Nope. Leave it out. Never liked it that mages could act as a tanks/spellcaster hybrid. Also, there's the lore aspect of it.

I say keep mages and warriors distinct from one another.

In Origins we encountered another human AW, its not an elven specific thing.

When does lore contradict it?

The lore doesnt contradict it, but the lore says its a lost or at least very rare art.

There was a mod for the PC that let you actually use W&S or 2 handed abilities with the AC Specialization, I'd like to see something like that. I don't mean I think we should have full access to those abilities, but some weapon related ones for AC would be nice.

As for me: Arcane Warrior is great concept, though I never really played a mage, but when I did I played Arcane Warrior. In DA2 it was disappointing to find out that such brilliant thing was trashed.

This.

It makes sense to introduce it as a part of elven culture by allowing the learn the specialization and to the required quest beforehand, but it would be cheap, lore-wise, to conveniently allow every new protagonist access to the same skills that the previous one had, just because.

On second thought, get rid of Reavers too. What are they supposed to be anyway? Vampiric/blood-magic warriors? Templar and Berserker I can understand, but reintroducing Reavers for absolutely reason just seemed like a way to fill out the last specialization slot.

The only Reavers we encountered were the Dragon Cultists.

I would love to have Arcane Warrior return for DA3. I am sure that is the only reason my mage was able to beat Loghain in Origins in single combat. It gave us more wardrobe options too!

That's what I thought. A dead art, maybe, but if lifegems were even marginally common...The elven empire stretched nations. Finding another lifegem wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.

Don't run away with it now. Reavers are dragon cultists. They drink the blood, it yields certain powers. Their is a codex on dragon cults remarking on their structure and presence in Thedas.

Yes I would love to see return. Although I would like there to be some form of sword attack for the specialization so those who choose to use a sword can get some form of other melee attack with it.

i would like to see an all new specialization for the mage. I loved the arcane warrior and also the force mage. I kinda want to see what they could come up with. Maybe something with 'wind' magic as the lack thereof always sorta bugged me.

If they do, they need to give the AW some special skills because cripes the AW was boring in Origins.

I suggested in another thread they go with Demonologist instead.

I'd like to have a fighting mage return, but preferably with a bladed staff, to keep it unique and different than warriors & rogues.

I'd prefer it if you could bring one sword and one staff to some blacksmith who could fuse them.  Preferably Wade.

Nah. AW felt terribly broken, even more so than mages already were. Balance isn't as important in a SP game, but a big fat "I WIN" button, especially if you don't know it's an "I WIN" button, is a bit much. Like the biotics in ME1.

Yes, I loved playing a mage who could wield a sword and shield. That was fun. I really liked alot of the specializations from Awakenings.

To be honest, I'd prefer something like an Arcane Duelist. A fast, light armor wearing character dancing around the battlefield with a sword and a fireball.
