Fair enough.  Subsequent versions may come with an easier installer.  You might consider picking MEHEM up then :D

btw, I did some number crunching; a standalone installer, including (high-res) videos and sound files, subtitle adaptation algorithms (by that I mean the ID tag changes), maybe even new animation routines, would end up being as big as a DLC (maybe a bit less, using the right compression algorithms)... but still... that's pretty big... lots of server space needed... most of it would be eaten up by the videos of course... so maybe investing the time to find way to "make" new ingame cutscenes still might pay of...

just realised, big block of words... sorry, gomen nasai...

I don't know why people seem to be embarrassed to say "Yes, it is about a happy ending." Is it because they're afraid they'll be accused of being childish? I think that's it, because people think being grown up means being able to "take it".

I say that's a bunch of malarkey. Yeah, I'm that old. When you get that old you want happy endings again, because I've got to tell you something, life doesn't end well. When you hit a certain age you need hope to keep going. The world out there is grim enough. Why the hell should we have to deal with crap like this in a damned video game?

I have no issue admitting a happier ending is what I wanted. However that's not everything that was missing. Removing Starbrat helps immensely because my narrative no longer commits suicide in the last few moments.

Did you complete Omega in your test-run? Also just installed Omega and tested whether it interfered with the Return-save I still had. Can confirm that apparently it does not in any way, shape or form.

according to the rest of the forum, its just 3-4 hours - mostly shooting cerberus mooks - and there is a bit of story involved. it seams, that it is not on par with lotsb though.

i will wait before i spend 12€ on it .. wtf .. 12 € for 3-4 hours of gameplay? ... thats a lot of money.

Omega was completed when I tested MEHEM... so at  least for me there are no apparent problems...

I would still like to see the Catalyst convo, or at least the MEEM version with the added Leviathan dialog, because I still like having the convo about their origins.

How could a DLC be on par with LotSB if it doesn't feature Liara?

Anyway, a question is not only whether the Omega DLC can be played with this mod installed, but also if the modded ending of the game still plays properly.

I may have been unclear there: the ending sans Omega completion, loaded from the Return-save at the beam, worked flawlessly for me even with Omega installed. Far as I gather, it does indeed not touch the end at all, not a single BioD_End file to be found within its .sfar-file.

Thanks everyone, it's good to know Omega has no impact on the endings (and thus no impact on MEHEM either) which means I can wait and decide if I want to get it or not.

@jackal13th: Since you blocked me for PMs after asking for help, I will post the response I tried to send to you here. Maybe you'll see it:
I am sorry to hear that. I just got back online and didn't see your message until now. I also didn't quite understand what exactly did not work. A couple of things that might have been the cause:
- The mod is meant for the English version of ME3. It may not be compatible with other languages
- If you are using an older save, it is best to start before again before the Cerberus HQ mission. Especially if you use the Leviathan fix, you might encounter problems otherwise.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help there. Without more specifics, it's hard to track down the problem. Hopefully we'll have an auto installer soon.

@Dr_Extrem: Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as harsh or anything. Your suggestions about the Normandy evac scene are good ones IMO. It's just the implementation that would be a problem. I was wondering what people thought about my "distraction" suggestion a couple of pages earlier though. That might be something that could possibly be tried.

@in it for the lolz & Ihatebadgames: As far as I understand, the problem lies less within the data itself (it would have to be re-formatted but that is easy enough) but rather with the accessibility of the consoles themselves. WarrantyVoider put a new update on that onto the "Creating New End For Mass Effect" facebook page (find link in OP). Not sure if anyone would be willing to risk their consoles for this.

@Bierwichtel: Not sure what you meant with the number crunching there. AFAIK, all we need is a scripted installer, that automatically replaces some files and then uses the DLCExplorer to replace some more. That doesn't sound too bad to me. Shouldn't be bigger than a couple of kb) in addition to what we have at the moment). If it really were so big, i could just upload the whole modified Default.sfar and you'd just have to copy it into place (although I am pretty sure BW wouldn't like that).

New job takes its toll already - I have little more than 2 hours for my comp right now - thanks to the distance I have to travel every single day (2x 60km / 2x 40 Miles). That makes my day "extra long", especially thanks to the bad traffic situation ... >.<

Will let you know if I get something done. Right now I could use an au pair girl just to get the housework done ...

Nothing in MEHEM needs to be changed. It's perfect, MrFob. Wow wow wow. Tweak it for your own enjoyment if you like, but, otherwise, no need to change a single thing. :)

You are my hero and I am sharing this with every person I know!!!! :D
