After many hours of hard labour from Mr.Fob and me, we came out with an alternate soundtrack for MEHEM. It's based on a fan track called ''Shadow of Infinity'' from David Jegutidse The second half of the mod includes the EC version of An End, Once And For All, since it just fits the scene perfectly. The changes are concentrated in the first half of the mod, from the space battle until the Normandy Crash.

It's not perfect (has a few rough spots), but it's my contribution to this excellent mod Posted Image. To install it, just use these files instead of the ones in MEHEM and combine them with the rest of the mod.

I won't have the chance to test it for a while, so I would be grateful if someone could let me know if it works.

Thanks again MrFobPosted Image

Hmm. mr.fob i come across a disturbing problem here...maybe i doing something wrong i dont know. As you know i was able to run mass effect 3 and load my games after following your instructions- HOWEVER that was before the latest mass effect 3 game update came out literally minuted before i started typing this msg.

I did not realize the game update was due...which i only did after i discovered that using your method suddenly caused the whole game to crash ons tartup at origin launch. Meaning first i had to do a repair install and then after that i did run the latest update through origin for me3.

after that and having replacede the files twice after repair install i got too tired to look into it further.

Sorry to say but i under deep suspicion the latest game update as it was pending, obstructed the ability of your great method to successfully run the game without crashing it on startup. are you aware of this latest thing? as i said i yet to try tomorrow- to see if i can change the files using dlc manager AFTER the game update pls keep us posted thanx

Are you sure? When I go to the project link and go to files, there is a rar file called MEHEM_New_Music.rar

Hmm. Says there are no files in this project. Is there some sort of setting that restricts visibility of the files? I've never created a bsn project.

Maybe a clearance-issue or something about who's got access to downloading it? Can't see it either.

Got it. Was restricted to group members only. Should work now. EnjoyPosted Image

Will see if I can get a video up of the alternate soundtrack by this weekend.

Latest update of Origin? Or ME3? Because I _just_ repaired my install yesterday and have both the latest Origin and ME3, and it works fine.

Testing past intro screen - my game loads properly

Guessing it's a problem that is correctable Couple of thoughts come to mind:

When ME updates it replaces every single file, and when Origin updates, there's a file called IGO32.dll that is "updated" if you've renamed it to IGO32bak.dll

1) If you're using the latest version of Origin and the FXAA injector, remember to double check that you renamed your IGO32.dll to IGO32bak.dll, ME3 will crach otherwise.

2) Literally every modified file is replaced when you update ME3. You need to literally reinstall not only the DLC elements of MEHEM, but the parts that you dragged and dropped. If you had a modded coalesced.bin, or anything, it all gets replaced by an update. This is why it's good to back up the file architecture of all your "minor" mods for super quick reinstallations, your coalesced.bin, edited sfxgame.pcc for saves, etc.

3) If you have edited your save game capacity, and then updated Mr. Fob's PCConsoleTOC.bin, you will need to do so again otherwise ME3 will crash on start up.

4) You may have installed MEHEM wrong or your files or even your new Mass Effect install could be corrupted. If all else fails, back up any files you can't easily replace, try a full repair, redownload MEHEM, reinstall any personal mods you have and them MEHEM.

5) There's an option to download the beta version of Origin or something, make sure you disable that if you have it enabled. It's unlikely but you have a new version of Origin literally no one else is using, it may be harder to isolate future problems.

I can personally attest to MEHEM not being "broken" by the developers, because my version seems to work fine.

...

"EDITED: Recopied back=up files to ME3 folder. Eeverything is working fine. Whew..."

...and I wrote all that up for no reason. <_<

EDITED2: For anyone who does any personal modding, I can strongly recommend using the hard drive space to copy a working "MEHEM" default.sfar as a quick "repair" for both Levi and the Extended Cut so you don't have to go through the tedious process of ticking off all the files each time you need to test a problem with MEHEM. Makes it super easy to restore and tinker with stuff if you mess with the game files a lot.

I just played through the ending and had no issues at all,so I can confirm MEHEM is not broken.

Also Mr.Fob I retook pictures of my scene with my Shepard with hi res mods, so if you want to put another femshep preview, here you go.

@PK
This was in response to visionazzery's post about his/her game being updated and now MEHEM/whole game being unplayable.

As my game wasn't automatically updated, I decided to test it by seeing if there was an update and clicked "check for update" option on ME3 options. Sure enough the game updated. While it started and ran fine, I ran into problems I mentioned in my post. Reinstalled and everything worked fine as it was before.

Conclusion:This might be a specific issue solely with visionazzery's game install. Your post might help visionazzery.

Also there might be no update and this just my game reinstalling itself by "checking" for an update.

Thanks for the help though!

To go off that you may want to copy enitre ME3 folder with MEHEM installed into a seperate HD. If you really want to be cautious. It will take you 15-16GB of space for the whole back-up.

Heh, no worries..I just get paranoid when someone suggests Texmod/FXAA/MEHEM, etc. is broken by Bioware and usually test via a repair it to see if they're right. It did actually happen once with the FXAA tool ,after all. <_<

Also - yes, even if there is no official update, it will actually say "updating" and show a MB amount of the files it's "restoring' to original functionality.

Sorry, I probably missed it in the post, but where exactly does this music kick in?

At the moment I'm listening to it on Youtube and it's good. But to my ear in the early intial stages it sounds like the atmospheric effect, near the start is, overshadowing the piano, and the drum/brush 11 sec's into the piece come in at a point where the piano and string section can hold their own without them.

I'm holding back further comment because I don't know where exactly this music will slot into. But from first listen, I'd say to the maker, have confidence in the two main instruments to carry the beginning of the music, then slowly bring in the drum/brush. The atmospheric affect, in the opening, seem's to be competing with the piano for dominance and listening to them duel at point's is uncomfortable listening. And that piano is haunting enough without that additional effect in the early stages.

Wasn't trying to insinuate the Mods were being broken by the developers. My bad. :) All is well!

At the time I wasn't sure if there was an actual update or if I had just unknowingly reinstalled my game.

Also wanted to see if I could solve visionazzery's problem. I was not as I myself did not run into this problem. :(

It did work, yep.

Liked the track in full length on yt, think I'll record it at that. ^_^

Problem I see with the current implementation is that it seems a bit...choppy in places, the "triumphant" part of the "An End Once And For All"-Director's Cut edition also sets in a bit...late, making its stop a bit too abrupt. "Suicide Mission" transition when Normandy gets out of the jump is also a bit abrupt at that point, but in my opinion it flows better overall.

Keep at it, though, sounds promising overall once that is smoothed over.

Edit: @tnt1991, lovely banners. Kinda makes me want to have a try at creating one for madam Shepard and Williams meself at one point...
