As there is no PS3 version, it is currently impossible for The Grey Nayr to see his Shepard in the MEHEM. How is his opinion affected by this limitation?

(and I apologize to The Grey Nayr if you are in fact not a he)

I am a man. Just for the record. Nayr is my real name, Ryan, spelt backwards. The grey part is a DA reference.

No offense meant, I just normally try to avoid pronouns because you never know.

The montage is not bad at all but:

- there are a couple of shots that are taken from previous cutscenes of the London battle... try to mirror them so that they won't look immediately ripped off from other sequences. Is a simple trick that can do miracles combined with a good montage like this.
- There's not some way to make the colours of the various sequences more omogenous? Like some colour filters... I use those a lot in Photoshop... there's not any equivalent of those in video editing that could work? Just asking my know-how of video-editing is close to 0 xD

-Done, take a look on the next version.

-I've make an alteration on the next version to the Calypso people. They are red-filtered to make them enter the beam tunnel that is actually in ruins. The iluminated version of the officer getting sheppard out of the rubble, is done "in the crucible panel chamber" That's the motivation of this coloration.

It's not much Andersons face as it's hard to see as it's more the outfit, which only Anderson wears. You could say that is the Storm Liutenant though. Would go with the accent.

Also another suggestion is to cut right before the marine picks up the helmet. Just before so you get the smile. Simply because Shepard did not have his/her helmet, nor is her/his helmet Alliance, it's N7.

Done.

About the officer, I'm not sure of how can I make him "andersonless".

The next version is mixed with MEHEM original video in order to make an idea of what the final result could be. No music on the rescue scenes, guys.

MEHEM is a shoddy hack job that does little more than streamline the ending(making it something that's been done a million times over) and completely **** the Reapers' character development.

Good thing you do not have to download it then, isn't it?
I would also like to remind you that breathing is something that your organism did tens of millions of times through  respiratory system, and yet it does not mean that trying to be original and attempting to get oxygen through other systems that are very far from head but still have contact with the endvironment - is a good idea.
Trying to be (Deus Ex) original in cliche Mass Effect type of story is indeed similar to breathing through you know what.
This is exactly why it worked so well.
P.S
Shoddy hack job?
Reaper's character development?
I sense artistic integrity overload here.

Yeah being on a console is a good thing for once.

Also I've looked up Deus Ex's ending. The only similarity is that you're presented with three possibilities and asked to choose, or you can walk away. The choices themselves, the context around them, and the results of said choices are completely different.

Also yes, the MEHEM leaves the Reapers as one dimensional cartoon characters who pass themselves off as villains. Hell, even Skynet in The Terminator had a reason for why it commanded the machines to destroy organics. It was a weak one(programming error made it see all life as a threat to it, and it was programmed to eliminate all threats) but it was something. In this, the Reapers have no purpose, no reason justify their existence even to themsleves, regardless of whether or not you or anybody agrees with it. Unless of course you still acknowledge Leviathan, which supports the official ending.

But know this: If Mass Effect 4 is a sequel. Your ending wont be acknowledged on save import, mine will.

I'm sorry pal, I can avoid telling you this, but: "Reaper motivations are things you can't comprehend". As stated on Ender's novels, there are species that are beyond comprension. You can't negociate with them, you can't understand them, and of course you can't fight against them. So, reapers were good as they were. Evil giant space monsters beyond you pitifull human mind. With no offense ;). You are only a bacteria with a f***ing giant gun (crucible) and no idea of what it does.

As player of Deus Ex 1 (not revolutuion), the endings are the very same. You can control machines, destroy machines or mix with one.  Not even this. Asimov's foundation novels present the same exact problem. Double original. Dryan Karpinsy's finals were original. Read the first script about Dark Energy, and tell me. Reapers were trying to avoid the final extinction of life by preventing mass effect fields abuse, and they let you decide at the edge of their destruction: "kill us and die eventually, or became one of us and help us to save galaxy from its inevitable fate. You can kill trillions, but if you don't choose us, you will eventually murder ALL the life" Thats original to be fair.

And for your notice, sheppard can DIE in this mod.

So, if you want to discuss something not regarding this mod that is not "I don't like because X" (you already did), or "You can Improve Y", or "I've detected a bug" or "How I install this masterpiece" i suggest you to leave to not make an offtopic.

To end my post, I will give you a notice: Bioware will do what they want with THEIR story (not yours, they have stated this multiple times), and in mass effect 4 their will start with their own decision where you probably romanced liara, chosed sinthesys, and were a human male soldier soul survivor. As THQ did with Dawn of War Retribution.

When you have many variables, the lore brokes. That's the reason of why they could make the ME2 and ME3, because ME1 and ME2 endings were SIMPLE.

Cheers and respect. If you MP me, we can make another thread and discuss this to the infinite.

THIS! This is so much of what I wanted in my ending. I'm not sure if its been covered (sorry but 75 pages is a lot to search through) what happens if your love interest was Thane as he (sadly) dies.

The mehem mixed is uploading at 26% right now xD

In the next two hours, when is finished.

The non-mehem will last a bit more as my compilation of the video broke a few minutes ago.

Next version will have some cuts in order to fit with MEHEM. Less dialogue, some scenes have other coloring in order to represent tunnels...

The worst part is the banshee kill. It has some letters that are impossible to remove as they are in the middle of the image, so is possible that I remove it forever in the version 5.

The best friend will most likely be Garrus, Tali, or Liara.

Sorry if I'm dredging stuff up here but I saw this quoted and would like to address a couple of points from my own point of view.

Averphier wrote...

Mass Effect is not your story; it is not your creation.  It is interactive entertainment, and a product.  It either caters to your interests or it doesn't.  It owes you nothing and your lucky Bioware takes your feedback at all.

Yes, you are all entitled to your opinions.  You are all entitled to hate the originals and love this ending.  And I'm entitled to my opinion about the endings and how they're better, and to my opinion about your opinions: that they're wrong and stupid.

So feel free to enjoy this ending all you want.  But lets not pretend that you like it cause its an ending with more substance : you like it better because you like simple happy endings where the crew lives happily ever after.  You like it better because you can't handle controversy, you can't handle despair.  You can't handle gloom and the unconventional.  And you can like this one all you want, but lets not pretend it's actually better.

First of all the bit at the end that covers people not being able to handle certain situations/emotions such as despair, gloom etc. Thats more than a little bit of a sweeping generalisation there. On a personal level I've dealt with plenty of gloom and despair enough to be able to cope with the original endings.

On a less personal level I've read plenty of stories with more controversial endings than the original, I don't actually see how the endings are controversial in the slightest beyond the catalyst being and ill concieved plot device that allowed Bioware to shoehorn in the control and synthesis endings.

As for it not being my story well no I didn't come up with the characters setting and general plot but we as the players were allowed a reasonable enough amount of interaction that each persons Shepard was more or less unique and understandably we have developed some degree of ownership of the character we played.

I know Bioware doesn't owe me anything however I think many players who, like myself, set out on a mission to unite the galaxy and destroy the Reapers felt more than a little short changed after we had united the Geth and Quarians only to have that fact ignored by the Catalyst and then also lose EDI because ...umm...yeah reasons.

Also having a possibly alive shep but with no conclusion to our characters story was just balls, if this was the last installment of sheps saga then i want a solid conclusion to my characters story.

The reason I like this mod is not because its all happy and fluffy, its because to me and my Shep, who united a galaxy  and had war assets out the wazoo, it makes sense. We went above and beyond and with the combined might of the galaxy we toasted those frakking Reapers, not without cost. but we did it. Its not quite the triumphant "New Hope" ending I would really have liked but it certainly now, for me, makes a whole lot more sense.

First adaptation is out!

Consider the comments on the video, I will go to bed, right here is 3:11 AM.

Storm team starts at 3.45

Red parts are Calypso team entering the tunnels. EVERY scene is a mobile part that can be re-sequenced in another order on next version. If you like the scenes "like they are now", I will wait for MrFob, put the SFX on their place, and let him re-syncronize the BSO and scenes on the order he considers good.

What about coloring? Anyone has another banshee kil scene on london scenary?

It was a hell making the mix. Opinions, please?

Um, its a little choppy, not sure about that new voice over and the mix of multiplayer footage, cutscenes and cinematics. Not quite my cup of tea mate 10 out of 10 for effort though.

That is the same feeling that I had. I almost bought the new DLCs (Omega and Leviatha). In the end, I managed to resist as I remembered its not going to meke any difference in my gameplay.

I'm thinking of how awesome it would be if MrFob was secretly flown to Edmonton to consult on an official MEHEM dlc.

I can dream, can't I?  :wizard:

I'm sorry, if you review previous posts, the voice (mine) is only for scripting purposes. It has to be redone, and of course it has to be treated in order to make it a "radio voice" in some points. On the other hand, there will be four voice actors on the multiplayer scenes: storm leader (probably me), calypso leader (male), and pilot (female if I cant find one), and the sword guy (male)

Is still making its first steps, this is the first version. Integrated by MrFob, with audio and with music it probably win a lot of awesomess. By the way, I'll be grateful (to you, and everybody) if you can make a critic about concrete scenes of the footage to fix, replace, or even remove them.

The idea is give MrFob materials to make the missing scenes of the rescue.

Edition: Version 4 non-mehem mix here

Something I was thinking ages ago, but MrFob's mod has made me remember... I'd originally thought the Synthesis ending would be acceptable if Shepard lived. Is it possible to mod just the end sequence so that Shepard is shown alive putting Anderson's plaque on the wall with the various "canon" sequences?

Good work and great effort, Ironhandjustice.

I do believe, after viewing your video, that the contrast between cutscenes and gameplay footage to be too jarringly discorded. All the other scenes look believable and possibly great with some further tweaks, but the gameplay footages just look too out of place. Perhaps you should just cut them out. I don't think that'll affect the overal effect much.

i think the most important factor is, that only some blink moments of shepards rescue are shown.

if we put in lots of moving pictures who are clearly from multiplayer trailers, this mods looses credibility.

i am thinking of another approach to solve it. do you remember the flashbacks from the normandy crash site? something like this .. if we could tell the story of shepards extrcation with flashbacks, underlayed with panicked com chatter, it is not only easer to du but still stylish in its execution.

just my 2 cents.

the video and idea are awsome and brought me to this thought.

You know, this is something down the road that we might want to consider incorporating once other bugs are kinked out, but...

It would be incredible if this mod also showed off our war assets in action using clever editing. I'm unsure if we're capable of creating If-Then programming using ME3 Explorer, but if we are, then we could create a plethora of different movie files that get called up depending on which war assets you've accumulated throughout the game, that are shown during the "Let's disobey Hackett's orders!" scene.

For example, jump to 5:14  in this video . It makes it seem as though Jack, Jacob, Grunt, & Zaeed are all fighting in the final battle using clever editing. It would take time, but if if-then programming is a capability of ME3 Explorer, then we could create multiple movie files with a bevvy of scenarios in which war assets are seen fighting. Or maybe at least scenes in which we could see some ME2 squaddies again.

Just my two cents.

Right now MEHEM just replaces tons of stuff that loads in a sequence, there isn't if-then right now. (I could find out what's stopping that from being a thing, if you'd like - I've never tried sequence modding like MEHEM so I don't know the finer details,)

It would be possible simply to offer an optional add-on and make several versions and edit it for manual installation. _Most_ people who install MEHEM are probably going to be the kind who saved every character in the suicide mission, rescued the rachni, got quarian/geth peace, etc simply because that whole narrative makes sense with the ending, being you know, happy, instead of the world all dying and burning. Then you would just design it with the idea of being able to easily "extract" elements for a player who killed off the rachni, for example and offer the "dead rachni" version, which would be the same minus the rachni war asset scene.

That's what I'm planning for my current Stargazer project, although that has a lot less variables.

Ok, I can give it a try. I mean, I can cut off the banshee scene, the sword jump, and the machinegun scene.

Before doing it, can you please tell me if there is anything else that is "out of place"?

I will let be:

-Inside the gunship scene
-Going out gunship
-Calypso enter the tunnels
-Sword guy takes the sword and charges the husk, then the reaper reinforcements arrive (same scene). The charge could be erased and text reduced to "They are sending reinforcements"
-Rubber scene
-Hackett scene
-Landing gunship
-The last standing cinematic
-The brute scene
-The second sword scene killing the ravager
-The retreat and grenade scenes
-The evac scene
-The sniper
-The gunship scene
-Take off (missing)
-The guy defending himself

Please name scenes that you believe that should be erased, and I make a "short" version to see how it works. Take in mind that there should be enought lenght in order to make the narration possible.

The "quick" scenes should be placed between action space scenes in order to make the situation tense. I mean, when you make two story threads alternate, the spectator always want to know what is happening in both. It this case:

-How is it going for the normandy?
-Is the ground team still figting?

Does this works for you, guys?
