Don't worry Fob, at best Levi just explains the Reapers origins, not their motivations, well at least not clearly and leaves it up to speculation. All we know is the Leviathans made a AI, this AI was tasked to preserve organics(not protect or save), no matter the cost. It figured out a way and also saw the Leviathans where part of the problem so it harvested them first to create Harbinger. You can easily headcanon that when this happen Harbinger and the AI become one and every Reaper is still their own being, but Harbinger does lead the Reapers in a way, he gives orders for the harvest, that's it. This keeps Sovie intact, it still leaves the motivations unknown and up to the player and the Reapers leader at best is just a harvest leader not I COMMAND YOU ALL type leader.

Again my take on it, people have their own idea on this :)

Sounds like you forgot to copy the end004.bik into the "movies" folder of the main game.
BTW, if the installer doesn't work, most save way to go is to do the following:
Go to Origin, look at the game details for ME3, right click on the Exteded Cut DLC and choose "repair" in the context menu. After the repair is complete, do the same thing for the Leviathan DLC. After that, use the v0.3 installer to install MEHEM.

Installed it manually quite a while back (IIRC there wasn't an installer then). Is this recommended for installing the latest version? (does the repair put everything back to vanilla no-MEHEM state?)

If you repair each DLC then yes, it should be back to vanilla.

If you don't have your own back-ups, you'll need to repair 3 things: The Main Game, the Extended Cut, and Leviathan (if you have it). The other DLC are unaffected. Repairing the Main Game alone won't repair DLC, you must repair those individually from the addon/DLC page. Also note that Origin can't actually FIX the DLC files, it just redownloads the whole thing, so you're looking at 2-4 gb of downloading to perform the repair.

I couldn't remember whether or not I installed it before or after I eventually bought Leviathan anyway (I've not stomached getting to the end of the game since then so it doesn't really matter) so repairing was the safe route. Fortunately my connection is fast enough that it didn't take too long.

Finished my first insanity run last night, I did the original ending (Destroy, high EMS) just to make sure it registered completing on insanity, but I installed this right after finishing it to try it out. Kudos for making this, and making it fit so very well. Considering the clips you had available for Joker, the way it was put together was well done. I much enjoyed this as an alternate ending, best part being without the Starbrat.

To offer a little insight as to how Leviathan plays into the dialogue at least (spoilers ahead), you can discuss with Starchild that you met Leviathan and that you know it was created by them. Starchild just kinda confirms what you already know and reiterates it, adds only a small amount of new dialogue to the conversation with him. Though it in no way changes any outcome at all.

And I have a question for you, if you don't mind, regarding the way in which this mod changes the ending. Not that I have a problem with it, as I stated before I loved it, but I'm curious if you would have changed how you made this if you had the resources (in terms of video and audio that would fit it well). So the Destroy ending with high EMS, we know we see Shepard take a breath, in the rubble of presumabley the Citadel. Or at least we will assume that. Before playing your mod here, my bit of head canon I always couldn't help but take this into account, and I actually feel like I would like this more if this rescue attempt was after the crucible is fired and the citadel wrecked. That Shepard barely survives the blast, and is in fact in the rubble as shown, barely alive. After the fleet (and Normandy) have escaped the blast area, recovered and returned (maybe a few hours or so after the event? I guess that's up to interpretation/preference, and what would be realistic considering Shepard's injuries), then they search the Citadel to try and find Shepard. They of course find Shepard, barely alive, take care of Shepard, then the happy ending commences from there.

It's not a huge deal of course, but I'm trying to apply some of my old head canon to both this and some of the original ending content. I more like the idea of Shepard having barely survived in this way, you get the ultimate victory over the reapers, but it so very nearly killed Shepard. I feel it adds a slight tragic sense to the ending that needs to be there, to better show the scale and severity of the reaper war, and what it took to win it. Shepard lives, but it was a very close call. What are your thoughts on that slight spin on the ending, would you do something more along those lines were it more feasible to do?

I don't know how you people do it, but you guys managed to smoothen out the rough edges from the previous version that everything unfolds so.. so smoothe and natural. I'm even inspired to do a trilogy run..

Now I feel kinda sad, though.. because only now do I feel the finality of the trilogy (a bit late, hehe, but maybe that's just me being strange) or maybe it's just the after effect of seeing a well executed ending, idk. The first MEHEM brought an end to my long months of depression, v.03 made me wish for another adventure again with Shep & co ^_^' .. not gonna happen I know (and for a good reason too).
Kinda curious if I'm alone in this one or not

I tend to think the catalyst is still there, you just have so much EMS the Crucible fires over the Catalyst's attempts to override the command and it kills him.

I prefer MEHEM to change the story as little as possible, honestly. I wouldn't even like if the Catalyst was encoded into Harbinger. Just red beam kills the catalyst too.

Hmmn.., I always thought that the Catalyst is just one of Harbringer's work to troll on Shepard's mind (if you shoot the kid, his voice does change drastically.. 'so be it'..)
Maybe (and this is a big fat MAYBE) the writters intend to end the Reaper War through a negotiation table where Shepard is speaking (and making decision for) the galactic forces while this glow-in-the-dark entity represents the Reapers (since ending a game with boss fight feels too videogamey for them =p I think it's a cool twist if being done right)
I just thought that Harby uses the image of a kid to gain some measure of trust from Shepard (an image often being associated with innocence) and thought that if he showed up as himself, Shep might choose Destroy outright =p or try to find a way to by pass him (much like what MEHEM does now XD..) at least thru negotiation process, there is still a chance the Commander might decide on other options that does not lead to the Reaper's demise..

But, that's just my headcanon talking and it's just something that floats on my head eithout the over scrutiny of lore and analytical thinking, lol .. XD

I get the end credits with the new song, skipped the credits and got the Stargazer scene without the MEHEM credits. Then a black screen and the game crashed.

I can't use the installer, because I'm using an international version of ME3.
Now it's working. I reinstalled ME3 completely, with all DLC and updates and installed MEHEM manually. It's perfect now. :o

I've been told that the installer DOES install for international versions. But, like with the manual installation, you'll get a mix-match of English and your own language. Basically, using the installer with International versions is unsupported - I have no way of testing/addressing issues that may arise, but international players welcome to give it a shot.

Oh, and to be clear, by international I mean "non-english" (language).   The British/Canadian/Austrailian/American/etc versions are all supported.

Had this idea after playing the Happy Ending Mod for Mass Effect 3.
Since they didn't have any scene for when the squad goes back to save
Shepard, I thought of making one.

Think it's a good idea to put something like this in the mod, if you can code it on future updates

Whoa, very nice. Where did that come from? I don't see it originally in this thread. I guess we could speculate that Cpt Fob is flying the shuttle. A problem might be all the custom Shepards, and maybe even distinguishing a male or female shepard in the game.

Great image, I really hope that some day the modding tools will allow something similar to be implemented in the game. I don't count on it, but one can hope.

Cpt Fob is providing fire support from the Nueremburg. The shuttle is from the Normandy and is likely piloted by Steve (if alive) or one of the Normandy's marines that magically appear when needed.

I have the German version and it says "Default.sfar is incorrect size" when I use the installer. Anyways, the mix-match with the languages is no problem, because I'm playing in English. :P

About the picture. Maybe it's possible to hide Shepard's head, only showing the armor or the leg part of it and include it as slide.

Whoa I would definitely support this, I LOVE this track.
By the way, I just finished a playthrough, which I startet loooong ago (stopped playing before Cronos Station because I lost motivation, you know... because of dying and all this crap which follows :crying: ). So I fnished this playthrough with MEHEM now (Jack romanced) and threw a kickass after war party in my apartment on the Citadel. :o:O

That's the way to end Shepard's era.

Can't believe I only just found this now.

Supposedly time is healer, but this so much better - the way ME was meant to be.

Thanks for restoring my faith in the ME series! Don't think I'll ever play ME3 again, but at least 1 & 2 will feel a little less painful now.
