Haha, well, thanks for the compliment KieranW but honestly, MEHEM has nothing to do with good writing, I think. Granted, there wasn't a lot of wiggle room but still, in terms of plot, it doesn't get any simpler than that: Hero presses button -> friends get him out -> button press kills all the bad guys -> everyone lives happily ever after. It's not exactly literature material but then, the ME trilogy, while having a very intricate background to everything, always had very simple plots.
The thing is, we should never have gotten into a position where this kind of ending was even necessary. I agree with wavion, Drew had an interesting idea there (If you read the first sentence of the OP of this thread, you know I like it

). Many people say it was bad but that's just because it wasn't at all thought through yet.
To be completely honest, I think the original endings did have a very interesting premise. It's just that they did not fit into this story IMO and that the execution was terrible but they can definitely work (see Deus Ex).
@creapsmantic: If anyone makes them. I just found out that I suck at modelling and texturing so don't look at me. If anyone were willing to help in that regard though, I'd put new reapers pretty far down on the priority list. First order of business would be to improve the assets we can't really live without, like known ship types and textures, etc. But it's all theoretical atm anyway. I am just really glad that Ottamis took the time and made that cruiser texture. Without that, we wouldn't have any allied ship type we can use in close ups (*insert another big thank you shout out to Ottamis here*).
As far as I get it though, retexturing takes a lot of time and effort, so if some rogue BW cinematic designer wants to secretly send me some, my inbox is always open and I won't tell a soul.
@ruggly: Don't worry, just takes a while to get the hang of things. Funny enough, I find correctly importing stuff also the biggest hurdle (I just hate 3DsMax).
