About Shepard's rescue scene. Every character have a line "We got Shepard" in Leviathan DLC, so it can be used. Random soldiers (and friend / LI off-screen) rescue Shepard and LI / friend tells Joker "We got Shepard".

If something like that was used, it would probably have to be EDI, James, or Liara, the only ones certain to be alive.

Alternatively, maybe something can be done with that line a Cerberus trooper says during Priority:  Mars:  "Holy sh-t!  it's Shepard!" :P

People, one requirement.

Some has enought skills with 3DStudio to split a model into parts?

I would require to separate a reaper model into chest and legs to make the animation movements freely, but not even have a license.

Can anyone help? I would provide textures and 3D Model.

Not mentioning that most of the people takes their LI in the beam run to get the farewell/evac scene with them, and so thei're supposed to be in the medbay, still recovering, so it doesn't make much senso to have the LI already back on his/her feet minutes later, looking for Shepard. So random soldier is definately better.

That's true, but since MEHEM already includes EDI as kind of an acting XO for Joker, MrFob can probably use her voice.

I have found the part that targets all the reapers in the galaxy, but leaves friendly synthetics alone.

What? What part? Of the crucible? Is it the part in the back that looks like a bottle opener?

Cause that would make perfect sense to me. You see, I think that beer bottles are the perfect analogy for the reapers. First of all, they are very cold, just like the reapers. Also their interior is (which is beer) is basically made of some organic brown slush, which in turn is made out of countless harvested life forms. In that sense, the catalyst was
actually right, these lifeforms ascended to a more worthy state of existence.I think the beer is indeed some kind of yeast reaper. Vanguard of our destructio? The cycle has been repeated more times than you can fathom?
It all fits. Also, you can probably handle one single beer but once they come in numbers, they'll knock you out cold.
Now the geth on the other hand are more akin to wine. Many individuals come together to form a unique entity like the grapes on a vine. They need to age a bit to actually become good (300 years in their case) and they come in a red and a white variety. So yea, if that part looked like a cork screw, I'd be worried for the geht but as it is, I think they are going to be fine.
Sorry, I got no idea what compelled me to write this (but I am sure at least Greg Zeschuk would appreciate the similarities :)).

Hey C'p'n,
cold?
you ever had a good limey draught?

better than one might think...

btw.. Fosters gives me a headache...

best beers in the world:
1. and uncontested
German beers (especially wheat beers... granted they are not entirely German... :P)

2. Czech beers
3. British Beers (Old Speckled Hen, Old Peculiar, beer so strong, the label should be written in braille...)
4. Norwegian and Danish beers share the same place... ^_^

now back to the regular broadcast...:bandit:

About EDI: I think EDI in the Normandy scenes make sense because during ME2 and 3 EDI and Joker are almost always shown as operating the ship together (even when EDI is still shackled). However, using EDI instead of any other squad mate during the rescue scene puts the emphasis squarely on her, which is something I'd rather avoid.
@Bierwichtel: Being a German, who got stuck with Australian beers, yes, I drink them cold ... masks the taste.

@creapsmantic: If it's just the dialogue you want to change, you don't have to wait for me. Changing audio (especially in the main game) is fairly easy by now. see here.

Also, Another reminder about the upcoming chat session. Now with flyer and everything. :)

There was an addition added concerning non-crew ME2 Love interests: A modified picture of Miranda/Jack staring up at the stars (from EC), but this picture has a Normandy imposed into the shot. You put this in at the very very end. Seemed like the picture would show the Normandy landing instead of it taking off or doing a fly by and leaving Miranda/Jack alone in the field. That's how it looks to me anyway :)

What if you ditched that picture and instead you let the breathe scene music continue (as it would in high EMS destroy) and have the Citadel DLC group picture fade in from black and then zoom in on Shepard and the LI looking at each other on the couch. It already requires the extended cut and most people have Citadel seeing as it's fan service. Not sure if the zoom in effect is possible or not. Technically, the group shot could occur either way, but only zooming in if the LI isn't present at the memorial.

I have a 3DS Max but not 3D Studio.  Even then its an older version as the license is quite expensive.

And in other news today, 25 Apr 2013, I have finished writing the notes for the first draft of the score. I have been putting in 9 to 10 hr days on this six days a week. If it is a nice day I'm playing golf tomorrow.

If I were to print it for orchestra it is about 50 pages long. I feel good tonight. The raw notes sound good to me because I know what they will sound like. Here's what I have left to do:

* put the sound FX track together.

* go back into each of the instrument tracks and put the proper articulations on each section of notes, adjust note lengths, adjust the note velocities (loudness so they flow), then adjust the tempo track in places so that it flows better with what you are seeing, and sounds like it was played by a real orchestra conducted by me instead of played by a machine. (accelerate in places, and slow down in others)

* back up the session, and make audio tracks out of the midi tracks.

* Mix the audio so that it sounds balanced and make a two track stereo out of 25 tracks (one step)

* Master it so that it sounds great at the sampling rate MrFob needs

* Send my authored sections electronically to US Copyright office.

* Post a sample on Soundcloud and hope you like it.

Congrats Julia!!!
Can't wait to hear the sample. :)
And wow, 9-10 hour days, that's tough! I guess it's too late to say "don't work too hard" (and I'd say it without stabbing anyone in the back with an electrified tool :)).
Well, a huge THANK YOU already from my side for all the effort.

@IHJ: I've got 3DsMax and I can import psms and psks, so I guess I could give it a try if you like. Not sure if I can "pull it off" (pun intended) though.

@creapsmantic: Well, gotta finish MEHEM first. After that, we'll see.

@The Twilight God: One thing to be concerned about is the timing. It's esiest if we keep it the way it was (which is the case now). Personally, I don't think that the current picture implies that the Normandy is just flying by and leaves Miri/Jack standing there, looking a bit taken aback. :)
Back when areyouareaper first made the slides, we did try to find a good picture of the Normandy in a proper landing position but we couldn't really find something that would work well to photoshop into that image.
I am also hesitant to use anything from Citadel in the base version of MEHEM since it should be possible to use the mod without DLC as well. May as a mod to the mod at some point.

@BDelacroix & @MrFob

Ok, I can send you the mesh and textures. Is the Harbinger model, and the idea is to cut the model in meshes to give independent movement to its legs.

I mean, it has 6 minor legs and 4 huge ones. The idea is to cut each phalange into a model to animate it using the UDK Kismet's Matinee. Is a hard work, but I'm pretty sure I can make a more fluid movement.

I'm not sure how hard this could be.

By the way MrFob, if is possible to split the textures, we can do the same with the citadel arms. Loading them into the UDK is very easy if they are stand alone. If not, I must take a look if I can do this manually.

Thanks!!!!

@Shotgun Julia: simply awesome!

It was a hell of a lot of work, but I enjoyed doing it. "Good enough" doesn't cut it, even if I'm donating the music. I'm going to do the best I can and hope that you like it. There is a chance you might not. We shall see. I've written stuff and had people like it and other people hate it. There is a section in it that could be changed without a problem. It was one of those "it's 3:00 a.m. and she's gone insane and threw this part in for the hell of it and wanted to see if it sticks." It's a simple cut and paste.

I have a "scratch pad" in the session to the right of the working soundtrack of material that didn't make it into the track, of ideas that I had that are otherwise good, but didn't quite fit. This section is actually longer than the actual soundtrack itself. I kept them just in case I changed my mind because once deleted they are gone.

The mixing is going to be a bear. Once that is done it's pretty easy.

just out of curiosity, what do you do for a living...?

or are you among those fortunate enough who are able to CHOOSE to work?

I was medically retired 14 years ago. It's complicated. Let's put it this way, everything went through without even having to appeal. I have good periods and bad periods. It could be a lot worse. I'm 60 now. In 5 years I'll take my official retirement.

Enough of that....

I need to come up with some names. Names are important. I need to come up with a title for the battle music. It is not happy music. It is more scary, but we're rescuing Shepard. Coming up with names is difficult I could use some help here.....

* "Rescuing The Commander" ; "Shepard's Rescue"....?

Then the scene pans to the battlefield.... and there's a break in the music of about 20 seconds... the wave hits the reapes and they fall. And a new theme starts.... one of victory!

It starts as a march opening with a French horn solo, then goes into the theme Malukah uses in the chorus "I will always remember" around the time the first galaxy map just before the Asari and continues with that orchestration until the end. It can actually have two names, and probably should.

I basically used the theme I remembered from a cross of "Spectre Induction"'; "From The Wreckage"; and "The End" and did my own arranging of it, and changed a number of notes to make things fit the arrangement. I've always thought of this as "Shepard's Theme." (melody by Sam Hulick Orchestral Arrangement by Me) So perhaps that's a fitting name for that section? What do you think?

But we still have to name my victory march....

* "I Love The Smell Of Napalm In The Morning" -- that was a joke.

As for the naming of the soundtrack, the composers of ME3 decided to name the tracks after pieces of dialogue associated with those scenes. Examples are ''We Face our Enemy Together'', ''I was Lost without You'', etc. Maybe the rescue scene can be named '' We got Shepard '',  since I believe that is the line used in Mr.Fob's recent video. Another could be '' Shepard's Return'' , but Mr. Hulick has an unreleased track of the same name for sale, so I don't know what you could do with it.

"You are Not in This Fight Alone"?

Or maybe "Never Alone", like what appears on so many of our MEHEM sigs?

"A World Free From the Reapers"?

Ooh!, better idea:

Shepard Resscue: "We Face Our Enemy Together"
Victory: "Together We Will Defeat Them!"

;)
