I don't know anything about modding ME3, but would it be theoretically possible to "cheat" and give some other model a Shepard skin for that scene?  Maybe the banged up face with casual chepard clothing???

it's not that easy but I'll keep trying on that issue. maybe we'll figure it out eventually.

hmm must have imagined all those other deaths in the game. thanks wraithful

by that i mean. with codex, and news and all that . planets lost. races on the brink of extinction. half of sword and 99% of hammer lost. how is that rosy ?

Ahh, that's just stats - there's no emotional attachment so for me it doesn't matter.
I assume at this point I can use spoilers in this forum?
If not, look away now!!!

Anderson dying is of course a huge moment, but other than that there isn't really anything else of note other than numbers.
It hit me a lot more when Tali and Shepard just plain murdered Legion (I think I sat at that particular choice for a real ten minutes trying to decide - and making you shoot him each time really made me feel like a piece of crap, awesome scene) or of course Mordin's sacrifice.

yeah true enough. and i am forcing my way through now actually. for omega dlc lol . am at that exact point. staring at the screen wondering what to do

if i destroy them now i wont have to later. and as legion said they aren't truly alive yet so hmm :(

Yes, and he MAYBE "survives" in the least satisfying way posible.  It sucks, people aren't happy because it sucks.  This mod leaves me with the bare minimal amount of closure that I require for a scenario where Shep survives, the original high EMS red ending does NOT.

TBH my biggest reason for getting this mod is the elimination of the Catalyst.  I'm ok with a more bitter ending, even made my peace with Shep's ambiguous survival and the destruction of other synthetics in the original high-EMS destroy.

I'm not necessarily looking for happy, I just want that from-left-field plot monstrosity out of my game :)

Just from reading the description of the mod, I can say that this is EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED FROM THE EC!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This is just...
I have faith in humanity. Thank you, from the bottom of my gamer heart that had previously been broken but is now healed. Truly.

YAY!!! I just tested and confirmed it. FemShep works perfectly (well, unless she is hugging Garrus in which case you will encounter serious clipping :)).
As I suspected the problem described earlier arises from the fact the your save went though Cronos Station pre-EC. If you encounter issues where you suddenly see pre-EC cutscenes (like exploding relays and the Normandy taking damage during the chase) then you need to start playing before Cronos Station (aka. Cerberus HQ).
It's ok to play through the ending and to use your post ending save for that as well.

*has tears in his eyes*

Thank you! Thank you so very much! I can finally reinstall ME 1+2 to play through the whole Mass Effect SP experience again without breaking down in the middle because it was so pointless.

You saved my Shepard and therefore "my" Mass Effect.

AND - here it comes - you gave me reason to actually give Bioware more money for future SP DLCs BECAUSE now I can actually care again about what happens while playing the story.

Isn't it ironic? One ending more makes the whole difference for some people.

Thank you again MrFob for making this mod.

Hi, lovely mod, have to say. However I am having trouble installing, I see others have done it so I must be doing something wrong but I have got to the part where I am to replace things in the cooked pc console. I am right clicking on the corresponding files but nothing is happening, not getting any replace message at all. I have installed the game through origin I hope thats not the problem :(

Origin is no problem. I am running just a normal version here as well.
Are you using the DLCExplorer Tool that is included in the archive? If you read the instructions, you will see that for most files, you will need to use that. You have to right click the files in the main window of the DLC explorer tool and then select the ones from the archive.
I know the install is a bit complicated at the moment, sorry for that. Hopefully we can eventually create an automatic installer.

Ok, well, that is strange indeed.
Check out this tutorial
Scroll right down to where it says "Phase three: put modded files in DLC" (you don't need the stuff above). That is basically what you ahve to do, only with the files for the mod. Hope that helps.

This is honestly pretty awful; I can appreciate the work put into it, but it honestly just looks and sounds like a bad fan-fiction.

Still better than the ****ty ending bioware came up with.

Hmn. I wonder how this mod will show up on BioWare's servers for people with gameplay feedback turned on? Will it ping them as someone choosing "Destroy," or do they have enough granularity to notice that people are playing through an ending that doesn't match any of their existing ones?

Anyway, stellar work, OP. Like you, had anyone asked me about this kind of mod six months ago I'd simply have laughed. I should know by now to stop underestimating the ingenuity of video game fans.

FYI: BSN files are gone. Not enough "artistic integrity" perhaps?

This mod might actually get me to play ME 3 one more time.

I think it will show up as destroy. I am sending you into the red ending. The telemitry is determined right at the start. Only the memorial is synthesis. That is also the reason why you can still see EDI on the wall (which will be fixed soon enough).

@wiccame: Ah, glad to hear it. We'll have to keep that in mind for other people who might encounter the problem. Hope to have a proper installer for it some day.

@DJRackham: You sure? It still shows up for me. If anyone has problems with it, use the hotfile link.

Fob, it's 5:23 AM where I am, and I have work tomorrow morning, but I am so freaking happy right now with this mod.  Also, I can't see the file on BSN either.  Maybe it's not enabled for public viewing?

I started a game from pre-Cronos Station, in a playthrough that I stopped last March, before the EC. The mod install went just fine. Here's some feedback and constructive criticism for you:

-The sound balancing is pretty weird during the cinematics from the opening of the Citadel arms to the epilogue slides. I thought quality was decent for the most part, though voices were a bit blurry, but the music volume was weirdly loud. Maybe because it was originally meant for a different piece of music?
-The memorial wall looks better with custom Shep. Doesn't look quite as meat-grinder-ish
-The Garrus/FemShep hug isn't actually all that terrible in terms of clipping. The top of his chest armor clips through her shoulder, but because of the angle, it's actually ok. At least IMO.
-I did get the really weird, distorted sad!Garrus facial expressions described earlier in the thread. That was my biggest issue in the memorial wall scene. Hard to take it seriously when Garrus's face is contorting like taffy :D
-I also had some weird red outlines to some of the cinematics, Thin, but noticeable around the borders of the screen.

Still working on that ManShep/Miranda playthrough, but I'll let you know the results once I've gotten to the endgame with that. Thanks again so, so much for this mod :)

The files tab is empty, no download links for me. Maybe because I'm on an iPad at the moment, though I'm not sure why it would affect what links are available.

Edit: Okay, not just me then.

I haven't heard about this yet. Man that would be crazy awesome if your ME2 romance shows up at the memorial scene too.

Popping in to give <3 to OP again.

And also to ask if anyone has tested it with a femshep or any custom Shepard..

Looking for feedback.

It's more likely that whomever the game designates as his best friend/most talked to person (probably Garrus or Liara) will be in that spot instead.

Yep, Sable got it right, had to check public viewing. Thanks for letting me know. It's the first time I am setting this up so I had no idea. Should work now.

@ Sable: Thanks for the info. Sound editing is one of the first things on my agenda.
Not sure what I can do abou the facial expressions yet. We'll see.
The red borders are strange though, that didn't happen for me at all. Is that only during the new custom cutscenes or also during the old ones? Ususally the resolution of all bik vids should just be 1280x720, that's how I encoded it. This is weird. Let me know if this is repeatable with your maleshep when you do the playthrough. Thanks.

Anyway,it's almost 1am here, too so i'll hit the bunk. good night!

One last EDIT:
@Mdoggy1214: Sable is right again. Worst case scenario is that you'll hog Javik :)

@Jade8aby88: Thanks Jade! FemShep works fine. I tested mine tonight as well. Just be sure to have a proper EC save.

My love, thank you! My one Shepard not completely mentally destroyed thanks you too. ^_^

Any chance you can fix Thane while you're at it? I'll even write it for you! Margurite needs her own happy ending. :crying:

This is going to be the thing that finally makes me learn how to mod the ME games. =]

It's only during the new custom cutscenes, and only for a few seconds at a time, a couple pixels of red around the borders of the screen.  I've tried it twice now, and it doesn't really seem consistent.  I'll get back to you with more details after I've had a chance to catch a few hours of sleep ^_^
