Sooo....
Reinstalled Origin AND Mass Effect. Saved the DLC from previous mass effect installation and put it into the fresh installation
So I am confused. I press install MEHEM v0.4 and it says MEHEM already installed. But then I use uninstall, and it says it cant because MEHEM file not found :(
Help

Can you redownload the DLC instead of placing it in the fresh installation? I had a problem with the EC DLC until I repaired it.

So far I have reinstalled Mass Effect, Origin, and repaired the DLC. I could try redownloading DLC... my internet is sucky though so that could take hours. Or days :/

EDIT Wait a minute, seems origin is redownloading Leviathan as a result of it being corrupted. Huh. Maybe there is my problem, considering MEHEM can be linked to leviathan...
NM. Just found an old leviathan DLC backup, replaced the one being repaired and then ran the repair function. Everything appears to be in order
And yet I cant install...
What am I missing?

Thank you for all the comments! On behalf of everyone who participated (unless they want to post themselves :)).

I second that, you guys rightly deserve a vacation, take time off.

Haha, I had to laugh at that. I mean, i am doing this in my time off. Now it's time to get back to work. :D

As for the install: Yes, if you have MEHEM v0.3 installed, run the uninstaller first. If that gives you trouble (maybe because Origin updated your game in the meantime or something), go to Origin and repair the main game, the EC DLC and Leviathan.

Extra nice of you Fob to stick me in the mehem v0.4 credits, but you, wavion, etc etc etc did almost all the work and deserve all the credit you guys get. Saw the vids, I must say I really really like how this one turned out

Kudos to Captain Fob and crew, awesome job. Can't believe how much the new animations add to the overall feel of the mod, especially the extraction part (plus the voice work).

Yep, I cried at the ending again...but this time it was tears of joy. Reapers defeated, Shepard rescued and Kaidan given the chance to hold him again as promised.

Mission accomplished.

A heartfelt "thank you" to MrFob and everyone connected with MEHEM for such outstanding work!

Nice! Which ones did you get so far?
I am asking because I only had very limited opportunity to test this so far.
Most of the emails were written by frvpan by the way, who IMO did an incredible job of capturing the characters. Thanks frypan!

I like that there is a small feeling of accomplishment even with the low EMS ending. Afterall, as everyone says, it's only a game and you shouldn't feel bad for finishing it.

Wonderful work MrFob and thank you to everyone else who contributed.

Hope you guys don't consider this spam or anything, but with the release of MEHEM 04, if there are some of you who still haven't played ME1 and/or ME2 (or have them only on XBox/PS), they're on sale on steam today for %75 off - together for less than 10 bucks.   With MEHEM, the trilogy is a beautiful thing.

Great stuff MrFob, and well done to all the technical folks. I'm partway through an ME3 play myself and am looking forward to the ending. Having not played Citadel before, I also look forward to Deager's ending mod being my canon.

The emails are a small touch, but MrFob and I discussed the meaning behind them at length. We hope they help establish the right tone for the game - and rectify one glaring piece of awfulness!

Emails look good and I think are well written from the 3 or 4 I've seen. Small touches help make the difference. Nicely done.

I usually only leave comments at the Youtube videos, but it's definitely worth repeating here that this mod is truly excellent, exactly what Mass Effect needed, deserved, and was meant to be. You and your team are all guddam heroes in my book. I'm still holding out on downloading and playing this until it's in a fairly complete state, even if that takes quite some time, but just watching the videos is incredibly gratifying. We're all behind you, Mr. Fob. Keep up the good work.

Oh, as a suggestion--I saw a couple pages back that you're thinking about integrating the Citadel Epilogue party mod thingy into MEHEM. Fine idea in general, but I actually kind of like the events of the Citadel DLC where they are in the timeline, so it might be nice to make that optional instead of mandatory if and when that time comes. Just a suggestion, though; I'll pretty much take whatever you give regardless and like it very much.

After seeing MEHEM V.4 with my canon Shep,

Well done! To say I am impressed would be an understatement. Cool we got to see a fully rendered Nuremberg! :) As a Jack LI, I was very very happy with the final scene. :)

A special shoutout to Shotgun Julia for her soundtrack. I'll admit when it first came out I listened to it (with the Yt video of MEHEM playing along with the music) I wasn't convinced. Now after hearing it in context in the game it works really well and I thank Shotgun Julia profusely for providing her talents! I still think Suicide Mission works the best for my Shep playthroughs (since I LOVE that song). However it would be remiss of me not to thank her for a great soundtrack this mod deserves.

Now to talk about the new "FAIL" ending..... I love it. It is done so well that it finally convinced me why the star kid is the abomination that this mod fixes through deletion.
How's that you might ask? Well....

When I first saw the Refuse Ending. I laughed. It was so flippant and quick. You tell Casper to take a hike, making a speech that quite frankly was the only good thing to come out of that ending as it summed up what ME means to me, and Lil Deadthingy goes "So Be it." Cut to black. Fade in to Liara saying "Oh we lost.. Learn from our failures..." etc. It just happens. Just "SO BE IT". End Scene.

There was no emotion, no sense of sacrifice or honor or anything. It had no heart. It felt like the writer got unhappy when you didn't "play the game" and as a response went "Ok I'm leaving. You lose. Lolololol."

This new "FAIL ending" provides all sort of emotions. It does this by showing.

You see the ships being destroyed. You see Joker and the crew coming to terms with Shep's death and their own doom. The mod comes full circle of erasing Joker's cowardice by him and the crewing acting like heroes, just like in the High EMS ending with saving Shep, and showing them taking down the Reaper. In the end that whole ending was........satisfying.

The official Endings are the opposite. They tell but don't show. This is no better highlighted than with the conversation with Space Brat. You talk to Glow Boy. He spouts exposition and tells you what will happen. Shep replies. You are never shown how the Crucible works. You never shown EDI and Geths deaths, how Shep survives, etc. Granted the EC does show you the consequences of your actions. But too many plotpoints, including the purpose of the Crucible, are explained through telling.

Removing star child frees the Ending to visually explain to the player what happens, which I think is an important advantage that video games have at their disposal.

whew....

Finally if you haven't already download the Citadel Epilogue mod!! FInishes up MEHEM story together nicely. :)

Thank you all again for doing this.

Thanks RPGenius! When and if we can integrate the CEM into the endings, it will definitely be optional. After all, not everyone might even have the Citadel DLC.

About waiting for a final version: I don't know if you read my post on the last page but I'll just repeat it here for everyone anyway:
There is one major addition in the works at the moment and that is the integration of IHJ's Harbinger's End mod. Once that is done (and hopefully will not be too much longer until it is), all other additions for v0.5+ will be things like slight adjustments to smooth out some animations, improve some textures in the the videos, potential bugfixes, etc. So all in all, I consider this version as very close to being final. Just saying, I wouldn't want anyone to expect another overhaul as we have done between v03 and v0.4.

@creapsmantic: I am not sure actually. ;)
The wiki guide seems to be a bit wrong on the numbers. You do need to be low enough to get earth devastated in the original endings. With a Shep with 2601 EMS points, I still got the good ending. With another one with 2087, I got the low EMS one so it's somewhere in between.

@SpamTrash: Thanks for a very nice post. I am glad people seem to like the low EMS ending. I put quite a bit of effort into that one. My original idea was to have a conversation of joker with someone of the crew to explain the entire situation. That is (spoiler alert): Liara's time capsules have to remain undetected, even if the reapers rule the galaxy for the next 1000 years or so. Probably some of them will be discovered but at least some of them have to survive. If the Normandy (and EDI) were captured, or if anyone of the crew were indoctrinated, they would find out and get the locations of the capsules. That had to be prevented, and thus the Normandy's suicide run.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to make this work with the pieces of dialogue I had from these characters so I had to go with the flashbacks. I was trying very hard to show that Joker doesn't make the decision to go on a suicide run lightly or that he makes it alone (hence the interaction with Traynor and Adams, who represent the rest of the crew).
Also, to make things clearer, we added an email to the game that is supposed to "prime" players to this situation. I really hope it worked.
Also, in a morbid way, it was really fun to smash the Normandy to pieces.
Thanks again to BDelacroix for the help with taking the model apart.

In that case, Mr. Fob, I'll hold out for v0.5 and download it then, unless you decide on any new big plans for the mod between now and then. That actually makes me a little MORE excited, as the end of my long wait to enjoy and derive satisfaction from ME3 is nearing an end. I can hardly wait. Thank you yet again for this.

MrFob, I can't wait to download this tonight. One question though, do the previous instructions for using MEexplorer to replace Shepard's injured face still count, or must something different be done.
