Impressive, I like the changes you did. Well, my happy ending would look a bit different 'though. But you definitely hit the nail here. Good job. :)

Thanks. My main purpose was to show that others can tweak what's already there if they'd like.

MrFob has great tips here, with the 7th page covering the movie edit, and even the more difficult music edits aren't as bad as I thought once I realized a different way to do it. Granted, it depends on how much an individual cares.

The truth is, MEHEM is fantastic as is and this was mostly for fun and just personal preference. It's one thing to edit the framework but completely different to create it like Fob did.

@ creapsmantic

Why don't you ask Harbinger why he always called himself "the Harbinger?"

This such an amazing mod, first off thank you for all your hard work in making this mod. I havent played any mass effect game since the extended cut came out( what was the point?) Now because of your work you have restored my love for this trilogy, Bioware should be paying you...seriously! Will be waiting anxiously for new versions of this mod to appear, Thanks again!

What's the bonus change from v0.3 to 0.4?

That particular bonus has never been revealed as of yet publicly

aaaaannnnd I hate to do this again but how does one use gibbed editor to swtich from Kaiden being alive to Ashley? For some reason the game is not making the switch. I specifically switched the rescue status of ME1 using bool codes, I specifically changed the checkmark from kaiden to ashley in the me1 plot section. Then in ME3, I unchecked kaiden being aquired or in my squad, and put it to ashley. What am I missing? (Oh yeah save edit takes place right before Shep has his final conversation with TIM on the Citadel if that makes any difference)

For people who look at the files in the sequence editor, we know the answer. But, it's a secret probably hidden so well that nobody may ever find it by just playing with its current requirements. However, like MrFob said, the first person to capture video of it and post it will have bragging rights and who knows, maybe someone will stumble on it.

Yep, the secret ending has not been discovered in game by anyone as far as I know. It's basically pure chance to get it without looking at the files though since your Shep has to match a very specific set of conditions. Still, if you can record it and link it here, eternal fame shall be yours. :)

@Chroptus: That's a pretty good procedure but be aware that there is pcc file in Leviathan, that is changed as well and that should not be altered by texture mods.

@Blad3Zer0: Not sure what's happening on your end. You are trying to use MEHEM with MOAM though, right? Maybe try to run MEHEM on it's own and see if that fixes the problem (although I am not sure why MOAM would cause such problems).

@CptData: Hey, nice to see you again around here! Well, the CGI scene are my first stumbeling steps with UDK. I may improve some of them in the future but I guess some of the imperfections is stuff we just might need to live with. It takes me a long time to make these scenes and often, very small details can take the longest amount of time. For example, during the final white explosion of the low EMS ending, you can see a reaper to the right which turns away as the core overloads and then catches fire as it is swept up by the explosion. That little reaper there took me almost an entire day to get just the way it is now. I am not sure how much more time I want to send on little things like that. I knwo they can really improve the overall result but it is a bit of a chore. However, a few things, I do want to improve for sure, e.g. the final Normandy flyby in the high EMS endings that we discussed on the last page.

@Deager: Nice going with the changes and with elaborating on my - admittedly convoluted - Tutorials. Describing this stuff is not exactly my strongest skill.

@cfs3corsair: Switching from Kaidan to Ash is a real pain. I did it once with Gibbet but it only worked for the LI spot. I am not even sure if all the variables are even available in Gibbet. Might be easier to get a save from someone and change other parameters.

MOAM, version 2.6 of MOAM anyway, alters a number of basegame war assets, increasing their value to various degrees, some of them ridiculous (Former squadmates, for example, get scores of almost 10000) and it's obvious it was meant for players who hated the hassle of managing Galactic Readiness via multiplayer. So, yeah, I'm going to try a run-through of MEHEM without MOAM, since the effects of the war asset alterations *stick* in the gamesaves.

I see, I see, Mr. Fob. Yeah, SFX are incredible hard in CGI vids, especially if you lack proper libraries with such stuff. I don't have 'em either :(

Keep it coming, looking forward for the next version =)

Mh, I've been having a strange issue just now:

On the Citadel, after Anderson passes away, Mr Hackett will chime in rather than Joker.

Subs are fine and other than that the scenes work, smoothly transitioning through MEHEM's .biks. Extended Anderson-dialogue works smoothly, too. I did the manual installation, which file would likely be at fault there?

Mr. Fob, I mentioned a few pages back during your absence that I would be willing to do some proofreading for the emails that MEHEM adds. I imagine you didn't see it at the time. Would you be interested in that at all? I'd be happy to do it if you wanted; it's the only contribution I can make to this great project.

I think it has to be the DLC_CON_END_SFX.afc file. It's the only file I see in the manual installation which holds audio files. Replace that and see what happens.

Went and did that, even though I am fairly certain I did replace it before as well...no difference, though.

I did opt to use the .toc-bin updater for DLC to check (not check and rebuild) the .sfar rather than replace it with the .toc-bin within the zip. Going that route didn't do it either. Very odd.

Other thing I notice in-game is that for some reason I can't start DLC-content. Neither the Citadel-, Omega nor Leviathan-hubs show up on the Galaxy-map.

...this wouldn't have something to do with Texplorer, would it?

Edit: Replaced the DLC_CON_END_Int.afc too, still no difference.

...Guess it's time to roll back to vanilla-files. >_>

It's in DLC_CON_END_Int.afc. That file contains dialog audio. The SFX file is the music changes.

Well, I managed to fix it now on rolled back .sfar of EC and Leviathan.

I may have overreacted with the DLC supposedly not initialising, they only do get added to the journal when reading the mails, correct? :S

Thanks for the info at any rate, guess I need to snoop around some more as to what exactly caused this...

[/quote] Heh, I really didn't take it as a knock either. I just happen to know he wants to improve them further and I completely agree with you that they tell the story and I'm not left wanting more...the trilogy ends in spectacular fashion.

Speaking of which, this is my fan made version of MEHEM thanks to the help from Fob and others over at me3explorer. Basically my perfect ending now. Woohoo!

Great one.The changes made are just right.

Since you had requested this over on youtube and MrFob is ok with it, here's the version I made available for download.
http://www.nexusmods...ect3/mods/197/?

As a note to all people here, this mod is not a knock on SlipperyHammer or Fob's choice to include the rescue scene or any music choices. Rather, this is just my preference for the ending and since someone asked if it was available I've made it available.

@Blad3Zer0: That may very well be the problem. The War Asset checks I implemented in v0.4 are pretty straight forward but messing with them could cause all sorts of issues since there is a fair bit of interaction between different checks in different files where the assets are concerned.

@The RPGenius: Sorry for missing your earlier post, must have slipped by. So sure, from my side, absolutely go for it. I think frypan said before that he is also happy with some proofreading so that would be great actually. I am really bad at proof reading things and didn't really take the time for it here either :(. Also, English is not my native language so if you send me corrected versions, that'd be great and I will include them into v0.5

@Chashan: That seems like a really weird issue that you had there. Since everything else worked, it couldn't have been the LOC_Int.afc either (that would also have messed up your memorial scene. Mut have been something with the pccs but no idea what. Ah well, good thing you could fix it though.

@Deager: Finally had a chance to watch your new version of MEHEM. Works really well, I think. I do really like the ME3 theme music during the slides. If you are ok with it, that might be something to implement for v0.5. For the music during the initial part, I think your choice is on par with Overlord but obviously I wouldn't want to cut the "ShepGrab".and as for the credits, well, I'll stick with Malukah. ;)
But it's great to see so many people picking up the torch and starting to make more and more mods. Keep 'em coming, everyone! :)

You might well've made the secret ending so fiendishly difficult to get, that no one will ever find it.  Image IPB
