I'm on my way out to work now, so I won't be able to look into it further until tonight, but a couple of people have reported the same problem since the most recent ME3 update. I haven't yet been able to duplicate the problem, so I can't fix it yet. Right now I'm wondering if it's possible that different editions of the game were updated differently. I'm using the Collector's Edition. Which one are you using? Regular/Collectors - what country/language?

I'm using the N7 Collectors Edition. I'm from Australia, game is in English.

I'm repairing/redownloading Extended Cut to see if it changes anything, the error is pointing to the EC DLC for some reason, so I'll see if this does anything

I just repaired the EC DLC and tried the installer again and it all worked properly, thought you might wanna know.

Not sure why it didn't work before that, I've played through save games with the extended cut active quite a few times

MrFob (and all others involved), I just want to thank you for all your work on this. Thanks to this mod I can play ME3 again without that pit in my stomach that haunted me before.

@wavion - I recently had to redownload ME3 and instead of the manual install of MEHEM, I chose the installer this time. I had no problems, but origin wanted to update the game right after. So I uninstalled MEHEM, let it update, then ran your installer again. I just wanted to report that I did not have any problems. I am using a normal digital copy of ME3, not the collector's edition with all DLC including the MP packs.

As for mine, I used Fraps to record. The video was created in-game using the FlyCam. Unfortunately, there's no way to slow down the speed of the flycam so it's extremely difficult to get smooth camera movement. I spent the better part of a day making Coalesced.bin changes trying to adjust the camera speed, but none of the commands/parameters that SHOULD have worked did. I could change Shepard's walking speed, I could put the entire game in slow-motion, but no matter what I did, the camera still zipped through the scene like a Banshee on crack.


I'll try Fraps.

Thats the strange thing, the camera is smooth (I'm not ingame, using the UDK itself) but the capture seems to be malfunctioning for some reason...

This scenes include multi-texture (are the same models used by Bioware, but modified from several sources), and special effects for ligthing and kind of. I still don't like my frigate/cruiser effects, so I will wait a bit before trying more of these.

The Destiny Ascension engines and texture were a challenge: they use a modified version of the Thanix ray and a multi-layer texture with refraction, something very hard to handle because of UDK speed xD

The true "pain in the ass" is gonna be when I finally realize how to make movements, transform this stuff into a real battle! If I can, I'll make a large number of ships fighting on the background in order to provide extra scenes for the battle.
Let's see what else I can do :whistle:

So about my problems with mehem...  I ran a ME3 repair... and then when I run the MEHEM installer it says "Patch failed!"
I redownloaded the installer and same thing happens... somewhere the installer is encountering problems adding the files to ME3.
Ah well, v0.3 is just around the corner :)

Out of curiosity, what version of ME3 do you have? Collector's Edition? Maybe we can narrow the problem down.

Wow man, was totally blown away by that vid. Love the work your doing! I got excited when I saw your model for the Destiny Ascension. I was hoping to see that in the original game, a quick 3 or 4 second shot showing the Ascension blasting away a reaper since the codex toted it as the most powerful ship in the galaxy. Oh well, one more thing this mod can fix. Keep up the good work! ;)

As far as I know I just have the standard edition for PC. This is really weird because mehem worked before... something's off

@cfs3corsair and anyone with issues with latest update with MEHEM/MEHEM Installer.

SOLUTION: Just Tested and VERIFIED. My ME3 is standard version if that matters.

You will need to reinstall the Game.

Steps:
1: Uninstall Old/MEHEM version

2: Reinstall to Vanilla Version/Redownload DLC

3: a. Check for New Update-Game should be up to date thanks to reinstall.
b. verify Vanilla Version works (Use an old save. Warning: Will have to relive Star Child Scene briefly)

4. Reinstall MEHEM using Installer. Will work

5. Run Game using Ending Save. Will bring up MEHEM ending now.


Why This Works:
Wavion can give you the technical stuff but basically the MEHEM installer ONLY works if it is replacing the VANILLA/ORIGINAL EC/DLC files.

I would HIGHLY recommend you create two back-ups (Each one around 20GB size):

1. The Vanilla version, up to date and with all DLC.

2. Latest working ME3 with MEHEM installed.

This will help you easily "switch" between the two if something gets corrupted due to update.

Also you may want to turn off "Automatic Updates for games" in Origin if you are using this mod.


RECAP:
-If You have an issue with MEHEM, reinstall ME3 to Vanilla Version and then use MEHEM installer.
-Latest Update doesn't affect MEHEM
-Make BACK-UPS

This is awesome, I am actually amazed that just by omitting the dumb default starchild and some small tweaks there is an ending that actually makes some sense.

thanks for the info! Unfortunately, I have a *very* bad internet connection so I cant reinstall and redownload DLC, doesnt work very well. That being said, I could just wait for v0.3... unless the same problem exists with v0.3. Do you know what that involves wavion?

Played the trilogy again and got to the MEHEM ending.

Felt very satisfying, if a little rough since it uses old scenes that are clearly recognizable (and don't really fit in the heat of battle). Some audio doesn't work well with some scenes as a character says a line and their cutscene still has their mouth moving. Could make a quick cut from that. The one thing that really took me out of it was the really bad mic-voice overs at the start of the mod. Sounds like 2 fans grabbed their headsets and recorded themselves. Personally, I'd also have Shepard cleaned up at the end. His face his too bloody, and it's not like the healing in the ME universe is like here. I understand though that this is a texture / model thing that's hard / maybe not possible to change.

I have others that could work, but this is your mod, not mine.

Anyway, there are ways to really up the completeness of this mod. Definitely still a work in progress, but in the right direction. No starchild in my ME3 makes the payoff so much better.

I agree for the most part.  It is rough.  However, if MrFob and everyone else that is working on this decides to call it quits right now.....thats is 100% ok!!  

At this point this mod can only get better, no way it can get worse.  Unless of course they throw the starchild back in in which case it defeats the purpose of this mod so I don't see that happening. lol

its still "work in progress"

some very talented people are working on the videos right now. "bierwichtel" showed some very nice footage a few days ago. it is possible, to alter the "old" me2 videos, to fit to the rest of the vids.

the voice thing is also something, that is being worked on. update 0.3 is almost ready to go. mrfob is only watting for the release of next dlc. this update will mostly feature bugfixes and code-stuff.

cosmetical changes are mostly planed for the 0.4 update - if i am correct.

As I understand it, V0.3 is due to be released shortly after Citadel (MrFob wants to make sure the DLC doesn't screw the mod up)

There are plans for a V0.4 as well. And what's been spoken of here make that sound very exciting.

Yes v0.2 is a tad rough around the edges. But you have to remember, that is only the second version of the mod. V0.3 is releasing shortly after Citadel DLC releases... and if you read the last 10 or so pages of this thread, there are some pretty cool improvements being planned for both v0.3 and v0.4.
And there are plans to entirely replace the stargazer scene with something else probably

Versions 3 and 4 will have some amazing tweaks and changes. Don't worry ;). And I agree, I cringe everytime that stargazer scene comes up (shudders).

On that topic, anyone remember Wavion's idea of the stargazer scene replacer where he had used the refusal liara vid to show how we won? I thought that was a pretty neat idea, coupled with someone's idea of adding mass effect 1 dialog where udina and anderson talk about shepard. I know MrFob has plans for the stargazer scene (can't wait!) but what about down the line fully fleshing this one out and having it as a add-on? I don't know, just thinking out loud. ;)

OOOO OOOO! (waves hand in the air) Pick me, Pick me!  What, what do you mean I don't count?!

FWIW I abandoned that little project when Mr. Fob said he already had plans for the Refuse footage.  I happen to know that some good fan-created Stargazer alternatives are in the works, though.
