As MrFob mentioned previously you CAN do animation using Blender.  Since the animations aren't imported into the game Blender is fine...and free.

Hmmm.  I did download Blender awhile back.  Will have to make sure I have the latest and play around with it.  Thanks for the reminder--I didn't see the discussion on Blender.

2 years ago, I doubt Fob, IHJ, I, Getorex, etc, or any such would have assumed they themselves had the skills. I know I am making my bit up as I go. But things happen. If somebody asks for help with something on this thread, and you think you can help, volunteer! Help is appreciated


You guys do great work. Unfortunately, I'm still learning game programming in school, and I don't know how much of that even goes into your project. I'll be peeking in every now and then to see how you guys are doing :3

Exactly.  I keep saying it but can't stress enough how much this means in terms of a great game series.  After the original endings and after the EC I just was so appalled they could end it like that.  MEHEM does something BW would not do.  And gives the game back its playability.

V.4 I believe is going to have multiple outcomes based on your EMS (low Medium High) score. Which i'm looking forward to greatly.

My sincere apologies that sound work has not progressed quickly. Due to a week and a half trip to the middle of nowhere, preparing for college, finishing a pilots license... I have been busy. However, tomorrow is looking good, so I plan to get ahead.

There may be some programming... frankly I dont know. How it works for v0.4 is that many people do their own little bits, and then Fob throws it all together. I personally do zilch programming, yet I am contributing.

hi, i'm looking ofr a little assistance with my copy of mehem, which is pretty dam awesome by the way but i get to a certain point in the ending after the catalyst fires and the fleet start makign their way home, where i then get a black screen with hacket talking for awhile and then silence as slides play out and then a black screen that just seem to hang, i've looked around for a solution but had no succes yet in figuring it out

any help or advice would be very appriecated

Did you install before Cronos station?
Did you install manually or with the auto installer?
Any other mods running?
Origin and ME3 Up to date?
Have EC right?
Did you update or change files after MEHEM installation?

EDIT I am gonna sound like a complete idiot but where is the "post new topic" button for the forums? Used it once... now I cant seem to locate it :crying:

To me it sounds like what happens if ME3 is not up to date.  Might want to do a repair install to make sure it's a good installation of the game and EC.

As for your question about the new topic, just a sec I'll look.

EDIT:  You probably found it but it's right above the list of threads.  It might be something weird happened with your browser-I've had it happen to me before.  So might want to restart it.

1st draft for the shuttle drop scene.
Wasn't sure if I should post this here, since it's far from finished and since youtube really seems to mess with these videos (especially the lens dust effect of the sun but also other things) but well, at least I can/would be glad to get some feedback on camera angles, etc.. You just have to take my word for it that the video quality is heaps better on my hard drive :).
Never mind the empty background or that the "dog fight" in the beginning is only rudimentary at this point. I always create the basic outline for the main actors first and add all the little stuff and background later so many of the other ships are just haphazardly thrown into the map at this point.

Huge "Thank you" to Ottamis for the new Normandy textures!!! (Unfortunately the higher resolution is again barely visible thanks to youtube)

@MordicaiBlack: If you are not running any other mods, then as 3DandBeyond said, it sounds like an issue with a game update. Try to repair and re-install. You can also deactivate automated updates in Origin, so that you can make backups before updating anything manually.

Yes, well spotted. I tried to conceal this as much as possible through camera movement (which apparently didn't work :)). Thing is, it's really tough to keep the Normandy moving and to have the shuttle exit at the same time actually. The reason is the interior of the hangar. This is actually just a plate-like mesh with an ME3 in game flycam screenshot applied as a texture (meaning it's a flat image). It's important that this stays exactly in the right place and that the angle towards the camera is correct or it will look weird due to perspective distortion. I haven't managed so far to keep all the angles straightened out and keep the whole thing moving at the same time. I will keep trying though.

Was it about preserving the choice in game (difficult) or just about showing the blue videos instead of the red ones and, say, chosse during install (easier)?
In any case, there is nothing for control planned for v0.4 at the moment, sorry.

Depends. Frankly, if a Blue install-option covered the explanation for it reasonably well through cutscenes - custom VO that explains how the Wunderwaffe changes the Reapers' kill- to a cease and assist-command or some such included - it would work.

Not the first section of a game where the big bad is 'commandeered' rather than eradicated. SC: Broodwar's Terran campaign comes to mind, and I for one liked the finish of that.

the blue ending "Control" can "could" be used for the Renegade MEHEM could this work Mr Fob ?

but  for  now   they are workig  on  the "paragon "  MEHEM     :police:

I had an idea where Shepard would still grab the rods, but obviously you'd have to get rid of there whole vaporizing bit, and  it would just be a strange kind of memory/personality upload to the current catalyst (and it would be extra cool to have that catalyst take the form of Shepard as well).  But that would probably require an entire custom cutscene to do that, and a lot more work/time than people may have.

Nice Vid! Not much that I can say that hasnt already been said. I like the lighting, wish the Normandy was moving a bit in the animation... oh well no biggie. Great job!

Unfortunately yeah, but honestly I don't know if any control ending without the catalyst could even work. I was planning on trying to make a less stupid version of a synthesis ending, but a) I can't figure out umodel still and B) 3DS max is...tough with no experience.

I have no problems at all with the Catalyst, so all you'd really need to do is just have Shepard not disintegrate.

Agreed. Throw in some Abrams-esque camera shake/pan and have the shot go in and out of focus (like many of the other fly-by cutscenes in ME3) and you should be solid.
