Regarding Texmod, I view the initial load time like having an old mid 90s computers. Just start it up, walk away and make some tea, then when you're back you're ready to go. Oh, the other fun one is when a crazy texture either a) imposes itself on the weapons bench/selection screen so you can't do anything or b ) places itself on the static effect on video transmissions, which is usually Miranda's suit for some reason. But nevertheless, I still use Texmod for the flexibility of it for changing textures and mods all the time, although given what I just wrote, maybe I should reconsider this stance.

The only issue I had during my last playthrough was with the "bloodied" decal textures (e.g. when Grunt comes back from the rachni at the end of his mission or Kaidan (in my case) during the beam run evac scene). They are supposed to have blood splatter all over them but with the texture mods, they had a complete red overlay, like they were fully painted in blood. That looked weird but it may have been a problem of one specific texture I installed (I used so many mods, I can't be sure).
Anyway, I usually prefer to have one procedure at one time (even if it is a bit more complicated) and then forget about the fact that I am even using mods.

Yeah, this is the case for me too. Not sure what mod is doing it.

I do prefer inserting the textures permanently myself. Sure it takes a little longer initially but it is far more convenient.

I've never touched the blood splatter textures, I think Smarteck modded them at some point? Don't know which pack includes them though.
I could be wrong, could always ask him if he's modded the blood splatter to be sure and in which pack it was included. He won't know why it goes wrong on permanent apply (as he doesn't support toolset usage, only texmod functionality) but if you know the texture name you can exclude it from the list in tpf tools prior to installation next time and make mention of it in the conversion thread (Antarius) on the ME3Explorer forums.

Cheers for chiming in JohnP & Ottemis. I'll have a look at it and give smarteck a shout if I can't find it. I thought it was just something I screwed up on my end. ![]()
BTW, I am currently trying to get MEHEM to work as a DLC install and will test it's functionality with texplorer, so that there will be as little difficulty as possible when combining it with texplorer mods.

Hello everyone, first time poster, long time lurker. Months ago I PM'ed MrFob thanking him for his hard work and dedication to the mod because it had given me my franchise back. I repurchased all of mass effect on PC and have replayed ME 1 and 2 and set myself up to branch into ME3, my question for everyone is, should I move forward with V 0.4 or should I wait out for .5? I ask because I'm not great with managing mods and .5 sounds like it will streamline the mod by improving the installation process in addition to being a overall performance improvement from version .4.

To be honest
As long as you follow the instructions in the readme that you get with the .4 installer then you should be good. I've personally had rather a lot of issues, but that's because I too am a skreb with modding games like this (any game where then nexus mod manager doesn't do it for you) and so I've tried to install numerous mods that have lead to me braking ME in one way or anther. So Overall I'd say so long as you only install MEHEM and possibly CEM (great mod, by the way, Deager
) then you should be good now. Also regarding CEM the installer for that is much like MEHEM and so just follow the simple instructions and there should be no problems I haven't encountered any, and I just finished my first play through with both CEM and MEHEM installed.
So long story short - as long as you only use the MEHEM installer and then possible the CEM installer as well, then there should be no problems now. However if you do encounter any just come here and ask, Fob or Deager always reply and offer assistance and so another thanks to them!

Ok so not wanting to sound like a compete muppit but I get that MEHEM 0.4 and CEM 1.2 are content mods but should a treescan be done after installing them or after "better cabin music for ME3" "cabin pic mod" and "Ashley Loyal Date Scene Fix" as are they content mods as well or not.
Thanks

Out of interest, I was recently trying to change the textures of Liara's alt armour and it wasn't working so I was told to delete everything in my cookedpcconsole that was altered after 04/25/2012, I did and the texture still doesn't work. However my problem now is I reinstalled MEHEM and CEM (with the MEHEM to CEM extra) and now it says that it can't authorize the citadel DLC, however it still lets me play, is this right? because before I reinstalled it, it never said this.

Once again I'll try to answer and will probably screw at least one part up. Install them all before doing a treescan. However, CEM v1.2 can break when using older versions of me3explorer. I think KFreon has a version which can work if you read about it here.
http://me3explorer.f...eral-t1549.html
I also could be wrong, but I suspect the files CEM changes I made don't have any textures involved. Well, except for the tpf pack I made with the help of some of smarteck's textures. But I could way off base on that as I've always done Texmod myself (although I think for run number "baker's dozen" I'll actually try to use Texplorer for once.)

If you used the MEHEM installer, run the uninstaller first. There may be some .bup files to clear out but more importantly, there may be some registry stuff to get cleared up.
Once you have used the MEHEM uninstaller, to get Mass Effect 3 functional at least, you may want to uninstall the game, delete all the items under your Mass Effect 3 installation directory, and then download and install again. I know there are some files under My Documents...you could delete those as well under Bioware\Mass Effect 3. I did that once but then all my achievement stuff reset and I'm not sure if you need to remove that stuff to get it to work.
Anyway, see if you can get the game working again that way. By the way, if you had used the manual MEHEM installation, did you remember to run the DLC TOCbin Updater and TOC Bin updaters? That's usually the step that is missed. Granted, the repair install you did would have broken the manual MEHEM installation anyway so you'll have to get things straightened out again. Although, those bin updaters might be enough and then a manual MEHEM install may work if that's what you did before, then run the updaters again.
And...I'm guessing I'm missing something here so we'll see when Fob or someone corrects me. ![]()

thanks for the reply. i used the uninstaller and did a repair but that didnt help and im at university and downloading from origin is a bit tricky so it may be a few weeks before i can give it another go. i used the automatic installer so ill try the manual one this time and see what happens.

Did you do a repair on EC as well?

Posté 19 novembre 2014 - 09:10
Alternatively, if you do not want to re-download the entire game again, you could try to repair the EC and Leviathan DLCs like Laius suggested but without knowing exactly what causes the freeze, I am not sure if this will work. Deleting all files and re-installing is the safest option.

I am a bit late to the party. I bought ME2 when it came out but let it rot on my bookshelf (too busy playing MMOs).
So finally I started ME1, now ME2 currently.
Of course I heard about the terrible ending in ME3, and after trying to ignore it (for spoilers) I did look up some reviews and critique (Angry Joe mostly).
So this let to me not even wanting to play ME3 AT ALL.
I really thought I'd just stop after ME2, but then I had the idea to google "mass effect happy ending mod" - and VOILA, I found your mod (and JohnP's MEHEM). Thanks a ton!
I really like these games, but I hate nothing more than a depressing ending. Bioware should have given us not 3 choices between crappy endings, but 3 choices between
a) a great ending (Hero Shepard)
a sacrifice but still galaxy saved (Jesus Shepard)
c) a death and total mayhem ending (Shepard screwed up)
... Thank god for modders doing what Bioware should have done. And honestly, all this talk about "artistic vision" and integrity, that's pure bull anyway, because Bioware also took parts of the story ideas and the universe from Babylon 5 anyway, and even from the bible (making Shepard some kind of Jesus figure who needs to be sacrificed to save us all...).
Now, I need to decide which mod to install.
Would someone be so nice and please explain to me the difference between MEHEM and JohnP's MEHEM - considering what happens when I pick one of the 3(4?) choices (destroy/control/merge/reject) PLEASE?
I guess in the original MEHEM it's all the same, or? and in JohnP's you can pick depending on your EMS score a good or a bad ending?
Thanks a ton again! Finally I have the will again to start playing ME3.

@ Rittmeister
MEHEM itself basically automatically launches into its own ending after you deal with the Crucible. No direct choices This ending may vary depending on how high your EMS score is. If the score is absurdly low, everyone dies, period. Cycle continues.
As for JohnP's MEHEM mod, I have kinda not been able to keep up with things lately. However, from watching a few vids and getting updated, it seems that it keeps what is referred to as the "Star Child" along with the choices. If you choose destroy, it launches into a version of the MEHEM ending. The ending avoids having the Normandy crash and having Shepard present at the memorial, it changes nothing else besides that as far as I can tell.
Both are frankly excelllent pieces of work. Depends what floats your boat.

ok, so i got home and reinstalled ME3 and the same thing happened, keyboard mouse clicks not registering although i can move the mouse cursor around but am still stuck on the intro screen. it turns out this is a bug from the latest origin update, although no other origin game does this. thumbs up to EA for their complete lack of support. someone else with the same problem figured out disabling the origin overlay in game through the properties option for ME3 fixes whatever is broken. i have to point out that if i had illegally downloaded ME3 i wouldnt be having this problem, only EA'S paying customers have any trouble. how many other people are experiencing this issue. im running a windows 8 laptop with a nvidia gpu.

Just as a general reminder: When using mods, turn off game uppdates in the Origin settings. It's probably also a good idea to turn off the Origin in-game overlay when using mods. While I am not aware of any issues this causes, there is really no need to complicate things by having it on (and I can't think of any real use for it anyway
