@AVPen: Yes, that possiblity exists. ;)

@ Almostfaceman: That's an intersting trick. THanks for sharing. I have also been following your discussions with giftfish in the ThaneMOD thread. All very interesting to see how the mods interact. From what I can gather, texture mods should work in theory if you build your texplorer tree after installing story mods like MEHEM or CEM (because when building the tree, the program basically extracts the DLC files into a cache folder, to then apply textures, so when MEHEM is already installed, it should extract the modded files and things should be fine). However, apparently (and I don't know why) building the tree with modded files is also a problem for some people. So yuor workaround is a pretty neat way to go for the technically adept. All others should probably just stay away from DLC texture modding when using things like MEHEM/CEM. (modding the main game textures should be fine though, I think. Sorry I can't be more specific but texture mods are not really my field of expertise (I am planning to run some of Ottemis' texture mods for my next playthrough though and hopefully I'll gain some more insights in the process).

@MrPh11 and Locutus_of_BORG: I now have one confirmed case of NG+ not woeking with MEHEM but working without (see my conversation with reapercree1390412082 in the comment section here). I am currently not sure what causes the problem but I will look into that bug for the next version. In the mean time, if NG+ doesn't work for you, try to uninstall MEHEM and sit through the original ending once in order to get the save right. Sorry 'bout that issue.

KFreon, the guy who does a lot of debugging over at the the me3explorer forum, actually said to not build the tree after the MEHEM mod is installed. I don't pretend to understand what's going on, either. I'm a little tech savy, but I'm no coder. But hey, I'm not complaining, we're on the bleeding edge of ME modding here, and I'll admit I never expected to see anyone mod this game or the other two past texmod.

*Not* after? Well that would explain a bit. I'll try a different direction then, if I end up having to do another nuke and pave of my ME3 directory.

@karlheinz87: The original theme you still found in the MEHEM file is
not the right one (there are different version with different timing.
The easiest way to do this is to use a HEX editor to extract the
original theme from the vanilla DLC_CON_END_SFX.afc and then use the HEX
part of the music tutorial I linked earlier.

Thank you for the advice, and I tried to find the correct one according to your tutorial here: http://me3explorer.f...-music-t55.html

I found in BioSnd_End002.pcc only one Wwisebank with the offset 65455. Then I looked with three different Hex editors in this file, but offset 65455 is not there. Ok but by the way, I just ignored this and found the BKHD section starting in the near where 65455 should be in 65512.

Then I did this step: "I recommend that you copy the whole sound bank binary data...."

I extracted from vanilla DLC_CON_END_SFX.afc my music file and converted it with wwise correctly.

Then I have to find "my" music in asset explorer. I opened BioSnd_End002.pcc and found only "mus_end003_08_reaper_destroy_earth_destroy_wav" and  I opened it in PCC explorer, covertet its ID 106048229 into Hex (3F 35 AC B5) and serched for the reverse 5B CA 53 F3 but I cant find it!

I'm stuck myself with a music edit for the first part of the ending. However; I may be able to figure out the concept by looking at the Julia and Suicide versions together and finding the differences. Then I may be able to understand the instructions. The instructions are written properly but with me being a bit of a moron with this stuff I'll need to attack it a different way.

Update. Oh yeah, I got it. I hope this helps you. I'm covering the part which got me stuck and it sounds like it might be the same for you.

Hey wonder if someone might be able to help me out here
So I was attempting to record another round of MEHEM with a custom face for maleshep as per request (Got a slight backlog :/)  I took the Gib editor, set casual appearence to false, and replaced the face code. Well, no matter what I do, it always reverts to default maleshep or my original custom shep no matter what save I use in the game. Any flag I missed?
Thanks!

@Blad3Zer0 (and Chroptus): The best way to go is to uninstall MEHEM first with the uninstaller (if you want to be absolutely really sure, then delete your ME3 install directory now to "nuke it from orbit" so to speak :)), then repair you game via Origin and the go to the game details in Origin and repair both, the EC and the Leviathan DLC. Now, before you do anthing else, go to Origin's application settings and turn off the ckeckbox for "Automatically keep my games up to date" (because Origin like to reset ME3 with updates, which will screw up any mods). Now you should have a completely vanilla game and you can install MEHEM v0.4.

Just did that today, no change. I double checked to make sure automatic updating of any kind was disabled. Only mod installed at all now is MEHEM, and it is *still* happening.

Hey, sorry late response, but what i initially had to do.

1.Clean game, no origin update ofc.
2. BACKUP EVERYTHING
3. Run ME3explorer generate tree structure + from DLC, then BACKUP "texplorerDLCCache", extracting and such takes to much time :P
4. Install mehem with installer,
5. Remove the DLC_CON_END folder from "texplorerDLCCache" (had black textures of EDI, JAMES and LIARA in the memorial scene.)
6. Install all optimized mods from this page http://me3explorer.f...d-tpf-t610.html
7. Run optimize toc bin main game, and all dlc folders.
8. BOOT THE GAME, check if all texture mods are ok, load dlcs etc. EXIT game.
9. For some reason even after this procedure, mehem didnt work anymore. so i did a MANUAL install of MEHEM.
10. install extended anderson conversation, and additional love interests. Run toc bin updater of everything. Start the game. Everything works.

I dont know if i can skip certain parts here, but i took the safe route.

So, what's the status: are we going to see a V1.0 one day, MrFob? :)

Yeah, I'm still alive. Just run out of topics to talk about and the only -real- topic I have in my mind is a full blown reboot of the series instead of moving on to a second, new series w/o Shepard'n'co.

Right, but seeing as I had no texture mods installed this time around, I shouldn't have had problems anyway. I don't understand why it's persisting regardless. I should also mention that my issue only happens when I try to get the low EMS ending.

Well 0.4 is a substantial update to the mod.

New scenes, music, etc.

With a less-than-optimal outcome if your EMS is low

;)

I kinda like the low EMS outcome. No trade offs - good job. The CGI stuff could use some polishing, but it's already great stuff :)

*sigh*

Good ol' damn times.

The CGI is certainly something MrFob will keep tweaking. The official, professionally made videos are pretty nice and I'm not sure if MEHEM will ever match them but who knows, lots of this stuff didn't seem possible when ME3 came out.

You got me wrong: I wasn't critizi... criticizi ... wha'ever, too lazy to look for the spelling in my dictionary, it's 2am ...

What I wanted to say is: I like 'em. They're simple, they're far from being perfect, but those CGI vids are good enough to tell the story. And more impressive: they're done with limited equipment by dedicated fans. What more do you want?

(I can tell you: I want a full reboot. But that's a totally different story.)

Heh, I really didn't take it as a knock either. I just happen to know he wants to improve them further and I completely agree with you that they tell the story and I'm not left wanting more...the trilogy ends in spectacular fashion.

Speaking of which, this is my fan made version of MEHEM thanks to the help from Fob and others over at me3explorer. Basically my perfect ending now. Woohoo!

My guess is it's set to true already but it could be the solution for this project.

Well, I just finished the ending. Thank you so much for all your hard work on this mod, it was wonderful.

My only criticism at the moment, probably one that has been pointed out before, is that some of the private messages could use proofreading. There were quite a few typos ('incorprate' instead of 'incorporate') and missing capital letters/punctuation (e.g. repeatedly referring to 'the crucible' instead of 'the Crucible' as consistent with all other in-game text), and some of the messages were a little rambly.

Still, it's a very minor quibble in what was otherwise an awesome mod. I'm very grateful that you have offered so many players a chance to see the kind of ending they worked so hard for.

Oh, im on a low ems insanity run now, tho still in me2, so i cant help you yet, but did you try the manual install? for some reasons i kind of remember that was the working way for me, dont remember if i testet the ending with or without mods, hehe was tired of the vanilla and install again job.. it takes about 15mins max.

I like your custom version. ME3 Explorer has made so much possible. We've gone from replacing simple textures to modifying in game content to brand new endings. Imagine if ME3 had a toolset like DAO

Yes, manual install in each repeated attempt, no other mods, low ems target, same result. I'm actually starting to think it's a conditional issue.

Update: In fact, it may have something to do with the way the version of MOAM I was using screwed around with the basegame war assets.
