Regarding the whole Normandy rescue scene pre-beam, it is nice to see a few people agree with me :P

I guess it comes off as you losing control of your car on an icy road and starting to slide towards a 500' cliff. Then, releasing the controls of the car to call home and find out what is for dinner before trying to stop your plummet off the cliff.

At least that 1 thing just comes off a a single silly moment. With Star-Jar removed and Shepard living the end of ME3 still leaves me feeling awesome - so I can deal with it.

Now to find a way to remove the Photoshopped Tali picture...oops, did I say that?!

Eric

actually there are mods that replace that Tali picture with pretty much anything you want

I love the scene.

Liara is hurt, and Shep will do ANYTING to get her out of there.
If that means calling the Normandy into a combat zone, she'll do it!

I do agree it is a bit unrealistic, but given human emotions, understandable.

Y

its as stupid, as it is emotional.

calling in the normandy is absolute bs. the ship is in space fighting reapers - there is no time to call in joker. it makes no sense, because the ability to evacuate troops out of the middle of a reaper-close combat, makes the whole beam charge even more stupid (the ec showed us, that it is possible).

the scene could have been handled far better with less bs and lore-ignoring: shepard could have called in a shuttle-evac and while the shuttle flies in (this takes time and is not shown in the sequence), shepard says his last goodbye. shepard continues his/her charge, the wounded squadmate hunkers down behind the destroyed mako, while the other squadmate protects the wounded one with gunfire/powers.

the scene would have had the emotional impact and it would have made sense.

the idea of having an evac-scene is good and makes sense - but the execution is really, really bad.

Didn't the normandy have problems to fly in an atmosphere it just took 5 sek to get to shepard

" the SR-2 cannot land on every planet—due to its increased mass—requiring shore parties to use a shuttle to get to a planet's surface.
"

i hate my keyboard .. i had a scientific essey, that would have explained why it is impossible, ready to go ... then i hit the wrong key. Posted Image

lets just say, that it is not possible to get the normandy to london within 6 seconds (i am generous), without ignoring the physics of the mass effect universe and common sense.

Indeed there is.

My Shepard has a picture of ME1 Ashley now :D

Edit:  Though I imagine it's easier to replace a picture than an entire ship

hey where is that link to the tali mod? Lost it :(
Yeah the normandy thing is odd, but frankly every single thing about the original endings overshadowed that problem... now that I have mehem, the normandy thing doesnt really bug me that much

Thanks to MEHEM the only things left we have to nitpick are whether the Normandy can land on Earth and so forth.

I agree, the scene is out of place. The thing that bugged me about it is when I first saw it, I would have figured Shepard would have told Joker to start blasting Harbinger with the ship's thanix cannon, thereby distracting him so soldiers could make it to the beam. But nope, he just flies on out of there. Then again, other people have a good point with the emotional side of it. Some of the LI goodbye scenes are very well done. Tali's scene made me choke up a bit.

sadly, there are more things to tear apart.

but they are minor in comparison to the starchild and the evac-scene. i am glad, that i can live with the rest ... the original and ec endings lowered my pain barrier.

Nah, the Normandy landing is not an issue. It says "high gravity worlds" in the codex but we don't know what the cut-off is. Maybe the ME field generator is strong enough to allow for 1.0 g. Besides, that "problem" already existed since the Normandy lands on earth to pick up Shep in the beginning of the game. They are even shown shown in atmospheric combat in the cinematic trailer. Even in ME2, the ship can almost reach the surface of Illium, which is even 1.2 g.
As for getting there fast, that is weird, true but also no impossible since we don't know where the Normandy is exactly when Shep calls. All we know is that Joker rejoined Sword. Now after the crucible heads through the relay, a lot of reapers in orbit head towards London and Hackett gives the order to delay/peruse them. It is very possible the Normandy was already close by, following these reapers. No problem here either.

Dr_Extrem wrote...
in this case, we would have the same problem, we had pre-ec: "why are the squadmates suddenly aboard the normandy?"

That wouldn't actually be a problem anymore at all since the Normandy is no longer stranded. Could have picked up anyone at any time after the battle.

Ehi Fob! Have you finished Citadel DLC
yet? If yes, what do you think about the dlc soundtrack? There is a
future possibility to implement to your MEHEM? :-)

Yes I did and I thought it was brilliant, the OST as well, especially "the end of an era". I'll have to see though, no definite plans yet.

The Normandy also was completely retrofitted while on Earth, not a space dock.

Edit: I just realized I'm starting to sound like the people who have been defending Bioware's ending for the past year. It's nice to have an ending you can believe in.

(Though, those people still absolutely insane )

dekoona is a hight gravity world ... earth is standard.

i dont see a problem there. virmire also had quite normal gravity. the old normandy had half the mass .. but the new drive core is three times bigger. disengaging from combat, entering ftl, reentering the atmoshere (directly in london) - in less than 6 seconds without burning the ship to crisps ... respect.

a shuttle extraction would have been better, logical and would have explained the other squadmates appearence on the ship in the ec-ending (they could get back their the same way). but the team decided to land the zeppelin.

but thanks to mehem, it becomes a minor problem.

The Normandy doesn't actually land, it just hovers there. I can accept that part of it and reason that it just wouldn't be able to support its own weight sat on the ground and with everything powered off.

Haha, you mean like that. :D

Anyway, i think bout 100 pages back we discussed replacing the Normandy extraction scene with a shuttle extraction scene (essentially similar to what Cr_Extrem mentioned above). It would be nice but at the moment, I don't see how we can do it properly.

i completed MEHEM just yesterday. All in all, it was a nice straight forward heroic ending. great job. Now why was that so hard for Bioware to make themselves? Even with the latest DLC i feel like ther was so much more they could do with this game.. It's been only a year and they stopped already with dlc?? Did they already make enough money of did they just gave up, seeing that fan based additions proved to be just .. better.

Worse than no more DLC is NO MORE BUG FIXES.

Ashley STILL has a marksman bug.  I can put up with the sound it makes all the time but the times it causes her to pause while "trying" to activate the power...c'mon Bioware!  It's not rocket science.  Seriously.

I wish someone would create a mod that plays as normal until the confrontation with TIM. Basically, the showdown would continue as scripted, but would change the following cinematic with Shepard and Anderson by having it fade to black following Shepard's "best seat in the house" line. After the scene fades, the EC high EMS ending would immediately play (yes, this implies Shepard and Anderson died in the explosion of the Citadel, but I think it's a fitting end for the savior of the galaxy).

It doesn't change much, but delivers (imo) the bittersweet sacrifice BioWare was aiming for without destroying the universe in the process.

If this happened, I believe I could start playing Mass Effect again without feeling an impending sense of dread. :crying:

@-Skorpious-: That would be easy to achieve. Taking MEHEM v0.3 as a basis it would probably be just 5-6 byte changes. I'd have to look up which ones though.

Oh my god, if you can actually make this a reality...I'll have no words,  you would have single-handedly restored my faith and love for the Mass Effect series, something I have been desperately searching for since 03/12/12. :crying:

Really, I'll be forever grateful to you for allowing me to enjoy my favorite videogame trilogy again.

They definetly planned more DLC, but somebody  said "NO."

Maybe I'm slowpoke as always, but is it possible to replace the Stargazer scene with picture like this

(By Badpie) and , for example, "Lost in you" from Citadel DLC?

Funny enough - I've actually edited together a different version of the 'Stargazer' dialogue which uses dialogue from both versions so that it's now a dialogue between a child, a woman, and a old man.

(if I ever bother to get out my microphone and try my hand at redubing, I'd remove the Buzz Aldrin's part and have it just be the kid's father instead)

I second this, would love to see this as the Stargazer scene especially if you pick Ashley as your LI, although it could work universally no matter who the LI is.

Easy enough. Just make a video out of that image that has the same number of frames a the "end004.bik" in the main game CookedPCConslo\\Movies\\" folder, convert your movie to a bik with RAD tools, replace the original end004.bik file with your new one and update the PCConsoleTOC.bin. Done.

@-Skorpious-: I'll see if I can look it up when I am around my files.

Ah true good point, forgot about that.  In that case for only when Ash is the LI would work for me.

Sure, but how to replace the music and delete that "The Shepard" conversation?
