I got plans for the refuse scene already (way into the future but still, they are there)

Well, alrighty then. I won't take that idea any further then.

As for the stargazer scene: As I was saying a few pages back, I want to
try and set it up in a way so it's very easy to just put LI scenes in
there in a future version. I myself won't do it for MEHEM itself but
this way, fans of the characters could create an LI "expansion pack"
like the ones shown here. If I can, I do want the game to distinguish
for the different LI's (and posibly male vs. femShep). Not sure if/how
that's gonna work yet though.

You might want to put SOME kind of alternate Stargazer scene in there. A lot of people will probably just intall the baseline experience and nothing else. And if you don't get an army of people able and willing to create special LI scenes, there will be a lot of missing possibilities. And even if you manage to get a special video for each LI (x2 for each default Shepard), at 50-100 MB a pop, that going to make a seriously massive download.

making stargazer replacements with shepard is tricky .. most shepards are custom and look different.

Udina's say "Well, What about Shepard" before immediately mentioning Shepard's background.

You have a couple of choices:
- End the scene right after Udina's first line. Might seem a little abrubt
- Edit Udina's and Anderson's conversation to remove reference to background, service history, and gender. Problem with this is that the conversation no longer resembles the opening of ME1, it might lose the intended impact.
- Actually have the appropriate dialouge play based on save file data. This would be amazing to see but possibly too difficult/impossible to implement at this time.

I'd go with the first choice.  Yeah, it might seem a little abrupt, but fans of the trilogy will know exactly what comes next.  Especially is some ME1 music was playing at the time...

Frankly, I love the idea of an LI scene to replace the Stargazer. And I also liked the idea (I think it was wavions) about making a scene with the time capsule. Hopefully as MEHEM continues to grow and expand, more time will be put into scenes like these :)
Before I discovered MEHEM, I ended up making my own alternate ending (not nearly as good as MEHEM) in a video format. Not the most awesome vid, but it was the best I could come up with at the time. Why do I bring this up? Well, at 6:31 I ended up making my own additional LI scene. Much of the dialogue was cannibalized from ME2 and 3, so it may seem a little repetitive and choppy. But they do express what I imagined might take place between my male Shep and Liara in terms of what they might say. Just in case anyone making an LI scene for mehem wants any ideas or anything, feel free to take a look

I haven't been following this thread as much when it was first introduced, but the passion and creativity is still very awesome. It's not for me, but I always like to encourage and love to see what you creative people have up your sleeves.

Continued successes to you, MrFob. From one Mr. to another...

Got some good points there. If only there was some way to make the stargazer scene include the player's Shep, custom or not, and their LI... :/  Oh the conudrums :)

On a completely and utterly different note

ingotjuh on the mehem v0.2 youtube comments wants an ending where Anderson lives and provided suggestions as to how to do such.
"Maybe you can make it so, that the scene cuts out just BEFORE Anderson
dies/passes out. Then, when the camera zooms towards the planet again,
put in some dialogue, with Anderson speaking. That way you can just make
Anderson's survival part of this ending. In the end, you could write
some other latin text reflecting how the war had been, a text that sets a
sad tone. Then you get Shepard hugging ..... because of that memorial
text."

I personally like MEHEM as it is... But I am curious though if his suggestions for achieving what he wants are possible though, from a technical standpoint.

Well, I don't know from a technical standpoint, but I would definitely rather leave it as it is.

The death serves as the necessary *bittersweet* to an excellent ending

andersons death fits perfectly.

it shows the change of generations. the former master dies and gives the torch to the diciple (who is now ready to be the master) to carry it on. its touching and fitting. the "best" death in the whole series.

hopefully, it is possible to add the extanded dialogue.

Hey, on the topic of Stargazer scene - I've had all the technical elements on that down for awhile - sound replacement, encoding the bink video, etc.

Was just having trouble splicing the actual video together because I suck at that. Only thing holding things up.

Right now I'm probably only going to do the Tali version instead of one for every LI like I originally planned, but since they confirmed no ending post content, might as well work on it again.

I'm gonna try this again, but if it fails to look "real" - if someone has decent skills in editing video and would like to help, let me know.

Yeah, you can't have a war like that without some personal loss. And the Anderson "You did good" scene and (now) the placing of his name on the memorial are both moments I treasure. I just didn't want Shepard to die, because losing Shepard is like losing the game. I want to be able to win, dammit! I didn't put hundreds of hours into the trilogy just to lose.

i know how you feel .. usually, a death-screen means you just lost the game.

I'm inclined to agree, Anderson's death should stay in. MEHEM's purpose, I think, is to make that death worth it. The ending is still bittersweet. Keeping the memorial scene without someone particular to mourn would just seem odd.

I'm an amateur, but I have good software.  I'm probably not your best choice, but if no one else comes forward I'm willing to help.

Not sure if this has been asked yet but once the DLC comes out, would it be best to uninstall the MEHEM mod, load the DLC then wait to see if a new patch is needed like for "Leviathan" before reinstalling the mod?

i would say yes. nobody knows how the next dlc influences the endings.

It's always a good idea to uninstall the mod before applying a major patch or installing a new DLC. The question is when. You might want to check here first to see if the new DLC/update interferes with MEHEM or its installation. There's always a chance that such an update will prevent the installer from working, and it might take me a couple of days (depending on RL time constraints) to get an updated version available. If you're comfortable using the manual installation, you should be able to get up and running quicker. I assume a new DLC-fix (manual) would be fairly easy to make, following the template of the Leviathan fix for the new DLC file.

That's true. You might want to see how the vanilla ending plays out with the new dlc installed.

Will do - muchas gracias to all for the helpful advice. Would like to add one of mine:

Upon uninstalling the MEHEM mod and installing the new DLC, players will be subjected to the unmodded endings until it can be determinined if a new patch is needed. Should players wish to continue playing without the MEHEM mod, it. is strongly recommended that copious amounts of alcohol be available and handy. Editor suggests Cruz Garcia's "Reál Sangria".
