After seeing MEHEM V.4 with my canon Shep,
Well done! To say I am impressed would be an understatement. Cool we got to see a fully rendered Nuremberg!

As a Jack LI, I was very very happy with the final scene.
A special shoutout to Shotgun Julia for her soundtrack. I'll admit when it first came out I listened to it (with the Yt video of MEHEM playing along with the music) I wasn't convinced. Now after hearing it in context in the game it works really well and I thank Shotgun Julia profusely for providing her talents! I still think Suicide Mission works the best for my Shep playthroughs (since I LOVE that song). However it would be remiss of me not to thank her for a great soundtrack this mod deserves.
Now to talk about the new "FAIL" ending..... I love it. It is done so well that it finally convinced me why the star kid is the abomination that this mod fixes through deletion.
How's that you might ask? Well....
When I first saw the Refuse Ending. I laughed. It was so flippant and quick. You tell Casper to take a hike, making a speech that quite frankly was the only good thing to come out of that ending as it summed up what ME means to me, and Lil Deadthingy goes "So Be it." Cut to black. Fade in to Liara saying "Oh we lost.. Learn from our failures..." etc. It just happens. Just "SO BE IT". End Scene.
There was no emotion, no sense of sacrifice or honor or anything. It had no heart. It felt like the writer got unhappy when you didn't "play the game" and as a response went "Ok I'm leaving. You lose. Lolololol."
This new "FAIL ending" provides all sort of emotions. It does this by showing.
You see the ships being destroyed. You see Joker and the crew coming to terms with Shep's death and their own doom. The mod comes full circle of erasing Joker's cowardice by him and the crewing acting like heroes, just like in the High EMS ending with saving Shep, and showing them taking down the Reaper. In the end that whole ending was........satisfying.
The official Endings are the opposite. They tell but don't show. This is no better highlighted than with the conversation with Space Brat. You talk to Glow Boy. He spouts exposition and tells you what will happen. Shep replies. You are never shown how the Crucible works. You never shown EDI and Geths deaths, how Shep survives, etc. Granted the EC does show you the consequences of your actions. But too many plotpoints, including the purpose of the Crucible, are explained through telling.
Removing star child frees the Ending to visually explain to the player what happens, which I think is an important advantage that video games have at their disposal.
whew....
Finally if you haven't already download the Citadel Epilogue mod!! FInishes up MEHEM story together nicely.
Thank you all again for doing this.
