Oh my.  I hope he hasn't met with something unfortunate.

What, like Bioware disappearing him for making a better ending than they did?   :D

I do hope he's okay. I'll admit, a small fear of the mod being abandoned went through me (like so many mods on Skyrim) but he doesn't strike me as someone like that. He's probably taking a much deserved break from the mod, or things got crazy at work (I can attest to that, this past summer for me at work was insane.) Though it is good to see everybody is still here. ;)

I'm sure that things are just busy for him.  Mr. Fob is a dedicated fan of Mass Effect, like the rest of us.  He's committed to correcting Bioware's arrogant blunders as best can be done.  We just have to sit tight and wait for him to finish, difficult though that may be.

Well whatever it is, I'm sure that it's important and that he will be back in all good time. Fortunately, MEHEM v0.4 is so good that it totally keeps players happy till the next update.
PS. I have been gone all summer. Lots of real life adventure, but I have been totally out of sync with this thread. Anything important I missed in the last 4 months???

I don't think anything really new in the past 4 months worth mentioning. Pretty quiet.

Hey everyone. Haha, turns out, reports of my indoctrination are greatly exaggerated. :)

Sorry I disappeared there for a while. In between changing jobs, moving half way across the planet (quite literally), doing some recreational traveling and getting a new computer, I haven't seen much of the internet for months.

Thought I'd make a quick post, although I don't really have a lot of news to tell. Basically just saying hello and that I still want to continue working on ME mods when I have time although it may be another month or so until I get around to actually start doing things. There is just too much going on in RL at the moment.

However, the plan still is to make a JAM style installer for MEHEM, a German version (which I had almost ready before my break, thanks to Glutzahn, to whom I really should apologize for leaving this hanging in the air), and a few other tweaks here and there - video quality, text corrections (sorry to RPGenious, who proof read the mails ages ago already), etc..

Before I do this though and with my (awesome) new rig, I want to make a trilogy playthrough with heaps of texture mods. This will finally give me an opportunity to test MEHEM's compatibility issues with them. But given all of this, I don't expect, I'll get to work on the actual mod until October, maybe November, depending on how RL goes.

Oh, almost forgot, because I am feeling a little guilty for disappearing for so long, here is a little video of my progress on the final Normandy flyby:
I could increase the resolution of earth a little. It"s still not exactly high quality so don't expect to see anything like in "Gravity" but it's better than before and I do believe this is about the best result I'll be able to coax out of UE3 for this.
Also built in a little fancy light reflection effect for the Normandy. Oh yea, and we are flying over the Mediterranean now, sorry Japan. :)
If you are really annoyed by the old video and are about to play through MEHEM, I uploaded the bink file here.
Simply download it and put it in the EC DLC. Don't forget to update your DLC TOC.bin. If you don't know what the last two sentences mean, better wait for v0.5, it's really just a small change anyway.

So yea, hi again and sorry for my absence. Hope you all had a nice summer!
Cheers!

This video is amazing! Also, I've been trying for something like a week and a half to get a build that works with MEHEM and the Harbinger mod (on a N7 Collector edition build). Since it does not work yet another time (mainly because I've been trying mods I had trouble before [with non CE] but tought they would be okay with this version), I'd like-it if you could tell us what mod you successfully install!

Hey Mr Fob and co!
Good to see you back! First, great job with that flyby! I think it's superb.
Second, been gone a long time myself; craziest summer of my life. But if anybody needs help on any projects, I would be glad to offer whatever help I can again.
By the way, how did the Harby mod work out? I ended up leaving shortly after its initial debut.
Anyway, great to see you back!

Good to see you back, Fob.

EDIT: Nice to see the new work on the Normandy vid (had heard you were working on it before you disappeared). Were you still planning on having the Citadel in the space background or did you abandon that idea?

Good to see you Fob!

That video is looking great. I agree with AVPen, having the citadel in the background is a great idea. Hope its feasible. :)

I'm also planning a trilogy run in the near future, been enjoying some old greats, currently in the middle of Knights of The Old Republic. :D I was going to wait for v0.5, but now I'm also going to wait for your mod AVPen. :) I stumbled upon it a couple of days ago when I was browsing the modding projects forum. Reading thru what you will be adding to the game with all the emails and war assets sounded amazing, really looking forward to it. Hope everything works out in implementing it. :)

@chris2365> Hey, hope you got that sound problem figured out. Let me know if you still need help with the afc_fileswitch stuff.

@Mr.Ph11: Thanks. Well, I am still at the very beginning of ME1 with my playthrough and I am going slowly, so it will be a while until I reach the end of ME3. As for mods, I am not sure yet what exactly I'll run for ME3 but I want to use pretty much all content stuff that is compatible and for textures I'll have to try and test a bit. There is so much there and it's not all compatible that it'll probably take me a while to find a good set of mods that works well together. I definitely want to try as much of Ottemis' stuff as possible, I got a lot of mods from Anterius' archive and I'm gonna check out Nexus and the new ME mod page a little more as well. If anyone has a good list of compatible mods, I am open for suggestions.

Anyway, I'll post my results when I am done with my playthrough but as I said, it may yet be awhile.

@WV: Hey, yeah, as I said, not much internet lately. I'll try and be online one of these days. Hope things are going well. Streaming my playthrough is an interesting concept. I am not sure how well my play style would work for streaming though. I haven't played ME for a long time so I am re-reading a lot of codex and galaxy mapo stuff, so it could be a bit boring. :)

I am currently playing ME1 with MEURIM by the way and it just looks fantastic. I think for ME1 the texture mods are really a must and make a great difference and MEUTIM is also just so easy to install, it's just perfect. So HUGE kudos and thanks to everyone who participated in that project. It's magnificent.

@cfs3corsair> Not sure about Harby, I haven't been in contact with IHJ for a while.

@RMAM> Well, they will eventually. It's inevitable. The circle cannot be broken. :o

@AVPen & McBlade223: I was thinking about putting more stuff into the vid. The Citadel is a bit tricky because the model we have is of the intact Citadel. In this model, the wards are made of just a few huge polygons so it's not easy to "break" the model and create a believable groken Citadel (which we would need). I actually did break the model for the low EMS ending (you can see pieces of the blown up Citadel floating in the background) but I think this wouldn't work for the flyby. Of course, we could create some new rugged edges and debris for it for this vid but I didn't have the time to try that yet and it would be a lot of work for a 2 second appearance which would probably still have to be fairly small in the background. Maybe I'll give it a try though.

Apart from the Citadel, I was actually thinking of putting a reaper corpse and maybe a few human/Asari/Turian ships into the vid but then I thought it would probably distract a lot from the Normnady. I may give that a try as well though.

Ok, now back to Feros, there are a couple of Geth there who need there virtual asses blown into actual dust. It's great to go back to the old days before Legion when you could just blow up Geth without feeling bad about it. :D

Well you will be in good company because they will probably end up taking us all at some point.

Can I ask you a quick question? I just downloaded the extended anderson conversation, but I am having a problem with the soundtrack file. Is there another way to add BioSnd_End002.pcc because I followed the steps  to do thru dlc editor, but when I try to locate file it does not come up in the search?

Hmmm, for now this is the only way to do it. The file has to be in the Extended Cut DLC (otherwise the DLC would not work). It's in the same folder as all the other pcc files in that DLC. Are you using texture mods on top of MEHEM? If you do, your DLC may be extracted from the sfar file. In that case, you should find the file in the DLC folder itself, simply using windows explorer. I don't think the BioSnd_End002.pcc contains any textures, so it should be fine to replace it but doing any pcc modifications after texture tree scans is always a huge risk and I haven't tested this. So if you have texture mods installed, definitely make a backup before you replace anything ... well, actually you should always make backups anyway. :)

The music fix will be included in the next version by the way.

Exactly. I wouldn't even play ME1 if not for this project. That, along with MEHEM ultimately saved trilogy playthroughs for me.

MEUITM is a must if your computer can handle it. Just read through the setup instructions to get it to be quite reliable.

if you play as a Femshep, I didn't do the work, I just posted it, to fix the eyelashes

To keep Liara looking the same throughout the trilogy. I do happen to prefer the ME3 look but all choices are available.

MEUTIM certainly looks good. Liara unfortunately requires texmod. Texmod sometimes has its issues, no? Thats what I have heard

Anything else for this playthrough? So far I have MEUTIM, MEHEM, Tali Picture Mod, and Harby Mod as must haves

So for ME1, I am using only MEUTIM and it make as huge difference on it's own. As for Texmod: Usually it works just fine. When I used it on ME1 a couple of years ago, it messed up the HUD a little (nothing too bad but noticable(. Not sure if that is consistent or if it was just me and my mods at the time.

For ME2, I am using most these. A very quick test looked good but I will have to check if there will be texture issues.

For ME3: See my post above. For content, I'd definitely check out JohnP's stuff and the Ken-Gabby restoration mod. I haven't tried it but it looks great. Also, if you don't kill Ash on Virmire, I think the Ash legacy mod looks great.

Of course, all of these, I haven't really tested. I plan to write up an extensive summary of my findings at the end of this trilogy playthrough.

Aka, Diana Allers BeGone  ;)

Also Fob, if you're using the Citadel DLC, I did manage to create a mod that'll add Wrex's power "Stimulant Pack" back into the game as a true usable bonus power like it was intended to be (note that it doesn't work on Sentinels sadly, something about the Tech Armor power causes a conflict with StimPack): Stimulant Pack - True Bonus Power
