Sounds very promising, indeed!

One question: the hex-edits found in this thread here, do they still work with 0.5? E.g. outfit-swaps, reverting the memorial to its 0.2-setup and the like.

I just checked and at least uniform change and face healing for the memorial still work. Obviously, now you have to modify the files in the folder "\BioGame\DLC\DLC_CON_MEHEM\".

I didn't check it yet but a lot off later stuff in the thread you mean rpobably won't work anymore. Anything that mods MemroialGreen.pcc for example will not be the same anymore, as the offsets in this file have changed. Not sure if anyone is still using any of that stuff anymore though.. A lot of it is obsolete these days anyway. If you find something that you want to use but that doesn't work anymore, post in the thread and I'll see if I can find it again.

So I just uploaded a video of MEHEM v0.5 here. Did this with console gamers in mind so they know what the new version is like

MaleShep

Liara LI

All teammates alive except for Kaiden, Thane, Legion, Mordin.

Thx for the new version, just downloaded it but won't be able to test it before some times (T.T), so I was wondering what JohnP's additional LI mod is supposed to do? :o

I was also wondering, is it possible to "create" subtitle for MEHEM since we got lot of "new" dialogues?

Also I've almost finished translation of the mails & found a friend to help me with corrections ^^

I just watched the video that cfs3corsair was kind enough to upload and the moment the credits started rolling, I started clapping and tearing up. This mod was exactly how I had hoped ME3 would end originally; all the bittersweetness without the major sacrifice of losing the main character I had come to love over the course of all three games. Thank you so much for all your hard work and for this mod! Its so wonderful for you all to do this!

A quick question though: If you turn down the music in-game, does the music in the mod turn off as well or is it stuck perma-on unless going into the bios? I ask this entirely for movie editing reasons. I make a Let's Play in the form of a space drama TV show for my mother(I know, right?) and I'd like to use HEM as the ending for the series as she would be greatly upset watching Shepard die(As were we all--). But would like to turn the music off so I can record it separately. Just curious to know if it's possible. :D

Nice to see the mod get an update. Also great to see it adopt the DLC method, as that will make it easier to try out.

Excellent work Mr. Fob.

Thanks guys! And special thanks to cfs3corsair for uploading the vid!

@Roivas_Alenko:

- JohnP's additional LI introduces Miranda/Jack into the memorial scene if your Shepard romanced them. They will be there, and hug Shepard. For players that do not romance Miranda or Jack, the mod plays out just as usual.

- Subtitles for the new dialogue and multi-laguange support is the main plan for v0.6 (which hopefully won't take quite as long as v0.5)

- Very cool news about the translation. Send me a pm when you are done and we can coordinate.

@solidfalcon: Yes, the music is encoded as music in game. If you change the gmae's music volume settings in the options, you will change music volume during MEHEM.

Note: This only is true for the music. in the current version, dialogue and sound effects during the new pre-rendered videos (i.e. everything between Shepard passing out on the Citadel and the scenes in London, just before the red wave hits) are encoded with the bink video. This means, their volume can currently not be changed in game. This is something that will most likely change/be improved in v0.6.

Noted, should be in the clear, then.

I've noted a problem with texplorer-treescan and MEHEM 0.5-install just now, however: installing MEHEM 0.5 first, and then proceeding to create the tree as you suggest in the guide sees the tree-scan stuck at the second .pcc-file within MEHEM's DLC-folder, with 2420/2438 files scanned, I found. Tried de-selecting MEHEM from the DLC-list to see whether that would bypass this, was not the case. I did make certain first to revert the relevant folders - BIOGame, DLC, CookedPCConsole - to vanilla beforehand.

Currently building the tree first, then installing MEHEM 0.5. Will see how it goes.

*EDIT: should pay attention to steps 3.5 and 4, going to do those now, my bad. Also, rev685 appears to have renamed 'DLC Explorer' to 'DLC Editor' found in Developer Tools > DLC Tools, should be edited in the guide to avoid confusion.

I will upload a couple more versions of the MEHEM 0.5 vid with more common parameters, such as a few different LI's or with Kaiden alive as opposed to Ashley. If somebody (in particular a console gamer) has a specific video they want to see, zap me a message and I will see what I can do

Ah okay thank you very much! ^^

And please keep up the excellent work, I can't wait to see what this mod looks like when its fully polished and complete, especially since it looks so good right now as is!

Great to know that MEHEM is still being upgraded and tweaked - thank so much for MrFob and company, who strive to make this mod the best that it can be. :)

MEHEM is pretty much the reason why Mass Effect is still on my hard drive. :)  Thanks again!

Thanks guys. It was about time MEHEM went DLC. :)

By the way, we just made a couple of adjustments on ME3Explorer over the past couple of days, that should make installing texture mods on top of DLC mods much easier than it used to be. If you want to try it, please check this guide, which is also linked in the MEHEM v0.5 installer.

If you find any bugs or problems, now would be a good time to let us know, as we are about to upload another version of ME3Explorer to sourceforge, so people don't need an SVN update every time they want to install texture mods.
Happy testing!

Probably self-explanatory, but:

I went through the former guide, the steps I omitted earlier included minus scanning for a texture-tree. Would I need to revert to vanilla-files, or am I alright proceeding with the tree-scan with ME3 Explorer updated to rev 688?

If you have a working tree and all your DLCs are fully extracted, you should be fine. Our changes between rev685 and 688 all deal with creating the tree and extracting DLCs properly.

However, with rev688, when you install new textures, a manual Auto TOC Update should no longer be necessary for DLCs (or the basegame for that matter). You should be able to just click "Install Valid" in TPF/DDS Tools and once the textures are installed, restart the game and play.

If you do run into any trouble, it is recommended that you do vanilla and build a new tree, just to be safe. (I know it takes a long time to build the tree but things should be more stable from now on).

It looks like the instructions will work great. CEM Full was fine as well. It couldn't scan the MEHEM to CEM 720 and 730 files for some reason. I'll confirm if the character textures apply or not when I have a chance later tonight.

I think in 2. i) it should read   "Origin -> Application Settings" instead of "Origins -> Settings" (not that people wouldn't figure that out.)

My game actually extracted out all the DLCs right away, then it asked me, once the extraction was done, if I wanted to run texplorer or whatever on them. However, I had SimCity running full screen borderless windowed mode so I may have missed a window somewhere. Or I misread the instructions is another possibility.

Thanks for testing Deager.

The thing with the memorial files (720 and 730) is weird. This did not happen to me, they got scanned and textures did get replaced in these files during my tests. However, on one test, I had other files from the main game that did not get scanned during one of my tests (while other tests worked fine). Did you also get the window where it say something about vorcha in the sewers or something like that? Maybe it's random if there are other programs running in the background, but I don't know.

As for the DLC extraction: It is normal that they will be extracted without asking the user. The extraction doesn't hurt and that way, Texplorer and all other tools can be absolutely sure that if a tree exists, all DLCs are extracted. In fact, I didn't even realize that selection window existed. I might even have taken it out of the program because there is no reason not to add all DLCs to the tree anymore.

Thanks for the tip on the Origin Settings. It shall be fixed.

I didn't get any other errors. Good to know on the auto-extract with DLC. Yeah, I was fine with it, just surprised.

If this can go as a SF version I think the days of manual install versions is over. Yay!

EDIT: Also, despite the 720 and 730 files giving an error, as expected, all the character textures applied properly anyway. We're looking good. Nice work on the coding Fob.

When you use mod (texture, MEHEM, etc) you have to use a "patch" for DLC authorization

You can found one here http://me3explorer.f...6503.html#p6503

@obilon67: Roivas_Alenko is correct. Any authorization issue should be resolved with the patcher, so just go ahead and install it again manually. It is still weird though. The installer should install the patcher automatically. Unfortunately, when I tested my installer, I think I may have had the patcher already installed, so I may have missed any errors in that aspect of the installer during my tests. I'll have to check if this is a bug in the installer. If so, it will be corrected in v0.6.

Also, make sure you turn off the option "Automatically keep my games up to date" in Origin's Application settings. Do never update the game after installing mods. That can break the mods and the patcher as well.

@MrFob

Thanks for your great Mod !

I have a question...

I play the german version. Is Mehem 0.5 compatible with the german version ? I read that "Glutzahn" help you, to make a german Version.
How is the Status ?

I hope Mehem 0.6 has german Text (E-Mails) and Speech support. That would be great !
Thanks for your Mod !

Grettings from Germany

Having contributed to this project in even the tiny way I did is like as not to be one of the prouder moments of my life.  Some day I'll be pointing my name in the MEHEM credits out to my grandkids.  Thank you for being generous enough to include me in there, Mr. Fob.

Having 0.5 at last is wonderful, sir, thank you greatly for your long and tireless work to restore the honor of Mass Effect.  If I may be so bold and callous as to still look into the future even at this precipitous moment of modding triumph, I would ask what plans you have for the future?  You've mentioned that 0.6 will be primarily functionality tweaks as 0.5 was, to make more content addition smoother, but is there any set idea as to what that content will be?

Hello Mr.Fob.

I have a suggestion for another replacement for the default ending music( optional install). It's not my own content but I'm sure Sebdoom would most likely allow you to use it. it's a metal cover for The End Of An Era from the citadel dlc. Here is the link to the cover: https://www.youtube....h?v=Eie6wmWZIEY. it's nearly identical in length to what "and end once and for all EC Version" so it could easily work. just send Sebdoom a PM on YouTube and he should hopefully get back to you fairly quickly.

How does the memorial scene play out if Shepard has no romance? I'm just curious. I don't have the mod since I play on the ps3.
