Thanks for the feedback everyone! A few things:
- Stars: My plan is to add stars especially in the beginning but to have them drowned out by the sun and the earth, so that they are only visible at certain angles. I am still researching how best to do that though, hope it'll work.
- Earth: Well spotted wwinters99!!! You win the carton full of earth cookies. =] The thing is that earth in this version is just a texture, applied to a flat mesh, put into the right position. As you can see, the texture is vertically flipped. Probably won't do it for the final version though (if I even keep this procedure, see below).
@BDelacroix: That earth of yours looks amazing. If you don't mind, I'd love to experiment with is. Maybe I can also try to give it some scarring from the war, if you don't mind me modifying it. Not too much though, I think from this distance, you would not see even the damage the reapers caused unless they tore out bits of the surface, which are several hundreds of square kilometres in size. Getting 3DsMax models into UDK is no problem. I sent you a friend request, so we can PM.
- Citadel and debris: The Citadel is in geosynchronous orbit above London. Here we see South America and parts of the Atlantic ocean. Once the texture is flipped right, the Citadel should be just behind the Horizon, close to where the Normandy is going. The citadel is a couple of km long structure in orbit (see epilogue slides) and in this vid we are pretty far away (we can almost see the entire planet). I doubt you'd see it. IMO, a similar argument can be made for debbris of the battle that was really fought mainly around the citadel itself und would consist of even smaller objects. Space is frigging huge!!!
That said, I do agree that a reaper carcass might look kinda cool in the scene though it might take attention away from the Normandy which really is supposed to catch the viewers eye in the final scene. I might do some tests to see how it works out.

To be specific, each Ward arm is 43.6 km in diameter and 330m thick :P

Yes and here we see the entirety of the continent of South America which is about 5120 km wide and 7613 km long. I made a little photoshop with a scaled image of the Citadel to illustrate what exactly the size relationship here is.
Looks fairly tiny to me! :P

So looking forward to the next version! Take your time though. Finished the 3rd game with v.03 a few weeks ago and recently decided to start my cannon over from ME1 to fix some few decisions here and there that I regret in the long run. Will probably take me a few months before I get to the point of finishing up ME3 ^^

Gonna be awesome. Did take a look on the extraction vid on youtube. Looks great even if some few details ain't perfect yet (and that's why I assume it's still a WIP). Only bother I had with v 0.3 was some of the voice overs tbh.

So this is really not the right place to ask it, but I'm wanting to try out UDK and can't find any Mass Effect skins/assets/whatever they're called. Can anyone direct me to a place for that?

Someone made it, it's not from the game (if it was, I think BW would've used Tali's default suit and Shepard wouldn't be wearing clothing from the CE, but that's just my opinion)... not to mention that we Talimancers would've known about that scene ages ago if it had existed in the game, lol :lol:

I've been wondering about taking a stab at doing new custom slides for a project of mine for the final scene (altered Stargazer dialogue) showing the future of Shepard and the squadmates - Shepard/Tali on Rannoch (unmasked), Garrus promoting some vid based on his adventures or on a tropical beach, Liara with her father or on a prothean dig with Javik, James during N7 training, EDI with Joker outside the Normandy, etc. Only issue would be that Shepard would have to use his or her default appearance (since it would be a rendered image and not in-game rendered graphics), but this is all still just in the planning stages right now, we'll see what I can come up with.

Ok, you appear to be planning the exact same thing I am.   I've got the summer off before I start college so I have a lot of free time on my hands to work on this stuff too.   So far I've learnt a fair bit about 3dsmax and reconstructed my Shepard in it using the files within the game and I've tried giving Tali a face.... Proving very difficult, but I'll get there.

It would be stupid for us to work on the same project separately so do you want to collaberate?

Got info you and IHJ are working together on some UDK scenes... With both of you working, the scenes are gonna be nothing short of amazing. No pressure... :whistle:Maybe your earth model could help IHJ with some blue refraction issues he and I were discussing.

You arent the only ones to think of this actually. There was a project that was in the works some months ago to make a post-credits scenes for Tali-mancers. I was a former vid editor there. Unfortunately, due to difficulties, the project is in limbo and has been for months. If you want, PM PKChu, the project leader. He might be able to give you people some points to put you in the right direction... or maybe you could collaborate. Who knows?
To all concerned:
Been gone for some days, will continue to be for at least a week. Connection sporadic. So to those I am helping in projects... not ignoring, things are just slow due to bad connection. Will get back on my respective tasks to you people asap

That would be cool. The only problem is that some people would like their custom Shepard's instead of just the default Shepard shown in the picture.

That would be cool. The only problem is that some people would like their custom Shepard's instead of just the default Shepard shown in the picture. 


There are several ways around that.
So far I've come up with the use of siloettes but this then makes the idea of showing Tali's face pointless.   The other idea I had which I think would be better would be using a first person view from Shepard, that way it's even more intimate and it removes the problem.
Another possibility if that fails would be putting a helmet on Shepard which would kind of then give the sense of roll reversal which would be quite nice and we could easily use the explanation that the Quarians would prefer Shepard wear a helmet on Rannoch whilst their immune systems are boosted.

But anyway I feel like I'm detracting from the main point of this thread a bit so I've started a new one here purely dedicated to my attempt at this mod.

I will post important updates still on this thread

But is animation, or just image? :o

I mean, if is animation, I can recommend a scene on a beach, with the sunlight making the figures black. Then, a first plain head of the LI, then another with sunlight black, a kiss, credits.
