If you're gonna do something like this then don't call it a "Happy Ending Mod", it destroys any potential value your work might have had.

Just a thought.

Calling it what it really is, 'the better ending mod' for example, would most likely cause pro enders to come over and hate on this wonderful mod, derail the thread, and get it locked after a while...

It destroys no value IMO.
It's a happy ending compared to the sterile crap we got, it's not really a happy ending though.
It's just a bittersweet ending to the trilogy, it's not exactly happy at all.

It's an optimistic outlook after so much has been lost.

This as well. It's not a truly happy ending but it's a sort of ending that should've been in the game all along. And it's a lot happier than the miserable nonsense we were fed in the original, so I guess it's a happy ending when compared to the original ones:)

this mod gives us a "light at the end of the tunnel" ... and this time, its not a muzzle flash.

the repercussions of the war are still staggering -

- billions dead,
- a reasonable number of possible sleeper agents who were moderately indoctrinated (like saren - still a reasonabla amount of free will, but still dangerous),
- a rebuilding effort, that could take centuries,
- a destroyed galactic economy,
- highly restricted space travel without an intact network
- lots of dead reapers and minions to dispose.
- no working governments

not what i call happy - its just a bit happier, than it was before. it is an ending, that gives hope.

,,,uh, wow. Cool.

This isn't exactly what I wanted (don't think I'd omit the Catalyst as much as I hate it), but the fact this exists is amaaaaazing. Looking forward to all the cool permutations this'll end up being.

Well, you could just call it "End of Effect" or something a bit more original perhaps, then add a subtitle saying "Mass Effect 3 Ending - Fan Cut".

If you call it exactly what it is, it loses some of it's value as a work of passion.

Oh, wow. You put Shepard in that last scene, and mixed the narration in and... Holy crap this is actually freaking RAD!

Nice work and I'm actually amazed with fact how much people do want Shepard truly alive and safe, no matter BS they keep repeating on these boards. Well, this mod is revelation for those who wanted this sort of ending and lets say, true homage to Commander her/himself. I personally don't like this ending, but it's amazing mod and amazing work, especially when we consider lack of resources and the amount of time and work spent - that's what I call true dedication and love for something. I bow to you sir.

Can you switch the EDI slide, when Hackett speaks about the casualties, with Thane, so that we have Mordin, Legion and Thane + remove her name from the wall?

Besides that, I still have the child in my game, only that it switches dirctly to the red ending sequence, after it has finished his conversation with Shepard.

Wow, impressive. Amazing work.

It's a simple ending with no twists. I'm usually all for twists and tragedy but I have to admit it's really nice and still has a melancholy feel to it. It's probably the music and the fact that no one is throwing a party and everyone looking sad and exhausted.

I think it's a fitting end for the trilogy.

Is the MEEM version on YT, too?

After that, if it convinces me, you have a spanish translator. Send ya an PM in order to translate it.

Thanks so much.

Exactly. The galaxy is devastated, and no matter what the player does, a lot of major characters dies along the story, and Shepard and the others gets a load of scars and nightmares that won't fade away anytime soon. But that's ok... nobody expected less from somenthing as devastating as the Reaper War. Though, when you pull out such dark developments it's recomandable, to have a balanced and satisfying story, to at least end it with a spark of hope for the main characters survived. Especially in a story where they matter so much as happens in ME. I never wanted a Return of the Jedy finale, with fireworks, feasts and marriages. Just somenthing that says black on white that Shepard survived and has a chance to find some peace together with his comrades and his LI.

This finale does that.

Also, since BW has been so kind to release Leviathan and explain a second time the origin of the Reapers during it, now we don't need the Starchild at all anymore. Which also gives more sense to the final confrontation with TIM and to the death of Anderson, that becomes the final sacrifice. Two good scenes that with the Starchild literally coming out from nowhere and explaining everything in the last 2 minutes were unfortunately pointless, if not even redundanct that now instead has the proper weight in the story.

So yeah, thank God for the mods. Once this will be finalized I'll be able to come back to play ME's singleplayer. I missed it so much in these last months.

I'm also glad to see that even the pro-canon-ending users are giving so many positive feedbacks, instead of going with the usual bashing. That alone says already how good this mod is.

As I stated before on the thread about this, the modding community will pass throught.

Ok Bioware, is non oficial, but I'll start a poll anyway. This is from now on, my mass effect ending.

OP, by the way, I will send you some usefull things in order to help you. If needed, I can give u a hand with minor things of that.

This is quite amazing, even if it's still a little rough on the edges. I must have been a lot of work getting to this point, I hope the community will help polish it further. As others have noted, I wouldn't actually call it a "happy ending" mod, since removing the Catalyst does a lot more than simply offer a happy ending. I've yet to test it, but a couple of things I can note so far:

- In the Youtube video at 4:25 there's an IGN logo. Is that in the actual mod? If so, it would be best to remove it to avoid legal issues.
- Joker has more dialogue than I think is actually needed.
- Have you considered asking the people that worked on Koobismo's audiobooks for help? They've done some amazing voice work there: http://koobismo.devi...allery/37041544
- I think you can remove the breathing sound at 2:18, doesn't really seem needed.

What might be great is if OP made a list of things that he could use help with. Like best case situation, what would you need to make this better? Voice actors, video editors, sound guys? Some artists to do some ending slides?

Post that stuff on reddit and here, and I guarantee people will step up.

Great work! Loved seeing Shepard being alive at the end. This gave me a lot more hope.

Pity I play it on 360. Cause I definitly prefer this ending.

Excellent work, just a question, for those of us that liked the Faunts song at the end of the original, can we change Malukah's song for that? is it too difficult? thanks!

Would the foreshadowing for the Catalyst they had in Leviathan even work if he's been removed?

It doesn't really matter.
Leviathan just foreshadowed that an AI built the reapers with a specific assignment.
You don't have to meet said AI.
