I really think the video's getting much better (maybe cut the animation for the dude clearing up the ruble just a little shorter) since the current one still shows he's picking up some object instead of just clearing a rubble to get someone out of that debris. Just after he smiles, cut to black and we'll hear an audio: "We found the Commander!" (or something like that. But what ever it is, it's better to keep the dialogue short) The reason why I suggest to cut in black for a couple of seconds it's because I think it'll be somewhat jarring if the character said something but his lips isn't moving, imho.

And maybe make the video sequence a bit shorter? Just to fit in better with the Citadel's surrounding / atmosphere and the overall MEHEM pacing.

Btw.. just asking here, is it possible to mod your crew's casual outfit? I thougt since the Memorial scene is somewhat close to a funeral, you'd tend to dress up a bit to pay your last respect to the fallen. idk, just a thought.


From what I understand, if you change an outfit for the memorial scene, it will be changed for the entire game. There was talk many pages back of changing the Alliance crew members to their dress uniforms but I can't remember what the verdict was.


I think the verdict was "that's a question for another mod"   

I know if such a mod existed, Ash would never see that blue outfit again.  At least in my games :lol:


@wwinters99 : Well, if that being the case, my problem would probably be trying to play the game itself instead of just staring at my computer's screen showing Kaidan with his Alliance formal out fit, LoL. A kind of problem I'd love to have, tbh.. Posted Image

Banshee crop is the next step. I had no time yesterday for doing it.

Ok, ok!

I will cut it a bit at the evening. The dialogue is intended to be performed at Hackett scene. He is staring at a monitor (or something) and hearing the soldiers on their comms. Think that this scene is thought to be included on a larger video (MEHEM), so, it will be cut on pieces and put between other scenes.

I'll try to upload two videos for version 4.

Thanks for the 0.02. BTW! Post it on the colaborator thread (see post 1) to mantain Mr Fob up to date on contributions ^_^

I will require explosion sounds, swords, gunfire, machineguns, grenades, reaper voices, sniper sounds...

This will be the hardest part. Has anyone a source for this ME FX? :pinched:

It's not much Andersons face as it's hard to see as it's more the outfit, which only Anderson wears. You could say that is the Storm Liutenant though. Would go with the accent.

Don't get me wrong, is the same voice for all characters, in the final version I'll get some help for all the characters, sounds for shots, reapers and explosions.

As ever, all criticism is welcome.


The montage is not bad at all but:

- there are a couple of shots that are taken from previous cutscenes of the London battle... try to mirror them so that they won't look immediately ripped off from other sequences. Is a simple trick that can do miracles combined with a good montage like this.
- There's not some way to make the colours of the various sequences more omogenous? Like some colour filters... I use those a lot in Photoshop... there's not any equivalent of those in video editing that could work? Just asking my know-how of video-editing is close to 0 xD

Also another suggestion is to cut right before the marine picks up the helmet. Just before so you get the smile. Simply because Shepard did not have his/her helmet, nor is her/his helmet Alliance, it's N7.

Finally got a Youtube video up for the alternate soundtrack. Hope you guys enjoy it: changes are from 5:27 to 10:11 (though the soundtrack is lagging a bit in the video. It works fine in-game).



I will probably make an updated version in two weeks, along with an entirely different version later on.

I always wonder, is it possible to put Sam at the wall scene if you romanced Liara? She is there if you romanced Sam(duh) or VS but not Liara and it just feels strange. Like would it be possible to put Sam in Liara's spot if Liara is not there(similar to how Sam goes to VS spot)

No body. Liara goes to her spot, which is beside Steve. Which would be a great place to put Sam as that spot is not taken if you romance Liara.

You know, I really like this song to bits, fits the season as well...^_^

Having that said, you should reconsider whether letting it play throughout the whole length of the pre-slide section would not be more appropriate, too; it is nearly the same length as the Suicide Mission-track, so I can definitely see it working. As nice as the cheering-part of "End once and for all" is, I can see this track work just as well, if not better here.

Thanks for the reccomendation. Will probably do that in the next version. One question though: I'm pretty new to audio editing. How can I alter some tracks so that they sound similar, but not out of place? I use Audacity, and I initially wanted to do exactly what you said. However, the part of track I wanted to use was already used earlier in the mod.

Everyone wears their default outfit at the scene. However texmod retextures on the outfits work.

This is clearly just for those who want to see Shepard live and be reunited with his crew.  This for those who want a Disney ending.
The ending lacks the appropriate emotions, as is evident with improper tones of exclamation of characters (namely Joker, and I understand why, as the modder took audio files from elsewhere and put them in--a lot of work, and I can respect that, but it doesn't flow well and creates a hollow feeling).  
I also love how everyone talks about the plot holes created in the original endings (even after the extended cut) and ignores them all for this ending.  This mod completely ignores the hints and lore the entire game was building to (especially with Leviathan and the mention of their AI), and removes choice COMPLETELY (lack of choice was a major criticism of initial endings; now it's completely removed and no one complains) simply because people got what they wanted: Shepard lives, reunited with crew, reapers destroyed.  
A Disney ending.  And fundamentally, that's all everyone really wanted.  And I'm convinced that's where the hate came from.  I'll admit the initial endings were vague and generated a lot of questions, but with the extended cut, it provided just enough hope and answers to make it fine. Great even.  
And just because most of you can't handle an ending that isn't a Disney ending, doesn't mean it was ever a bad ending.  I wanted to see Shepard and co. together and happy as much as anyone, but with a foe as formidable as the Reapers, any reasonable person can see that realistically it is not going to end well. 

God forbid Bioware show a little insight into the motives of the reapers.  Do you realize this ending doesn't touch on that?  God forbid they try something unconventional.  

This mod doesn't even explore the potentials of the indoctrination theory--it does the absolute bear minimum happily ever after ending and the lot of you feel warm and fuzzy and rejoice.  It doesn't deserve that.

My respect goes out to those responsible--they clearly have a lot of passion and put a lot of work and thats fine if they want to make it their own alternative.  But lets not get crazy here: it is not a better ending, even if you preferred it to happen. Objectivley, it just isn't.   And though it is true it was not done by a full production team, it affects its quality.  It just does.

I think what bothers me the most is the sense of entitlement a lof of Mass Effect fans have.  You are entitled to nothing.  It is 9 months after the game came out, and 6 months after the EC, and I STILL can't read anything about the series I love without some jackass whining about the endings or how terrible the game is.   I especially love it when people claim its the worst ending in history; an absolutley laughable notion.  Here's a short list of games with objectively worse endings than Mass Effect off the top of my head:

Gears 3
FF7
Skyrim
Bioshock
Every first-party Nintendo game ever

Mass Effect is not your story; it is not your creation.  It is interactive entertainment, and a product.  It either caters to your interests or it doesn't.  It owes you nothing and your lucky Bioware takes your feedback at all.  

Yes, you are all entitled to your opinions.  You are all entitled to hate the originals and love this ending.  And I'm entitled to my opinion about the endings and how they're better, and to my opinion about your opinions: that they're wrong and stupid. 

So feel free to enjoy this ending all you want.  But lets not pretend that you like it cause its an ending with more substance : you like it better because you like simple happy endings where the crew lives happily ever after.  You like it better because you can't handle controversy, you can't handle despair.  You can't handle gloom and the unconventional.  And you can like this one all you want, but lets not pretend it's actually better.


True on so many levels.

MEHEM is a shoddy hack job that does little more than streamline the ending(making it something that's been done a million times over) and completely **** the Reapers' character development.
