As for EMS, squad mates, etc.
Right now, MEHEM is just meant for high EMS so it is assumed that they survive. The only squad member that shows during MEHEM is EDI anyway. All the other are only shown during the memorial which is fully dynamic and reacts to all the flags set in the game (so e.g. if Garrus died in ME2, he won't be in the memorial either in MEHEM).
Also, I do have definite plans for low EMS in v0.4. You might not even want to call it a happy ending mod anymore after you've seen what's about to happen when Shep was too lazy to get his war assets together. ;)

To be honest, MEHEM always seemed like an ironic name, since it's clearly bittersweet (really bittersweet, not what they claimed was bittersweet).  In my mind, I've taken to thinking of it as "Reignite Mass Effect" after the new ending song, and that it rekindled my interest in Mass Effect ;)

I'll second that.  Cortez bit the dust, Anderson bit the dust.  Lots of other people all over the place bit the dust.  But Shep lived to join his LI.  Bittersweet.  In that order.

Yea, I was always going for bittersweet. It is happy when compared to the original though. Mainly I thought that Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod made a good acronym. :)
It also describes a happy ending to a rather long lasting ordeal for the people who like it. In that sense, the name has a couple of layers to it. (Sometimes it's also fun to see how it goads people into rather ridiculous arguments, although that was unintended :devil:)

BTW, Getorex , if you like the dark energy plot, you might want to take a look at MEEM, my first project. It sort of goes with that idea. I like the plot idea as well and I think it is ironic, how well it actually fits into the original endings with no more than a few VO changes.

@ZLurps: Love the project you and the doc are working on. Me being a big fan on lore, I would love to read these emails in game. I agree with everybody; my first playthrough, I thought the whole time it was harbinger since he was the first reaper so in my mind he was "the boss." Then when starkid came out I was like okaaaaaay...? I think this would be great since MEHEM boots out starkid. ;)

@MrFob: I did have one suggestion that I wanted to run by you. I recently finished testing out the ending with another mod I'm using and TextMod (recently got into it and changed some textures) and after watching the ending a number of times I noticed something. When the slides play, I noticed that every crew member that was part of the normandy has an ending slide except Jack. My ending romance is Miranda (love what you did with her slides by the way ;)) but we see Jacob, Kasumi, Zaeed, Samara, and everybody else except Jack. So would it be possible for those of us who didn't romance her have a slide inputed that shows her after the battle? I don't mean to be nitpicky and apologize, it was just something I noticed. I agree with what you said earlier about having to many slides, but I was just thinking since she's part of the normandy team it would be fitting. But again, just a suggestion. I did come across a slide that I think would work. It shows Jack with her students.

Yea, I know. As far as I can tell, this is a bug. I saw this when I made the new setup for the geth/quarian slides. Jack's slides are still there in the objects of the epilogue pcc file. It's all set up to show her but somewhere a link must have gone wrong and she never shows. I wanted to look into this problem and repair it if I can for v0.4.
If it's just a bad link, it should be really easy to fix but I'll have to see how the timing for the slides works out. The timing for this whole sequence is set in a rather complicated way which I haven't completely understood yet. However, if I can get Miranda's and Jack's non-LI slides into the epilogue, I will definitely do so in v0.4.

It shouldn't affect that.  My games had always ended at Anderson's last scene. I had a few playthroughs and they all ended there. So MEHEM was the only reason I got that achievement. I hated the idea of marching my Shepards to their certain death ( 'cmon, the breath scene is pure BS), so they have never even talked to starchild. The Bioware endings only exist on youtube.

For a while, my Leviathan DLC achiements showed up in game but was "locked achievements" on my N7 HQ. Eventually it was corrected. Maybe something like that is going on.

I spent several hours trying to do this very thing, if you recall. Had a replacement texture and everything. Never did get it working in-game. It's not as easy as we're led to believe from the tutorial.

EDIT: Sorry, just checked the thread you mentioned, which describes how to heal Shepard completely, as opposed to replacing the "injured" Shepard texture overlay, which is what I was trying. I still wanted him bruised, just not actively bleeding. (I was referring to the texture-replacement tutorial for ME3Explorer, not your customization guide, which I'm sure works fine).

Ah okay, should have known it was a bug. (they always have to pop up Image IPB) Well, I'm cool with it either way ;)
I'm also doing a trilogy run. ;) Sure is fun meeting everybody again, especially Garrus when he headshots the guy holding the doc hostage (love that scene ;)).

@Reorte: Oh, forgot about the achievement thing, sorry. Well, I don't see why MEHEM should affect anything there. I am not touching difficulty levels or anything like that. That said, I don't really know how exactly the game tracks these things for achievements so your best bet is always to use an un-modded game for these kinds of things.

@wavion: Ah, right, with everything else that was going on, I totally forgot about this. We should re-visit this idea for v0.4. Maybe can get it to work as intended after all. IIRC, the main problem was to keep the bloody overlay for the citadel scenes but to use your new one in the memorial, right? Gotta put that on the to-do list.

@McBlade223: I hear ya. With every paragon Shepard, I want to berate Garrus for his recklessness but somehow I always end up telling him how cool that was anyway. :) His best introduction was in ME2 though IMO.

I can tell you that they are working on one particular LI, and that as time goes on you can reasonably expect every LI to be covered by various modders. Hope that answers your question

Ah...Thanks.  I have problems finding mod groups/projects of interest to me and the one you mention would definitely be one I'd be interested in following.  As for one particular LI you mention...let me guess: Liara?  With blue babies?  Or would it surprise me with someone unexpected?

Naw, none of that. You merely need to extract the file in question from the MEHEM sfar-file, do the edit as per Fob's instructions, re-import the file into the sfar-file, then update the toc.bin via ME3-explorer and done you are.

Actually no its not Liara. If you look at page 107 of this forum, it is mentioned that the scene is about Tali... hopefully as time goes on, various modders cover all LI's

I did the clean face edit first(you can see her in the projects images) and then did it with out the clean face and I preferred the injured face since it shows she is still battered and still has to get healed more, she is simply ignoring the pain to put Andersons name on the wall to respect the man she loved(not in a romantic way) and to accept that her second "father"(she is a colonist and after Mindoir Anderson was like a second father to her) is dead and sacrificed himself to finish the Reapers.

Happy ending right? :P

One thing I wonder how did the Normandy have the time to get to the mass relay?
Because that scene when Normandy is flying away after it entered a relay.

I think that part is a bit vague; don't think the game ever specified that. I figure that 1 it is save to assume that the crucible uses theories about dark energy which 2 leads to the beam increasing its acceleration. Therefore, where the Normandy is isn't nessasarily in a relay. Since mehem gets rid of the alien planet scene, and there is a scene with the Normandy flying by mars (possibly earth later) I think that the Normandy and fleet stick around Sol

It seems to have sorted itself out so I'm doubting that it was anything to do with MEHEM.

Anyway, that was the first time I'd actually played a game through to the end with it installed (I'd fired it up quite a while back, an older version, just to see what it did). A vast improvement, thank you (although it feels like I'm sticking my fingers in my ears and shouting "I'm not listening!" at the original but only BioWare can sort that out and they won't).

Well the mass effect series is about the worst threat the galaxy has or will ever see. It's not an easy battle, and if we screw up (like not collecting assets and getting low ems) it's going to hurt us. So yeah a semi to totally depressing low ems ending makes sense... As long as it is always possible to get the current high ems good ending that we now have :D

@Jadebaby: Well, as long as there is cool stuff to add (and as long as I have fun doing this sort of thing :)). It's not like I am working on thia continuously though. The main work on v0.3 was done within the last 3 weeks or so before it came out. Before then, I didn't have much time for modding for a while. At the moment, I am doing another series playthrough so I haven't really touched the ME3Explorer in the last 2 weeks or so. I also have a some RL job stuff coming up in May so I may not be able to do much until that is done. Might be a while till v0.4 sees the light of day.

at some point it might be a good idea to write down a tutorial, that gives people the abilities to keep the mod up to date with the game files.

it is always possible, that later patches screw up the game files and mod does not work without making small adjustments.
