What I mean is, we're looking for offset 319054 in decimal in BioD_End002.pcc, so I go down there, and I see 319040, and then 319056. There's no 319054 at all. Does anybody know what I'm missing?
Sorry, but I think you misunderstood my instructions because what you wrote there doesn't make much sense. You are looking for an offset, not a value. In order to do this, you need to use the "Go to" function (
not the "Find" function) of your HEX editor.
Offsets just describe which byte in the file you are looking at/how far a byte is from the beginning of the file. They are just counted upwards so it cannot be that you can find the offset 319056 but not 319054 because 319056 is just 2 bytes after 319054.
To be clear, you are looking for offsets, not values. As it said in the instruction, the value at this point should be "7E" (in HEX) and you need to change it to "7D" in order to mod the mod.

Hope that helps.
For the stargazer one, his instructions are only for v0.2, does anybody know how I could find out what the offset is for v0.3?
This is because the procedure did not change between v0.2 and v0.3. Just go with the instructions that are there. Sorry I forgot to write this somewhere. I now updated the post to include this info.
@Julia: I always thought that the crucible is such a quintessential black box that it can really do anything. in terms of the old Destroy, I think it is very possible that the crucible has some fancy quantum-mechanical effect that messes up an AI's blue box. In that case, according to the odex, powering down won't really help and they are gone. However, since the crucible is really not explained at all, the effects as you describe them are equally valid and since Hackett doesn't mention any AIs in the epilogue at all, we just don't know for sure (although, the fact that EDI is on the memorial wall in destroy does not bode well as far as the BW writers' intentions are concerned).
As for MEHEM, since the only one who brings up the AI problem is the catalyst and since the catalyst is gone in MEHEM, there was simply no need to include the death of any AI or an explanation for their survival as far as I can see. In fact, while I heartily disagree with how things were handled in the original EC (i.e. that the loss of the Geth and EDI was never even mentioned), it turned out to be working really well for MEHEM since there was no need to change anything in the epilogue (well, apart form the geth/quarian slides of course but at least we didn't need to mess with Lance Henriksen's VO).
