MEHEM - the Mass Effect (3) Happy Ending Mod - No more star kid, no more deaths and a reunion

I have a question though; there's a hotfix for Leviathan, does this mean this will cause problems if we have Omega installed? I haven't bought it yet, though I do have Leviathan, so I thought I'd ask first.
I also have a pair of suggestions if you'd like some input.
Just as a fun aside, at 8:24 it cuts to a scene of the Normandy's CIC with everyone running around; how cool would it be to splice the video to use the original shot from ME1 where Shepard is walking up through the CIC to stand next to Joker? I don't know how difficult it'd be to change the textures on his face and armor to replace the old ME1 textures, but it'd be a nice touch if it wouldn't mean you'd have to decompile the entire game.
Also, and this is just my OCD talking, the Nuremburg Captain who contacts the Normandy at 3:06 requests that they be permitted to 'stay around to assist." Perhaps in a later version it could be re-recorded to say 'remain on station to assist"? It just sounds a little more military.
Anyhow, absolutely wonderful idea, and looks very professional. Can't wait to see it continue to grow.

I can't really find any good examples that would transfer over easily in Control, but in Synthesis, EDI's got a lot of phenomenal lines that, if paced properly, could be compelling to place in this mod:
"We can now live the lives we have wished for...with peace across the galaxy."
"To recover the greatness that was lost...and surpass it."
"We will reclaim our worlds...and the stars."
"No matter how far we advance, we will remember the sacrifices of those who made it possible."

Not sure if this is possible, or even if it's a good idea, but perhaps exchange some of Hackett's dialogue in the epilogue with dialogue found in other Extended Cut endings?

I don't think that using EDI's monologue would be all that stellar...in fact, Hackett's narration works rather well, both here and in the EC-proper.
What I could see as being within reason would be quotes from different characters being inserted...although that would be something that people could customise themselves, what with ME3Explorer out there et al.

A video showing Shepard's resscue would be great. But can MP scenes do that? I mean, are there even any maps that look like the CItadel?

The next best, closest thing would be the London-map, with some fellas of Hammer deciding to head for the beam once more upon having regrouped.
Otherwise possibly Glacier, Ghost or White from certain angles so Kerberos-insignia and vistas are not visible, but else it is certainly going to be somewhat tricky.

This is amazing and shows that Mass Effect truly has the best fans of all.
I applaud you all, good men and women.
The Shep rescue idea is great. I don't know how it can be done, perhaps by doing some model swap of the MP scenes? But the addition would be terrific.
I suppose it's too much to hope that Bioware would render some assistance as a gesture of good will? I mean, the job is more than half-done already, and it would really mean a lot to the fans if Bioware could assist in carrying it to its completion.

Well, I've got my video card now, and am ready to start a play of ME1 on my PC and go through the series through ME3 and end it with MEHEM.
That's my feeling. Shepard deserved better than she got from BW. It's a real shame it took this to get it if you ask me. It took a ton of work.
I was depressed for 8 months and the day I ordered that video card and got ready to do this the depression lifted. Funny about that. Now all I have to do is watch my Ps and Qs on the board so I don't get banned. So my thanks to MrFob here for doing this hard work and putting this thing together for us.
I have to tell you, when I first saw Harbinger land by the beam and start speaking, I went through the entire ending with a big silly grin on my face. That's something I never thought I'd be able to do with ME3's ending. (for one thing, I was relieved I'd installed the mod properly) The experience is every bit as good as watching it on youtube.
Now I find myself humming "Reignite" every once in a while

Well, it's gonna be hard figure out how somenthing would look like, without having actually saw it. Fob is soon going to leave the board for some weeks (he'll be back in early February... most likely just in time to see what will happen with the next singleplayer DlC, considering BW's release routines). So soon will be other people's call to try to work out other contents to add to future versions of the MEHEM. You definately should try an preliminar sequence, imoh.

The Hazard mode of Firebase: Glacier has coloring similar to the Crucible about to fire. It also is never featured in single player so many people will have never seen it before. Of course, you can only play that map when it comes up in rotation every few weeks.
Play a game against Cerberus and leave a single Nemesis or Guardian alive. You'll have all the time you need to get the proper camera shots. The only problem is character names being displayed over everyone's heads.

If Bioware comments on the thread, more people will read it. If Bioware locks the thread, they give a lot of formally hostile people (myself included) no choice but to return the rest of the BSN.
So, basically Bioware is using this thread as a lobster trap. Leave it alone and it still works.

@ChaosEngineBob: Thanks. Good suggestions although, I am afraid the first one won't happen. This is a static cutscene with not interactivity at the moment. Changing it like that would require a whole new in game sequence at this point and that would be really difficult to do (probably even impossible at this point).
Good point about the Nuremberg though. I thought it sounded a bit weird myself when I recorded it but didn't really want to do it again at the time
And yes, Omega should work fine. Leviathan only needed a fix because it interacts with the ending.
@FlyinElk212: This is actually more difficult than it sounds. Hackett's VO is not static. It is made of bits and pieces and parts of it can change according to your decisions, EMS and paragon/renegade status. Any change there would have to be done extremely carefully in order not to upset the whole. I think the trouble this would entail is not necessarily worth the benefit.
@Ironhandjustice: I answered you in the project discussion. Again, thanks, and go right ahaed and try stuff out. I never really played MP so I don't even know which cool scenes there might be there actually. Just keep in mind that you cannot show Shepard him/herself because it's have to be implemented as a static cutscene. Curious to see what comes of it.

The trick is use presentation videos to make a "full scale battle on citadel", and "endark" some scenes for it.
Give it a try, but after the first release, if someone has cool scenes, feel free to send them on a youtube video and the time, For example youtube/x, 1:32.
Let's see what I can do

For instance, the Normandy aerial battle and the ground troops battle from the "Take Earth Back" trailer never actually happened in-game, so why not use it as part of Shep's rescue from the Citadel?
www.youtube.com/watch
Many shots from 2:20 onward can work for both Earth and Citadel alike.
www.youtube.com/watch
Similarly, many shuttle shots and N7 shots can probably be used to illustrate the team sent to retrieve Shep.
Take a look at 1:00 and 1:20.
I do not possess the technical skills to make this happen, but I hope some of those scene can come in handy with a few tweaks in color or lighting.

I will post the same comment I posted on youtube because I believe this is how a lot of people might feel.
In all my years of being a gamer, all the games and the storylines I have experienced, with all the user mods combined could never compare to what you did here friend.I want to personally say that thanks to you, I can, nay, want to replay mass effect 3 as many times as I have played the other 2. You my friend, have made something so beautiful and very needed that any amount of thanks you get will never be enough.
Thank you for birthing purpose and meaning to an otherwise dead (for me at least) trilogy.

I also want to mention that, the original pre-release trailers of Mass Effect 3 and the multiplayer DLC trailers are mostly scenes not seen in the actual game, so a lot of the things in there can be safely used in the MEHEM.

A problem I see here is that, potentially, a number of people will definitely have a de-ja-vu moment with certain scenes here, as they play out in the intro to the first mission of Priority: Earth no matter what.
One could argue that a majority of people opt for Grunt staying alive, though, so maybe using some of the scenes of the character who is supposed to be in his stead may work.
& http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTo_9xyl1LA&t=0m56s & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTo_9xyl1LA&t=1m00s
Essentially the same issue: no matter what, most of those shots would be a familiar sight for people, as everyone gets to see those. Not necessarily so for the case already mentioned.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUD0M0S6zjY&t=1m05s & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUD0M0S6zjY&t=2m30s
The first, I do not see working all too well: it is mentioned that Mr Coates - who that fellow shown there is supposed to be - snipes things from Big Ben for several days on end, I doubt he would pick the exact same spot again.
The second would work rather well, in my view, however, and again points out how using the MP-London map may be about the best way to go about it, provided there is a way to clear up the interface for recording-purposes - there should be, if I am not mistaken...
A key problem with most of the trailers is that, while some scenes would definitely fit - N7-crew inside shuttle in the Earth-DLC trailer, for one -, they are somewhat too short...one could work around that by time dilution, I guess, but it is questionable whether that would truly improve things.

sadly .. admiral david anderson is KIA on the citadel ..
but the rest is true.
the catalyst scene is gone (the ending is simplified and makes sense) and edi and the geth are not among the victims.
