IIRC, this happens if you load a save with MEHEM installed that is during or after Cronos Station (Cerberus HQ). You need to use a save before the start of that mission.


I actually made a new character after finding MEHEM. The only difference I can see is that it was a new game plus, but other than that I've had the same install since I bought citadel.


Found this in a ten month old post from Spamtrash:

So when you get to the start of  MEHEM does the scene play out as:

A.
1. Shepard reaches for console, collapses, White light flashes. Goes to Next Scene:
2. Black screen with Shep breathing.  Goes to Next Scene:
3. Crucible Arms open.

Then the game crashes

OR:

B.
1. Shepard reaches for console, collapses, White light flashes. Goes to Next Scene:
2. White Screen, Fade in to
3. Crucible Arms open.

Then the game crashes (with a black screeen).


If
Scene B is what's happening then you will need to reinstall the mod.
Scene B is the original flow of events for an unmodded ME3. This is an
issue with your game being updated by Origin. Nothing malicious.Image IPB

Hi, it looks to me like your game is not continuing when it should load the last mission (right before we see Shep with damaged armour for the first time). This is most likely not an issue with an old pre EC save (that would only show later on in the game and it would not freeze it).
Have you checked out this FAQ? Origins automatic updates can mess with mods very easily, so make sure it's not that.
I never had a chance to test MEHEM with an NG+ save. I never found anything to indicate that NG+ would be a problem and I think I remember people report that it works but I can't 100% sure. If anyone has tried it and it worked (or didn't), please let me know. If NG+ creates problems, I'll still have a chance to try and fix things for v0.4 if I can get a save from someone.

I completely agree MrFob, the fact that the ME3 process isn't labeled as not responding in task manager tells me it's not a serious deal.  I do know my game was completely up to date prior to installing MEHEM. I'm not using any texture mods of any kind, and as far as I can tell that FAQ only tells how to fix a freezing problem related to texture mods, the solution being downloading ME3 explorer. I'm unsure what to do at this point tbh, considering digging through my character saves and seeing if i can find one that's not too far off Chronos station that isn't a NG+. Other than that I'm at a loss. I don't see NG+ being a problem as you said as well.

Hmmm, Origin can do strange things sometimes. Earlier this year, it updated something in my ME3 and screwed up my MEHEM install even though there was no new version or anything. Probably best to be sure and just uninstall, than re-install the mod once (after turning Origin's auto-update feature off).
But since I could use an NG+ save for testing purposes anyway, if you like, you could send me your broken save and I can test it on my ME3. At the very least, I can tell you if the bug is reproducible on my computer. Send me a pm if you want to do that.

I did do repair, which found about 70MB of needed files, and then reinstalled MEHEM with no change. I'd go ahead with the pm and hope you can reproduce the problem. One last thing; I am playing on a new install, my save games are all from my previous install, but when I found out about MEHEM it encouraged me to give ME3 another go, wondering if that may have some bearing on this.

I don't think the new install is a problem. I re-installed ME3 about a dozen times over the last year and everything always works fine. As long as you had the extended Cut installed by the time you git Cronos Station, you should be ok. I sent you a pm.

I'm afraid it came out a little like these action movie trailers that already reveal all the best parts of the movie. :)

So: This trailer reveals a LOT of the new stuff in MEHEM v0.4. If you'd rather like to be surprised when it's time, don't watch it!!!

I put this trailer together in less than 3 hours so it's a bit rough around the edges but I'd rather spend more time o0n the actual mod than on a trailer.

By the way: I am doing some testing at the moment and I could really use a male shepard save with an EMS count around 2000 (the one that gets you  the medium destroy ending where earth is not destroyed but devastated.
Does anyone have one? Would really appreaciate it. I tried to mod a save of my own with Gibbet but even though my EMS count at the beginning of Cronos Station was in the right range, I got the normal high ems ending (even with a vanilla game) so that didn't work and I wasted 2 hours playing through Cronos and Priority earth. So if anyone has a save, that'd be great!

I see one cruiser is low res at the end there yeh? You might have told me already but I've been so snowed under I just don't know what's what anymore. Can you tell me which one that is or throw me the texture files? I'll have a pass at it for you, looks like the only one that's jarring atm yes? If you want, that is.

Glad everyone seems to like the trailer so far. :)

Heeeyyy Ottemis. First of all, a big sorry that I did not have the opportunity to mention everyone who contributed by name in the trailer. Because without your Cruiser and Normandy textures, this would all look pretty crappy. :) I put you in the video description at least. When the actual mod comes out, you'll be in the real credits though.
As for the textures. The cruisers all use your texture (IHJ just added the "Nürnberg" for "my" ship, haha). I guess the ship you mean is the dreadnought at about 1:12 in the video. If you could provide us with higher resolution textures for that one, that would be awesome. I can send you the low res ones we have. But I'll totally understand if you are busy.

@GreenFlag: I love Kootra's stuff but frankly, that is so far above my capabilities that I don't even know how he did it. Making space ships fly in a straight line with a planet (read: ball) in the background is one thing, animating people and creating entire background levels is a whole different animal and would require either a lot of time or people to pull off. Suffice it to say that there are no plans like this for MEHEM.

That's the most impressive fan made character animation I've seen yet. That is very, very good stuff. Some of it appears to be what the game offers but it does look like some manual stuff was done and done well.

I think that's actually inreferene to there now being a Low EMS version to MEHEM.  Which will have...not so much "HE" in the "MEHEM", if you knwo what I mean...Image IPB

@SkullStrife: Yea, sorry. I guess the texts in the trailer can lead to some misunderstanding there. iakus is correct, this is all about EMS. "You think" just refers to what MEHEM users might have thought in the past, that victory was a given, which it is not anymore (although, the low EMS ending will be a bit like Shepard's death in ME2, meaning you'll probably have to play sloppy on purpose to get a low EMS count). Sorry if that seems to misrepresent things. Basically, because I through this trailer together fairly quickly, I just took the first text that came to my mind without giving it too much thought.
At this point, I should probably also repeat something cfs3corsair picked up on the yt channel already. From the trailer text, it might seem like there will be two versions of v0.4. This is of course not the case. Both high EMS and low EMS will all be in one package and the game will detect what you have and show the correct ending for your case.

But one warning right now: v0.4 will be big. it'll probably be about double the size of v0.3, which unfortunately means that we won't be able to upload it on BSN anymore (filesize limit here is 400 MB). I am not yet sure where we'll upload. Our friends at masseffectsaves.com were always happy to host a copy (big thank you for that!!!) but I haven't talked to them yet and I am not sure with the increased sure and all. Most free hosters also have file or traffic limits so if anyone has a good suggestion for places to upload, please post! :)

P.S.: Just to make sure, my inquiry above doesn't mean it's ready yet, just thought I'd ask in advance. There are still a few things to take care of and some testing to be done (still looking for that medium EMS save btw).
