What is 1 huge goal is to provide different endings for different EMS (low ems, everything goes to heck. Mid EMS... perhaps things are saved but shep dies or something. High EMS you get to cool ending). Also some various smoothness tweaks and stuff. One other thing is that MrFob is considering attempting making a playable victory celebration (from Citadel DLC), but that is a huge maybe because of various technical difficulties so dont count too hard on that for the moment.

Ahh that does sound good.  Hopefully MrFob can pull off something linking the ending with the Citadel DLC like you said, that would be pretty awesome.

Even if MrFob can't, it's still the best ending for me in my opinion.  I can finally play the game over and over and not feel crappy afterwards.

Since a few others here have shared with us their
anniversaries,

Today (no I'm not joking) is my 1 year anniversary of
finishing ME3. (finished the game 4/1/12 at 2:23pm)

Like most of you I too didn't love the ending. However I
didn't feel angry, sad, depressed, betrayed, etc. Something worse happened to
me (at least from my perspective):

I felt nothing.

Outside of "Huh" I didn't.. know what to feel. At
the time I didn't understand why people HATED the ending so much. But I knew
the fact that I had this empty feeling in me that something wasn't right. That
this ending wasn't right. In fact, after I "researched" why the fuss
over this topic, I came to the conclusion that the ending was missing
something.

But what was it missing?

One of my favorite movies, V for Vendetta, has a quote that
I think sums up what I think was missing and also why I personally love this
mod. (Link to the quote itself, starts at 1:15) I have rephrased it for ME purposes:

                                                                                                "Good guys win.
                                                                                                  Bad Guys lose.
                                                                                                   And as always,
                                                                                                   Shepard prevails."

I played 30+ hours of the SP.
I played the mulitplayer to get my EMS up to 5000.
To help boost my EMS I used the Datapad and updated it every 6 hours for almost 3 weeks.
I invested 80+ hours in ME1 and ME2 (and their DLC) with a Malesehp and Femshep characters.

For the first time in my gaming "life" I actually gave a bosh'tet about a game's universe, it's characters, stories, everything.

And becuase of all that I played for the one thing that ME3 was missing:

Victory.

That was what MEHEM gives me. Closure is Victory. Reunion is Victory. Defeated Reapers is Victory. Hope is Victory. Standing with my comrades, organic and synthetic, is Victory.

I have the the utmost respect for all involved in MEHEM. The mod itself, the Trailer, all the yt videos, etc are amazing. I have been here since the beginning 5 months ago and I am excited to see what future versions of this mod brings. :D

Keep up the good work. And remember:

                                                                                                "Good guys win.
                                                                                                  Bad Guys lose.
                                                                                                   And as always,
                                                                                                   Shepard prevails."

Hey, thanks for indulging me yesterday. T'was kind of a spontaneous idea I had yesterday morning. Couldn't pass up the chance to play an April fools joke on such a wide audience. :)

Now, back to business.
@cfs3corsair: I don't think I'll have Joker blow up reapers all of a sudden. If he could do that with a frigate (Normandy or no), imagine what a dreadnought should be able to do. No, as much as of a contrived plot device as it is, I am going to stick with the crucible for defeating the reapers. Otherwise we'd have to overhaul the whole game.

@arathor_87: I agree. That variety of endings was what I was expecting from ME3 as well and what I sorely missed. Hopefully, we'll get a bit of that back with low EMS options for (the real) v0.4.

@Getorex, cfs3corsair & Dr_Extrem: Yea, my understanding was as well that QBBs are unique pieces of hardware that cannot be recreated. About Dr_Extrem's point, my take on this was that this uncertainty makes an AI not 100% predictable (like a VI is). From a narrative perspective, QBBs are scientific back boxes (I know, calling a blue box a black box is kinda odd). They are unknown enough that you can proscribe any attribute to them at this point. Therefore, they can very well serve as the hurdle for AI survival. The ME writing team never states this outright but IMO it is implied. Of course, that is just my interpretation, nothing more. Anyway, this is going a bit off topic since in MEHEM the AIs are never destroyed in the first place. :)

@mtmercydave09: Well, cfs3corsair got pretty much everything there but keep in mind that this all theoretical as of yet. Not sure how much and how well things can be implemented. At this point, there is also quite a bit of rather difficult bug fixing to do.

@Getorex (again, this time about the party): That was my idea as well. It's really going to be difficult as hell though. A lot of flags to check. Who is dead, who is alive, etc. It's not going to happen for v0.4, maybe I'll try for v0.5 or something.

@Yoshimurha: Yep, loading the backu0ps manually should do the trick. Otherwise, you could use Origin to repair DLCs (or if necessary the game itself as well). Try the backups first though, no reason why they shouldn't work. Also, the Default.sfar.bak is just another backup that DLCExplorer created. Never mind that, it's not used by the game at all.

@frypan: Nah it was Fobereign, the vanguard of its own obnoxion

@spamtrash: Nice. You know, if I had seen the ending on April 1st last year, I'd have immediately checked my internet logs to see if BW updated my game on that day or something. :)

@MrFob
Perhaps I stated the things about the Reaper thing poorly. I'm just saying it would do my heart good to see the Normandy take just one shot at a reaper or such ;)
As for the party... Yeah can imagine that being complicated. If you can achieve it, just one suggestion: the opposite party from the one the player did before may be nice, but consider such here: 1 it could be very difficult to have the game automatically choose the one party and vice versa. And 2 some players may still prefer to choose their type of party. May just be easier to not make a particular party happen by default? I do realize though this could potentially lead to similar dialogue. Anyway just throwing that out there :)

When I first played me3 I thought I was prepared; by that point I had heard bad echoes about the ending. But when I saw the ending I'm just like...."I cannot believe I just saw that". You put that much effort into getting the galaxy, yourself, friends, and especially LI to surivive an bw gives me this?! Man that was depressing. Then fortunately MEHEM comes along and my ending is saved! Doing another trilogy play through right now :D

Got a problem: Hackett's speech on black screen, then few slides in mess order, then black screen and nothing.

Ok the first thing I would do (works on 95% of cases) is to right click on ME3 and click "repair install". Then right click again, go to "game details". You will see a list of the dlc you have gotten (should you have any). Right click on each piece of single player DLC, and click "repair". Then reinstall MEHEM. Should work. You have to automatic installer right?

You've echoe'd my sentiments completely.  Even with the EC endings I just sat there and felt empty because I felt like there wasn't closure.  At least now we can see Shep and the crew getting reunited, and the Shep and LI sharing a hug.

It finally provided that "happily ever after" feeling, and made me actually want to replay the game because now I know the ending is finally worth getting to and rewarding.

I'm excited about the future plans for this mod, but even if it never gets updated I'm happy with the ending.

Ok,played through 0.3. Freakin excellent, really creative! Props to MrFob One must say.

Alhough, one question. I might have misunderstood something but, I think I read something about Miranda beeing on the ship at the end if she was the LI of maleshep? Or did I misread something?
I had Liara hugging my maleshep (she was LI in ME1).

Again, really good work! I am impressed!

can we consider this a glitch?

afaik, the flag for the hug was only supposed to be read from ME3, not any of the earlier games... or am I mistaken?

@Yoshimurha Miranda will not appear during the memorial itself, but there will be a specially made slide...

So far, no ME2 LI is actually on board the ship for the hug. Huge technical problems doing that. May be remedied in the future, but not at this point. Flags, meshes, character models, etc, all cause problems here.
Not sure if your hug with Liara indicates "best friend" status, or if its a left over flag from ME1. MrFob obviously is more informed about that than I
And yes there are some special slides for Miranda instead

Do you planned on an internationnal release ?

That will be in the works once the final version is ready. As is, MrFob wishes to focus on polishing the international version before fine-tuning things for the different localisations. You can read more on that and Fob's reasoning behind that decision in the group-discussion here:

http://social.biowar...scussion/82317/

You can already run it with a localised version as is, oddities are guaranteed to appear, though.

:D thank you very much.

now this:

phew, did not get hit by any april fool's jokes (or at least managed to dodge at the right moment...)

@CPTFob: well done on the vid, matey

@all: need some input from ya'll, I intend to buy a drawing tablet (sick of roto-scoping using my mouse... my pour, pour wrists...)

heard the ones by bamboo are decent and affordable...

any of you gals and guys have any experience with one of these...?

right now I'm stuck with the shuttle deploy scene (nursing a nice case of RSI...)

tablet would help tremendously...

thanks for any and all input you can give me

I have a bamboo pen, relatively inexpensive, but super tiny. I'm also just not used to not being able to look down at what I'm drawing, and instead having to look at the screen.

Exactly.
The first thing I thought after seeing the ending was - oh my god... I lost. Because I was forced to do what the Reapers wanted. I picked (partly by accident) Synthesis, when I realized that this was the Reaper's plan. That's what indoctrinated Saren wanted and I made the same mistake - I failed. That was my feeling after the ending - I failed.

I immediately replayed the ending and picked Destroy, but it still felt wrong. I've never wanted to destroy the Geth. However, Destroy seems the lesser of the two evils, but still I was forced to do what the Reapers or the Catalyst wanted. That was really despressing and then no one seems to give a **** about Shepard after the original ending.

Man it just... SUCKS. <_<

If I had any actual artistic talent, I may have been able to answer that.  But it's a bit annoyin when you're trying to draw and then you run off the tablet two inches later.  So I'd call it a good beginner tablet, but not real good for big ambitious art shtuff.

as I said to one of my buddies on deviantart, "I do not draw, at all..." :D

even for photo and video manip, something bigger would be necessary...

so I will take your input under advice and get a bigger one... thank you
