Alright, thanks for your help MrFob, I got it now. Thanks again for making this mod, this gave the game the ending it deserved. I was actually almost moved to tears when I played your mod, this is how the series should have ended, and how it does in my head now too. Just too bad that it had to be an unpaid fan that does a better job than an entire team at BW...MrFob wrote...
Sorry, but I think you misunderstood my instructions because what you wrote there doesn't make much sense. You are looking for an offset, not a value. In order to do this, you need to use the "Go to" function (not the "Find" function) of your HEX editor.
Offsets just describe which byte in the file you are looking at/how far a byte is from the beginning of the file. They are just counted upwards so it cannot be that you can find the offset 319056 but not 319054 because 319056 is just 2 bytes after 319054.
To be clear, you are looking for offsets, not values. As it said in the instruction, the value at this point should be "7E" (in HEX) and you need to change it to "7D" in order to mod the mod.
Hope that helps.This is because the procedure did not change between v0.2 and v0.3. Just go with the instructions that are there. Sorry I forgot to write this somewhere. I now updated the post to include this info.For the stargazer one, his instructions are only for v0.2, does anybody know how I could find out what the offset is for v0.3?

is it possible to mod shepards dancing ?
How could that possibly be applicable to an alternate ending mod?
Besides, I love that Shepard can't dance and his friends give him/her crap about it.
Besides#2, that's a slippery slope that could lead to:
THIS
And we don't want that, do we? DO WE?!

@Rapsynrev: Sorry but I think this is not feasible. We definitly can't implement it as game play, we could possible make videos and try to get those in (would have to be two, one for maleShep one for FemShep) and then only showing the characters from the back and shadowed because in that case we can't account for custom faces, etc.
Even then, implementing completely new videos would mean implementing at least a dozen new objects per vid. Remember that we still change most things byte by byte. This would take a looong time to do.Sorry.
@OmegaMortis: Glad to hear it.
@creapsmantic: Some info on animations. I don't see how you could possibly improve Shepard's epic dancing skills though.
@Liedral: Hmm, ok, now I am baffled. No idea what's causing the crash then. MEHEM doesn't interact with any texture mods other than the TOC.bin as far as I am aware and it should work fine with the vanilla version of the game and all official patches and DLCs. Short of a full re-install of the game and trying to see if MEHEM works without the mods, I am not sure what to suggest. I never heard of any instance where someone could run an unmodded game but not MEHEM so that really should work. Sorry I can't be of more help there.

@IHJ: Ok, I see. If the front and the back of the citadel both have the front textures, I'd recommend only showing it from the front in the videos (since it's only going to be in the background that should work fine, right?)

Well, I can try to cut this emissive part. Is just cut and reload until is fine for us
Showing front part is strange on screenplay as Harby takes of from Earth, and the citadel city is faced to the space.
If I don't find a way to do the cut, we can see, but I think it will be difficult to change all the scenerio
Let me check. On the other hand, I managed yesterday to make the effects work for the second Harby scene, where it starts its badassery. If I complete it for the weekend, I will send you a cut recorded only with this, even with Harby voice.
@All
An official helper with audio stuff would be great for the effects/sounds in background, as is a lot of work. Any volunteer?
I promise not to change the track length once recorded

Changing the movements/actions of characters would require creating animations in-game from scratch. Alternate is to try and assign someone else's animation string to Shepard. And as stated before...this has zip to do with the end AND I agree with you wavion: Shep's friends give him crap about it. It would break dialogs.
Besides that, the only animations that I would truly like to fix are from Mass Effect 2, not 3 (ALL the scenes where old squadmates come face-to-face with Shepard so long after thinking him dead and gone...those ALL need correction).
Finally, I'd rather suck the barrel of my gun than go to that...that...horrific dancey pantsy place in that video.

Hello JeanLuc
Its good to hear you are OK!
I still have very good memories about your modifications.
You and Mr FOB and ShotgunJulia are the only reasons i do check in on the BSN.
I left Mass Effect.. I left Bioware.
Mass Effect was great to me ......... (until the endings) ( and the face import failure).
I went to Fallout (Las Vegas) and Simcity 4 and more.
I also went back to Star Control 2 ( There is a HD mod out) and fans are creating a complete new game ( Star Control 2 Project 6014)
Thanks again for making Mass Effect a lot more beatifull!
Take Care!
Emphyrio (Jack Vance) RIP.
greetings from the Netherlands (Europe).

* In at least one of the clips where Joker is talking but his mouth isn't moving or not really synced up, I would just cut to an exterior shot during the dialogue and then back to the cockpit again when he isn't talking.
* I would get some other guys who can do the additional voices a little better. I don't mean to offend, but "we got Shepard" is delivered in about the same tone as, "the pizza's here". I would also record the dialogue coming over a radio. One of the clips is too clear and sounds like someone coming in on Skype over the top of the game, which broke the immersion some for me.
* In the last cockpit scene, I would use the EC one with Samantha behind Joker and one of the main characters standing by him. You can cut out after they say, "Listen to them, we should leave" but before Joker says "Dammit". It would add more texture to that little scene. It makes sense too, they don't know yet if the thing is going to fire or not, and may be sticking around to continue the battle.
That's it, for what it's worth. Thanks again for giving us a live Shepard back with his crew and his LI.

Actually I prefer the scene without somebody suggesting to joker it's time to leave. The fact that somebody said that; and joker complied in the EC, felt like utter betrayal
I can see either scene working, it's just personal preference. I disagree that it is betrayal in the EC. If they stayed when they knew the crucible was about to fire knowing that it might destroy the ship and everyone on board, that would be a betrayal of everyone on that ship they were pledged to protect. But in the MEHEM it's not an issue, Joker's just being nudged that they need to get a move on, and they already have Shepard.

Maybe TNT1991 reads this and can re-upload. Unfortunately I never downloaded any of the images.
@Coyotebay: Thanks for the suggestions.
- Can you tell me which clip exactly you mean where Joker is not synced? I am tryibg to improve this as much as possible but I have a hard time making out where it's really bad for two0 reasons: a) I have pretty bad eyesight and a hard time noticing this stuff and
- I made the voice "professional" rather than emotional on purpose because I imagined a team of hardened alliance soldiers going in to grab Shep.This particular piece of VO will be changed in the next version though.
- No, they know that the crucible is arming from the very beginning of the rescue mission (Hackett says so). I rather wanted to give the impression that rescuing Shep is a close and risky call and they need to get out quickly, no time for deliberations there. Also, in fact, I already used that scene. It's the first one where we see Joker after the Citadel goes to "flower mode". I just removed the squad mates since I couldn't know which ones would still be alive at that point. Removing the squad mate also removed Trainor for some reason so now it's only Joker but I think that's ok because Trainor would be at her post at the time.

SO you'll need to be very specific if you want me to improve things.

If it is possible to improve the lip syncing I would kinda like that as well. One thing I remember specifically was when Joker says "Glad you're in charge, thanks" but his lips don't move when he says "thanks". There was another simliar lip syncing problem when Joker says "Might wanna leave before the blow the normandy in half". And when joker says "C'mon c'mon" his lips only move for half of it.
Not trying to be critical, but thought it might be worth mentioning because the goal is to get MEHEM as studio quality as possible (within reason) right?
Also yeah I want to keep the Joker scene (the one where Hackett orders everyone to fall back) the way you have it, with no squadmates. That way I don't have to point at one and say "traitor!".
