@Julia -- Very nice! Felt like a single cello part would sound nice over it, but I love the feel of it on a solo piano as well.

I understand there's going to be a rescue scene of Shepard in the middle of the chaos, so I wrote a short piano soundtrack for it. I wrote it Thursday and recorded it on my piano last night. I've already figured out how to make this fit musically. I also know we'll only use maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of the song for the scene, but here is the entire song.
It's called "Shepard's Rescue."
I hope you like it. I think it fits with the game.
I'd have to listen to it against the original score but for the memorial scene it could be nice.

Am I reading it right that there will be a rescue in the new version??
You read right! MrFob and I believe SlipperyHammer are working on a new scene with all new animations. Shows Shep getting picked up by Alliance soldiers.
The sound effects for it are not gonna be sticking around, and neither is the blinking scene.... its a rough draft. But just to whet your appetite...

I can even use the extended version while the shuttle returns to the ship and start up the battle scene at a later point in the music. I think the scene should simply be inserted. I can return to the battle with a timpani roll building from soft to loud.
I'm pretty new at this soundtrack stuff but I've been paying a lot of attention to how they mix these types of scenes. This scene should be a real tear jerker. That was the reason I chose the piano for this. The right notes at the right times. If I need less time for the full song, I have professional level elastic audio and can speed it up very slightly without having to re-record and no one will notice. I'm thinking about carrying the rescue song through to the docking now. Then returning to the chaos. Thoughts?
If you don't mind I'll make some voice tracks with some possible lines. I have some stuff that can change timbre and stuff, plus I still owe IHJ a track. I'll get to that today.

Nice!
Fan-made content is looking better and better every day.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, have you considred adding extra instruments (violins/trumpet/whatever) in the background? (From parts of the official ost or other)
The song is fantastic dont get me wong, but I think it sounds so good that it could be turned into somethng like this with a bit of editing. Just a suggestion, it's still fine the way it is.

I like it. I would suggest keeping it solo for the first 2/3 or so, then crescendoing in a string section to seque into your original piece

Damn gorgeous piece of music there, and it fits perfectly into ME3's already existing soundtrack (in fact, if you hadn't told me that it was a fan piece, I would've thought that it was a leftover track not included in the game).sH0tgUn jUliA wrote...

For me, the blink just doesn't work - partly because of the effect itself (since I don't recall ever a scene in ME3 that's from 1st person.... only time I recall seeing it in the series was in one scene in that crappy Arrival DLC for ME2), but mainly because if it's suppose to be from Shepard's perspective, then the on-screen placement of his hand/arm reaching up is really off then.sH0tgUn jUliA wrote...
I just saw the scene. I actually don't mind the blink. I have a suggestion of where to put it as well. Coincidentally, my soundtrack has three brass chords there, and I can make a musical cut there as well. It's right after the three brass chords here at 2:35 on my video.

ME2 intro - being brought back to life and seeing Miranda for the first time.
That said, I don't like the blink either. It doesn't make sense to be in first person and then have Shepard's arm reach up like that. Unless you're Anderson, and you're like, "Waaaaiiitttt... donnnnn'tt leeeavvee me.... I'm not deaaaddd.... take meeee toooo..."

This is one of those times when I should feel bad for laughing.
My vote (for what it is worth) is against the blink, though there is another first person view in ME2 when Shepard wakes up drunk in the Dark Star men's room.

Though the standard does seem to be third person
Waking up after the beacon in ME1
In the Cerberus lab during the mech attack in ME2 and the lab in Arrival.
The nightmares in ME3.
Plus as noted, the angle of the arm is wrong fro it in this scene.

Actually, I think all the dreams are in 3rd person. The last dream even has the player seeing Shepard from 3rd person while Shepard sees Shepard in 3rd person. A state that I will call 3 squared or maybe Ninth person.
Any psychologists out there want to explain what dreaming in the 3rd person says about Shepard's psyche?

MrFob already cut that from the -- oh, you mean the literal nightmares! :innocent:
So, it seems that basically the only time the game is in the first person is when Shepard sleeps or is waking from sleep. So, this scene WOULD be an appropriate time for it, but the angles of the arms (etc) are so wrong that it's just best to avoid it.

Well, in a couple of scenes, yes. But a more common one seems to be doing a closeup of Shepard's face as he/she wakes up. Which, for obvious reasons, is impractical for this scene.

The think the dialog is unnecessary and only points the bad voiceover audio which contrasts with the quality of all other voice work in the game. It's self evident what is going on.

Finally installed the MEHEM. I thank all those involved, and Mr.Fob, for the work you did on this MOD. I only recently started playing me3 again (hadn't played since March of 2012), to aid in the testing for the ThaneMOD. It was so nice not to play through the ankle biter's scenes again.Much appreciated for your time and work, and looking forward to the next version.
ME3 is such a great game, and I feel like it has more replay value than the rest, it's just that the ending turns people off from playing it again.
I started up my second playthrough and I just can't wait to get to Mass Effect 3 again.

cause it makes mass effect 2 side quest much more impressive

I have talked to Mr. Fob about the voicework for the mod and have signed on to provide the vocal talent for the Marines. I have provided voice work mods in the past most notably in Logan's Revenge of Revan mod for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republe 2. I am a huge Mass Effect fan and am honored to be a part of MEHEM.
I can upload samples and would love to see feedback from you guys so that I can provide the best and most accurate vocal talent.
