I am helping IHJ by making a sound fx soundtrack for his vids. It's going, but finding accurate sounding fx on the net can be difficult when it comes to mass effect. Frankly, using sounds directly from me3 would be optimal.
If anybody knows how to extract the sounds, please give me a shout!

Hey, I do know of something that might work. Friend of mine modded some sounds in his game, mainly the sounds of his weapons. He had switched some sounds from ME3 with those from 2. When I asked him how, he pointed me to these videos and tools for getting the audio files. Haven't tried them myself, but it looks easy enough (coming from a guy who knows next to nothing about computers). I know its probably not what you needed, but figured maybe its worth a try.

mostly     half  the size of a normal reaper

Hm that seems helpful. Unfortunately, I have no idea what goes where. Hopefully the explosions and other battle effects I can find in a final battle folder or something

I BELIEVE it would not be too difficult.  Are they not just another "character mesh"  listed in a pcc somewhere?  You can scale them in Blender or 3ds.  Scale the size up or down as desired, import into UDK and save as upk.  Import the upk.  I haven't looked at the files concerned with ships or reapers or anything yet so...am I way off?

What do you mean "repair their EC software"?  I've been reinstalling my father's ME3 plus all the DLC for him and the EC is in the list (so I can install MEHEM).

As I was typing this I checked the download progress.  Last I checked it was all 90% and should have finished with all the DLC (finally) in about an hour.  Now it is STARTING OVER AGAIN FROM ZERO!  Did something stupid happen at Bioware?

Does that mean I must stick with the 3.0 MEHEM,
I mean its fine, I can at least play my ending with Liara no problems..it seems though now with no way to repair through Origin that...this is what I must stay with..Aye????

I apologize if this has been asked before, the search function didn't turn up anything. I have a question regarding Mehem installation and other dlc:
I just downloaded and installed mehem and started a new playthrough. Am I able to download and install other DLC(like citadel for example) without it affecting the Mehem?(as in disabling/breaking somehow.)

If it came to it, you could probably go the nuclear option and uninstall/reinstall everything when the time comes.  Extreme.  Time consuming.  But doable.

Yes.  MEHEM only affects the Extended Cut, so nothing else should be changed.  I have From Ashes, Leviathan, Omega, and Citadel and it works fine.

I thought there was a patch integrated in the installer for Leviathan also..that it did effect it..
I have all the DLC also..

Yep, Leviathan is affected as well since it overwrites part of the EC ending if installed. There are also a couple of files in the main game which are replaced.
Just make sure you have all DLC installed before installing MEHEM.
And yea, I seems the repair function for DLCs in Origin doesn't work anymore. So be sure to MAKE BACKUPS!!! (The MEHEM v0.3 installer creates backups automatically when you install with it)

@cfs3corsair: Single gunshots and explosions are hard to get to since they are not necessarily kept in an afc file but just in soundbanks (which we don't have an automated extractor for). However, there are a couple of nice sounds in the mixed background streams for cutscenes. You can usually find them in the afc files that have a "stream" in their name. Otherwise, check the "SFX" afcs in DLCs, they also have a lot of streaming material. Also check ME2. Some good stuff there, especially during the end game. If you use Audacity, you can also isolate channels sometimes and possibly extract single sounds more clearly. Good luck!

If you installed MEHEM with the installer, all you have to do is run the uninstaller that came with it. That will restore your original, unmodified files.  If you did a manual install and didn't make a back-up, you might be SOL.  But, someone said earlier that if you delete the following folders, you might convince Origin to redownload them (haven't tried it myself):

For the Extended Cut DLC:
...\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\DLC\\DLC_CON_END
...\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\DLC\\__metadata\\DLCCONEND

For Leviathan DLC:
...\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\DLC\\DLC_EXP_Pack001
...\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\DLC\\__metadata\\DLCEXPPACK001

After talking with EA support, it seems the techies were not even informed of the Origin issue. They say they will forward it to the next level where maybe something will be done... but I wouldn't hold my breath. Glad I have backups of the EC, hopefully I can do it with Levi somehow...

Thanks wavion ..I forgot that MEHEM installer made a back-up so I do have one..Thats good.....
I never would have installed it manually to much fro me, so I used your installer, hopefully you'll have one for the new MEHEM when it ready..
So when the new MEHEM comes out, you use uninstaller, it puts back your old files, then you can install the new MEHEM..Aye???

So the good news is that I actually did find the sound FX I need inside the game. Meaning I no longer have to deal with stupid attribution 3 licenses. In business!

What's really weird is, having tested this out, I can repair Omega, From Ashes, and Citadel, but not Leviathan or EC.

That is a very strange coincidence.

 
On another note, MEHEM is nearly at 10.5k downloads on the BSN.  Not bad for a game that's over a year old and doesn't support modding

If it wasn't for MEHEM, I don't know if ME3 would have remained on my hard drive.

Well, when I was told of MEHEM by my sis it got me to reinstall the entire ME series.  I had tossed the disks in a box to dispose of or sell.
