Yup. Cant wait to see the new version (No pressure Mr Fob
On a side note... I am curious. Do people think MEHEM implies the relays getting fixed (I think it does. 1: fixing a relays is probably easier than building one 2: they potentially could get the prothean VIs or Mars archive to surrender info 3: People have a lot of motivation to fix them 4: Wrex got to Tuchunka in time to see his baby kid so thats gotta count for something right? Not to mention Samara and her daughter both apparently go to Thessia) enough? Or would a scene showing the Normandy hitting a new relays with Garrus saying something like "just like old times" be appropriate? Might add some clarification... but thats assuming clarification would even be required. Simply curiosity on my part

fixing one relay should not even be that hard ... fixing the relay on the other side is the challenge. "its a long way to tipperary".

Oh, good to know thanks. That is exactly the info I needed. Could you also tell me if the true love flags are set from the start of the game if e.g. you romanced Garrus in ME2 even if he is dead by the end?
Or is it set up so that all the true love conditionals are only set during ME3 itself? Because if it can already be set from the start (as a result of a savegame import from ME2), than you might actually have the situation where e.g. Jack's flag is set to true despite the fact that you never met her in ME3.
Sorry for asking all of this but I don't have enough different savegames to try this out and it would take me forever to get there myself. So if you know, I am grateful for any info.
You need to re-confirm your love interest in ME3. They all give you an opportunity to back out. I'd have to guess that the true love flag is not set at the beginning.

I didn't really want to get into the ME3 files today so I sat down and tried my hand (for the very first time) on selective colour corrections for some of the video clips I use in MEHEM. Specifically I wanted to try and improve the ME2 scenes.
However, I am not really an expert in all this video stuff and above all that, I have some trouble making a fair judgement of video quality (just not very good at it). So I quickly cut together some of the changed scenes and put them into an unlisted youtube video. If you ahve the time, please take a look and tell me your opinion (here or in the video comments). Thanks and here is the link.
I set it up so that the original video is in the top half of the screen, the changed version is in the bottom half and I also included it at 50% speed because some of the cuts are rather fast (this is just for a better view in this testing video. in the final version, the clips will be used at normal speed). Looking forward to responses and suggestions.
Also, still looking for saves with
- Kaidan
- Jack
- Cortez
and possibly a low EMS one.
See, that's what I was afraid of. Don't expect miracles from v0.3. Depending on how things go this weekend, it shouldn't be too far away now though.cfs3corsair...

Also, I'd agree with your point on the relays. The EC already shows that they have to get rebuilt (or that people quickly figure out how to retro-engineer the reaper's super speed). In any case, it's clear that traveling between worlds is no problem within a minimum amount of time.
@wwinters99: Yep, that's what I figure as ewll. Would be good to have this confirmed though. I just don't have a savegame for it.

The 50% speed seemed to be a little to slow. Doesn't need much speed increase for the fight scene but personally I think it needs more for the Kodiak departure scene.
But, regardless, it looks very good!!

and concerning the savegames, sorry can't help with that, first of I'm a DLC **** (bought every piece of it) so my saves would not fulfill your requirements, second of as you have mentioned that you indeed need un-gibbed savegames, can't even help by doing some gibbing... ah, well...

MEHEM is already a miracle

I don't know about minimum amount of time, but Hackett says in his speech that "It will take time, but we can rebuild everything that has been destroyed" Might take years, decades, or even centuries, but it will happen eventually.
As to the recoloring: I like it. I imagine it will blend in much easier with the rest of the footage.

Normally I would agree about the time frame being long-ish... except Wrex and Samara seem to make it back to their homeworlds fairly quickly (remember Samara is old, even for an asari. she doesnt have centuries left). And Wrex seems to make it home in time to see his firstborn, which implies less than 2 years imo.iakus wrote...

haha yes it is quite a ways to go. But I actually don't think it would be an issue. Simply talk to the other civilization that the other relay is used by [using quantum entanglement communicators] and soon both have their ends up and running.
Love scene number one. Dont change a thing with that one. Scenes 2 and 3 are also good, but still seem a little orange to me. Any chance to make them a little more grey or blue without them being saturated? As for scene 4, also really like it. Might be just a tad too blue though. Any chance of reducing that just a tad without going back to orange?MrFob wrote...

all of the plausible improvements I suggested are rather small though, these scenes look pretty good!

Well, I'm thinking centuries on the scale of getting the entire relay back up and running (or at least what had already been explored) Routes to the homeworlds would, of course, take priority.

MrFob,
The 'True Love' flags, which is what indicates a locked in ME3 romance does indeed stay set if the LI dies later in the game. This is what the game uses to show the LI flashback at the end.
Jack, Cortez, and Traynor are exceptions to this because of the way the plot flows. Jack can only die if you skip the Grissom Academy mission in which case you can't lock in a romance with her. Traynor can't die at all. Cortez dies during Priority: Earth if you didn't talk to him enough to get him over his husband's death in which case you don't have a relationship with him anyway.
Oh, good to know thanks. That is exactly the info I needed. Could you also tell me if the true love flags are set from the start of the game if e.g. you romanced Garrus in ME2 even if he is dead by the end?

No. The true love flags are for locked in ME3 romances only, either new or 'rekindled'. Having romanced a character in ME2 (or ME1) are separate flags that affect dialog and also which romances are available in ME3 (i.e. Jack/Tali/Garrus/Miranda can only be romanced if they were romanced in ME2). Once a true love flag is set (ME3 romance is locked in), all other romances become unavailable. So there can only be one (or zero) true love flags set.

i think the reduced speed version was only to have a lore analytical sample of the video ... to get the right impression on the colors.

Some people mentioned further reducing the saturation, especially in the Kodiak scene. I'll see what I can do. The main problem is that if I take out too much of the blues, the shuttle will look black&white as well and the whole scene will appear to be discolored/monochrome but maybe I can still find a better balance there. Same thing goes for the oculus scenes. Problem is that the background and the oculus' thanix beam are both red-ish. Will see what I can do there. And yes, the speed decrease was just for analysis, not for the game.
@HelixSpiral: Thanks again. That info saves me quite some work.
@ThatBigStupidJellyfish: Great. PMing you now.
@Bierwichtel: Yeah, I hear you about the vertical squeeze. I was mainly worried about large funky borderlines though. You know how when you do colour corrections, sometimes, if you set the tolerance/softness settings wrong, you can get these effects that a certain hue of a colour gets changed while the next one stays the same? Then it looks like large discoloured blobs in the video. I think if you don't see these, the quality should be fine since I don't change anything else. But, yeah, maybe it would be good to put the original size up. Might just put it in v0.3 though and if it doesn't work out, I can fix it for 0.4 I guess.
Oh btw, I also tried to recolour Mars for the very last flyby scene before the credits roll. Haven't found a way to make it not look silly yet. I was hoping to give a more blue-ish/green-ish hue, so that it looks a bit like earth but I don't think it's gonna work out.
@wwinters: Yep, haha, never thought it through to that point. Also, Ironhandjustice suggested mirroring some of the scenes to further obscure repetitions. I tried it yesterday on some of them and it works out rather well I think.
EDIT: Updated list of needed saves for testing:
- Jack
- Cortez
