Sorry i haven't visited this thread in a long time, so i don't know where to start in order to catch up. What's the latest news on Version 3? What new stuff is gonna be added?
MrFob just updated us a couple of days ago, actually:
About v0.3 and concerning cfs3corsair's question on when it'll be out? I'll be able to tell you after this weekend. I plan to implement all the new "beneath the surface" features then and if everything works as expected, there is just some minor stuff left to do and it shouldn't take too long. That said, after the DLC announcement, I am thinking of delaying until after Citadel is released. In case it does have some impact on MEHEM, I can still work it in necessary changes without the need for external fixes (like the Leviathan fix for 0.2).

@ Bierwichtel
If thats just alpha, I cant wait to see the final product! Nice job!
@ Spamtrash
Nice thankyou vid you made! Really awesome
@WV
You are the unsung hero around here
@ MrFob
I also kinda like the idea of an indoctrinated Illusive Man with more correlation to Harbinger
Now regarding one person's (mine) opinions on everything thats happening here..
I do like the idea of a special scene dedicated to Harbingers death. Would add kinda an epic feel to it. Im a paragon player, but who doesn't like sweet revenge?
But I realize this may or may not be doable. If its not, still like watching Reapers incinerate
Regarding the relays... Think a little damage is kinda needed for the story. I personally would like it if there was a scene of ships fixing the relays, but thats just me. Besides, its implied they get fixed anyway
And lastly, I also kinda like the idea of some different Stagazer scene... but what that would be seems to be constantly under debate.
Cant wait to see things progress

After a while, when I figure out how to change focuses for a proper illumination, I can get a complete film around the model.
And flashlights. I still have to do flashlights.

First alpha:
Not smooth because of GPU overload.
Will try to do better. With flashlights.

Now, with the new single player DLC promising to add new crew interactions, I was thinking about doing a full run through the whole trilogy from the beginning.
The only problem is; I am a purist when it comes to games. I want everything to be original and unmodified. However, this mod seems to be just what I need.
Are there any other purists out there who found this mod to be what they were looking for? And most of all, got over their principles about unmodified games
Either way, I wish to say thank you to MrFob for doing what I was actually thinking of doing myself after the disappointing endings of ME3!

i mostly play without mods ... i am almost a purist so to say. (i personally dont count "high resolution mods" though)
desperate times, need desperate actions.

For me, I come to this thread to see how progress is going with this mod. There are some incredible ideas thus far. Just simply adding "Harbinger Taunts" during the beam run... adds so much more flavor to the ending.
I am in no way a purist, but this mod in total is just not for me. But for others, it means the world to them. MrFob has done a great service to those players, and honestly, that is what makes it worth it. Even though I will most likely not install this, the Mod does such a good job, and it does deserve much praise.

I'm in the boat of people who really disliked the end of the game. Really disliked. As in "X-Men: The Last Stand" ruined rewatching the X-Men movies for me, or the second two Matrix movies make it hard to watch the first (good) one.
But reading about this here, now, makes me think it might be worth a PC playthrough and picking up a (hopefully cheap) version of ME3 on the PC, just to get the kind of closure I'd like to the series. EC wasn't going to cut it - for me the whole end of the game, regardless of choice, was ruined by the end from charging the transport beam forward.
So now I'm searching for a deal on the PC version, just for this mod. Thanks!

It's nice to see posts like this; people who are satisfied with the endings, but are glad that someone has taken the time and effort to create something others wanted.

He is laying the foundation for future updates.
Sort of like how parts of a DLC can sometimes be found on the game disk.

I'm pretty much a purist. With mod-friendly games like the Elder Scrolls, I typically only install mods that enhance graphics and fix bugs. I avoid weapon/armor mods that might unbalance the game, and I avoid most quest mods that might not be as well-produced as the actual game. And before ME3, I never would have downloaded a mod that changed a game's canon. But ME3's ending is so broken, that I consider MEHEM to be a bug fix. I love the Mass Effect universe, and I love revisiting it to find new little details. I couldn't do that anymore after ME3; I couldn't replay the game knowing what was ultimately coming. With MEHEM I can again - it has restored my love of the trilogy. In its current form it's still unpolished (due to lack of offical tools from Bioware), but it's already way better than the original ending, and it's getting better all the time.

The Sith Lords Resored Content Mod for KOTOR II is a must have. It may change what you experience compared to the vanilla game but that is in no way a bad thing.

The only mods I used prior to this were a couple of textmods in ME2 to alter the costumes of characters the AAPs didn't cover. This is the first one I've used that alters story or gameplay, and now I can't imagine playing ME3 without it.
Edit: I did use mods for content mods for KOTOR 2 and Fallout 2, but I consider those to be somewhat different cases, as they restored content that was originally meant to be in the game rather than change the game itself.

When it comes to games that are story driven, I will rarely ever mod. And when I do it doesn't change the storyline. So when it comes to story driven games, I guess you could call me mostly purist. BUT MEHEM I make an exception for. As wavion said, its a major bug fix that should have been an optional canon in the first place. Players do have a right to end a series like they want to to end, as far as I am concerned

@ruggly and Mr.Dbow: Couldn't agree more with ruggly there. Thanks MrDbow. If you read the OP, you'll see that this mod isn't even necessarily for me. It's just, once you are in it and have an idea, you want to see if you can make it work. Of course, the reception and this thread helpedwith the motivation as well
@irokeesi: That's incredible. I am actually quite a purist as well. I have a few mods for the TES games (tried Nehrim (Oblivion total conversion) once) and last year, of course I had to go for Black Mesa but other than that, I never really used mods much. I certainly never tried to mod any game before ME3. Just never felt the need before.

It's pretty funny thinking of a love interest using the animations.Mr.BlazenGlazen wrote...
Anyone considering possibly replacing the nightmare scenes with something else? Like....maybe possibly replacing the kid with your LI.

Those scenes would work well with the sense you might lose your love and what you care about.
It would require a bit of dialog editing with Shepard, but that wouldn't be terrible.
The harder part would be the import of the model and if it lined up well with the animations.
