Thanks Wwinter.
Other thing is, the txt file that comes with the MEHEM installer advises you to disable automatic game updates in the Origin client, as ME3 updates may break the mod.
The instructions for doing this don't seem work, as there is no obvious option to prevent automatic game updates anywhere within the Origin settings. Been searching the internet and Origin help files for any info about how to do this for around 20 minutes now, but so-far no luck.
Anyone know how to prevent automatic game updates?
Go to the Menu Bar -> Origin -> Application Settings... -> General Tab -> scroll down -> uncheck "Automatically keep my games up to date"
It shouldn't really matter anyways. Bioware is done updating the game.

I think that's for safety but since the final DLC is out and patching almost for certain is done, just skip it. I've never disabled automatic game updates and have had no problems so far.

It just never occured to me to scroll down, would never even have noticed the scroll bars if you'd not mentioned them. Thanks.
And final DLC or no, I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
I chose to replay all three ME games from scratch in order to do the Citadel DLC. Almost at the end - and now I have MEHEM installed. Right now I am on the final part of Priority Earth, just defending the missile battery. Will hopefully see the mod real soon, and provide my thoughts on it.

Now, let me be clear, I really admire the... INTENT and effort behind MEHEM, and as I said before, of course a mod for good endings would be great. What Im saying is I dont think AT THE MOMENT, MEHEM is as good as it could be, and it really could be.
Heres the Mehem video:
www.youtube.com/watch
At 02:40 the voice acting suddenly goes really bad, Hacket sounds... really different, and i dont get why, the rest of the original voice acting in the video is fine, Hacket himself in the epilouge is fine.
Then there is what I assume is FOBs voice acting, no offense to the guy, but its really bad, I think surely there must be a few voice clips saying something like "going in for a pickup", and "we got shepard", maybe something from Cortez.
3rd, the random ME2 clips put in, its seriously out of place, and totally unnecessary, there were plenty of fleet clips from ME3 he could have used.
I kinda feel bad for being nasty about someones hard work, but Im not trying to be rude, just critiquing it.
Thats a brief quote from another topic where I talked about MEHEM, other issues would be some of Joker's lines and stuff not quite fitting, and the whole "offscreen rescue" not really... you know. But I realise the first are minor, and the second would be hard to make a rescuing shepard scene that fitted.
My initial complaints though; did you have to distort Hacket's voice so you could put in your own? Cos I REALLY think you should have just dubbed some ingame voice lines like you did with the rest of it.
And the ME2 scense put in the fight? you REALLY didnt need them, they dont add anything, look out of place, and, wernt there enough ME3 fight clips, due to all the different War Asset fleet battles?
Anyway, I saw you said its a work in progress and hope you keep up the good work!
Keep in mind, the mod is still a work in progress. One could even call the mod we have to be still in open beta (and the fact that so many people still find it far better than Biwoare's finished ending is telling)
In hanging around this thread, I have seen some very exciting news about future updates, including new scenes, music, and yes an on-screen rescue.
If you compare V.1 to V.2 to version .3 you see that the mod gets steadilly better and more polished. and v.4 I'm certain will not disappoint either.

Hmpf. All the Miranda talk has prodded me to pull her mesh out of the game so I can edit her: I'm giving her a butt reduction (and breast reduction). Found this pic in another thread. I think this looks a lot better, she looks more like a professional than a cheerleader with a big "chest". Especially wih the t-shirt and without the fishscales. You think this would be possible to make?
Someone else was asking for the same thing in another thread so I suppose there is a demand for it, at some level.
Sorry for OT.

I went for the "Hollywood Sound". Unfortunately you won't get to hear the full results because Soundcloud, since I don't yet have a paid subscription, converts my wonderful 24 bit 48 kHz to 128 kbps MP3 which kind of sucks some of the life out of it (especially the growl in the bass). But what can you expect for free? It's like free beer. You don't get Victoria Bitter for free. Foster's maybe, but it's like goat ******.
So here are the results of my labor of love. I hope you enjoy them.
Here are some links:
No One Gets Left Behind -- This is the music that is played during the battle scenes in the first part. It starts just after the Citadel opens to flower form and continues to the the battle on Earth. There will be the fly over. Then the reaper lands. Then the wave hits.
Their Finest Hour / Mass Effect Theme -- This starts just as the reapers start to fall on Earth. Our grunt with the pistol gets to be a star. After his scene I'm going to let the game sound effects be in the background. I figured it was time to just let the music cut loose.
I'll try to get a video up on Youtube in the next couple of days.

I really respect the time and effort you put into this and really apprecate it because I really like the MEHEM mod.
But those two tracks...I don't know, the first spontaneos picture that came up in my mind was Final Fantasy 7 in the first track and something like Macros Digital Mission VF-X for old Playstation 1 on the second. It didn't have that typical Mass Effect sound in my respectful opinion. Try find the roots of the Mass Effect sound instead of making something own from scratch.
Again, I respect and appreciate the effort and time you put into it. Keep it up!

Very Nice! They're very different from the "Suicide Mission" theme which I think we've all gotten used to with MEHEM, but still seems to fit. I played "Their Finest Hour alongside a muted youtube video of that section. Coiuldn't see how the sound effects mesh with the music, but I can definitely see how the music mixes with the visual sequences.
Can't wait to do the same with with "No One Gets Left Behind"
Edit: Could also sense inspiration from original ME1 music, or am I mistaken?

The 'Finest Hour' - such a nice ring to it, that - is definitely a throw-back to the ol' ME-theme:
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=yVm_ljDSdwA
Which, in no way, is a bad thing. Although I suppose the best of both worlds would be to leave instructions up on how people who wish to keep the Suicide Mission-track can do so once version 0.4 is released.
At any rate, impressive work, ma'am. Looking forward to the final version in context of the game.

I liked the Suicide Mission music in that part, it felt like victory. But I always have the feeling that it kind of doesn't belong there, because, you know, it belongs to ME2. So I'm really excited how the new music will interact with the cutscenes.

Nice image. That is a texture mod rather than a mesh mod, however. I have started tweaking Miranda (smaller boobs, eliminated the bubble butt, now working to reduce/eliminate the wedgie as per a request - a good one at that!). It may ultimately be for naught though...no guarantee that new/edited meshes can be fully imported into the game. I HOPE ME3explorer development continues and that it will ultimately fix the import issue but I'm not going to hold my breath...but I will keep making mesh mods just in case.
That and waiting for the next iteration of MEHEM.

Then of course everything had to be re-mixed. Ugh. Then blended with the FX track. I like this mix better anyway.
I have the soundtracks for all three games.
"Their Finest Hour" : I thought we needed something that felt like victory, and to me it does. I kept reading that the Suicide Mission didn't belong there and we needed something of our own. So here it is, and Jack Wall used the Mass Effect Theme melody in the "Suicide Mission" since he co-wrote the "Mass Effect Theme" with Sam Hulick.
Sam and I had a nice e-mail exchange, too. I had a bit of a nostalgic moment and spent $15 for a mechanical license with the Harry Fox Agency to cover any copyright infringement and wrote an orchestral arrangement of the "Mass Effect Theme" from the first game to close it out. I do not want to be liable for copyright infringement.
I felt the use of the ME1 theme was fitting since Malukah sings the closing song in the credits and uses the theme there in "Reignite."
"No One Left Gets Left Behind" was the most difficult and complex piece of music I've ever written. Unfortunately I'd been listening to a bit too much Shostakovich, Mahler, Richard Strauss, Bartok, and Prokofiev prior to taking on the project.

@sH0tgUn jUliA: YOU DID IT!!!! Amazing stuff. Unfortunately, I could only listen to it with rather crappy ear plug head phones for the moment but it sounds great. Can't wait to hear the version with all the base in and everything. Feel free to send it to me whenever you are ready. As I said, I am going to be away for another 2 weeks so there is no rush. Just sort out all the copyright stuff first.
Thank you!!!!
@BDelacroix & IHJ: Thanks for taking care of it!!! I am sorry, I really screwed up my part in this. Tried to download the model before I left but it didn't quite finish before I had to go. Great to see it's all worked out though, Cheers!
@Jadebaby: Nice screens, thnaks! I am afraid the "Happy Ending" name got stuck by now. Too late to change that.
@lecho_himself: Thanks for the offer with the subs. I think after v0.4 is finished, I will make a tutorial on how to make translations of the mod. It's not that difficult, really, you just need to know which files to modify. I just want to wait until after v0.4
@Jafroboy: No need to feel bad at all. Critique is always welcome and without people pointing out the weak spots, there wouldn't be any improvement.
Unfortunately, concerning most of your points, I probbly won't change them though, wither technical reasons or because I simply disagree in some matters of taste.
-Hackett's VO in that spot is a line from the game but I need to add some radio effect, otherwise it wouldn't fit wither, I could spend another couple of hours, trying to come up with a better one but I don't thinks it's really that much out of place.
- My own VO is something I actually do want to improve and we'll also have some new ones and other lines.
- Joker lines, I just like, he seems like the guy who comments a lot during comabt and they do make the scene feel more alive (I tried a versio without them and it didn't really fell that great).
- I also like the ME2 scenes. I really wanted to show that the Normady is really participating in the combat and getting shot because in all the ME3 scenes, it kinda looks like they are just flying through it. I also personally think that it's fine with the color corrections. I might try to twiddle with them a little more but I think they are as good as they ever going to be (at least with my skill level in video modifications).
@cfs3corsair: I am not sure how I could improve the videos at this point. I use the original extracted videos from the game, I edit and modify them in the same resolution as the original and I re-encode them in that resolution as well and put them back in. Not sure where exactly the loss in quality happens (might be the bink tools, I have no clue). In any case, there is not much I can do about it at this point.
@Bizinha: Check this out!
Also, I am really happy the people like Poly Morph's slide. I am definitely going to put it in for the non-romance slide. Not sure about the romance one yet since the original romance slide corresponds well with the the very end of Miri-LI-MEHEM. We'll see.
I might be out for a while again, not sure when and how often I have internet these days. See you then!

Ok fair enough. Frankly it isn't a big deal, though it is curious that there is no obvious reason why the vids are going down in quality through the process. Oh well. One question: ShotgunJulia's music is quite swell, but how is it going to be implemented with the new rescue scenes? Will length have to be changed?
