@Mr.BlazenGlazen: I haven't seen one yet and my own Tali-Shepard is hibernating somewhere between LotSB and Arrival, so I can't make one atm.

@Sable: I just fixed Garrus' facial animations and I may have found a way to make the clipping a bit better. Still working on it. I want to keep the hug for him but I definitely don't want him to put up the plaque. That is Shepard's job. If I can just change his location a little bit to the back, I could avoid the clipping and everything would be fine. I'll keep at it.

@CptData: Yes, I would definitely like to implement something like this. I do have some idea of how it might be possible but it involves a huge amount of work. Maybe when everything else is fixed, I'll try something similar.

@Zhuinden, No space magic, it's more like a space hex (edit) :D


Also, I just fixed Shepard's walking animation. Turns out that this was really easy to do. Just some more fine tuning for one more week or so and we should be ready for v0.2 :)

MrFob, in that case your MEHEM would work like some idea I had six months ago or something, still while begging for the CE ;)

We'll see. Just keep in mind everyone should make a backup of his/her saves just in case you can import ME3 saves to ME4 ... or make sure the save is not changed at all and is set to "Destruction Ending" ^^

Way I see it, both do work as is. Leaving this optional as to which one people prefer would be fine in my book.

That aside, just finished my playthrough sans From Ashes, and the absence did not interfere at all. MEHEM played out beautifully, and I cannot even say the red border reported by someone else was much of an issue.


Another thing: removing EDI's plaque from the wall aside, did you already think further of a possibility of adding her to the scene?

Nice job! I know how hard it is to do something like this, I just can't believe so many fan go through such lengths just to change the end. It tells you something, it tells you lots of things. about the game and the fans.

I am a little confused now that i see fans do what BW would not do...
(Face Import) High Res packs, Mehem.

I do replay the games now! But i am still asking myself should i buy the DLC ore not.
Personally with the Mehem and more i want to discover more ... ( Levi and Omega)

On the other hand i am asking myself.. why should i support BW due buying DLC....

I cannot answer that question yet... Its a dilemma

about the saves .. i really doubt, that the new game will be working with the old savegames. the new game will have the frostbite engine - thats quite a change.

lets name the ship "bremen" and not "nuremberg" ... sounds better Image IPB

About the Garrus-version: A fix for the facial animations sounds great, and I'd agree that Shepard putting up the plaque is the most logical thing. Fixing the clipping as well would be perfect, but not as important as the facial expression - personal opinion only, of course.

That said, a heartfelt thank you to you and all those who work on similar projects. The ending of ME3 hurt back in March, and it still hurts now. Seeing that people use their free time and accept possible headaches to fix it means much.

I vote that Bioware makes sure the ME4 import works with MrFob's ending.

The engine doesn't really matter if you import a set of nulls and ones and other numbers. That's all the "import character" feature does - and since Shepard won't return and most detail decisions won't matter anymore, it's pretty much like this:

- Shepard Gender (0=male, 1=female)
- Shepard LI (0=none, 1=Liara, 2=Ashley, 3=Kaidan, 4=...)
- Final decision (0=control, 1=synthesis, 2=destruction, 3=refusal)
- Final decision EMS (5000 pts)
- Fate of Geth (0=destroyed,1=alive)
- Fate of Quarians (0=destroyed,1=alive)
- Fate of Krogans (0=not-cured,1=cured)

For that, you don't need the same engine :blush:

if it is build up like this - yeah .. why not.  but i have a hard time believing, that this will matter in the next game.

and if it matters, they better bring shepard back!


i really hope, that bioware has an ace up their sleeve and they surprise us with a real ending.

While I had and still have no need for a completely happy ending to Mass Effect 3, I really have to commend the people behind this mod. It is an impressive feat, and I hope it will satisfy those who felt they needed a happier ending to ME3. Well done! :-)

To the best of my understanding, that's how import worked from ME1 to ME2, which had very different engines.  I suppose they were still on the same platform, though.  If you wanted to import data cross-platform, you could always implement a cloud system for folks to upload their save files, or we could hold onto the files the old-fashioned way and then just copy them into the new game.

Huh.  My bad.  I thought given the enormous differences between ME1 and ME2 they had a different engine (not Unreal) for the first game.  Oops :P

Nicely done with the mod. I really dig that space battle.

However, i prefere the ending Bioware made, the catalyst is there and it is canon.

I'm about ready to start a Let's (Remember) Play of this entire trilogy. It'll take me quite a while to get through it all.

However... if it happens that this mod is fine tuned enough by the time I get to the endings, I'll feature it. The dedicated work of so many fans should get recognized, even if it is in just on a nobody's let's play.

@iSpatz: Thanks for uploading!!! Now we have them all :).

On the saves issue: This is a repost from one I made in another thread about this:

I didn't change anything that would interfere with setting flags in the save game, so in theory, you should be fine.

HOWEVER, I take NO responsibility if saves will not work with future ME products. Any kind of modding such a complex game can potentially interfere with savegames in unanticipated ways. It is very possible that this is the case here.

Uninstalling the mod and replaying the game is definitely possible though. If you want to be on the absolute save side, keep one save right before you start Cronos Station (Cerberus HQ). That should definitely be uncorrupted and ready to use.

@Hyrist: Cool, sounds great! I think the next update should take care of the worst issues. It still depends on how you play though. E.g. if Garrus is your LI, I can't tell you how long it will take me to take care of the clipping issues. Might happen tomorrow, might not happen in the next 3 months. tough to tell.
