Some improvements:

A lot of the voice clips should be cut out, because they don't really add much and the lip syncing, as well as the tone, is off.

Example: The part where Shepard is reaching for the control panel and says "I'm not sure how to.... JOKER, GO!" sounds kind of awkward. It should be the original version of that scene, where Shepard says "I'm not sure how to...", collapses, and Joker calls Shepard's name.

But excellent work, especially with the ME2 theme playing. It might be enough to get me to play through the ME series again.

Hale actually manages a more appropriate tone with that line, as I found. I can see where you are coming from with that, however. For Sheploo, it should definitely be possible to leave the original line, could even be achieved with some reasonably simple tinkering.

Also, lip-sync or no, I find the lines to be fitting overall. They also add more "life" to the proceedings; Joker is a rather talkative person even in serious combat-situations. Attack-run on the Collector-base shows as much.

Something curious:

just did an update and installation repair, just to test the compatibility, the following happened: (a 3.77 MB chunk was reinstalled)

*Hackett's "Holy sh*t..." line still missing (expected that, CPT. Fob said he's working on that issue

*subtitles reverted back to vanilla, audio still as intended

up until Shepard crawled to the console, then something weird happened, the screen changed to white, the music began to play, yet no video appeared.

It was just Shepard standing in front of a translucent sheet of white (best way I can desribe it) in front of TIM's body. About 60 seconds later, a loading screen popped up and the second half of the video played. From there on it went normally (even the subs were as before) Shepard still appeared in their slightly messed up state, intact uniform and so on. LI hug happened etc.

Just wanted to tell you my observation. Thanks for reading and G'night.

Reinstall MEHEM. If you do a install and repiar via Origin it reverts ME3 (or at least parts of it)  to vanilla.

I already knew that, thank you. ;) just wanted to give an account of my observation.

Question here is: why does Origin consider only these 3.77 MB as damaged, would be interesting to find out, which files these are exactly and what is different from the original, maybe the "repair" could be prevented...

Origin does not show which files it replaces, exactly... (apparently some of it concerns the subtitles...)

ideas, anyone?

thanks...

If I had to make a guess "Repair" is basically Origin checking to make sure the files you have installed are equal to what it has on it's servers. It's a similar function Steam has, the "Verify game integrity" option.

As for the files replace, at least for me, the video files get replaced. This explains why the video goes dark but the sound is still going in MEHEM. Otherwise not sure. Fortunately repair is a manual choice so don't click it unless you need to!:D

Mr. Fob! You should so add the extended Anderson death scene to this mod!

A following link shows how it can be done, I think they did pretty damn well mimicking the words.

Great idea in my opinion. Damn shame creators have cut out these lines from the game as there was no real reason to do that. Putting them in would make Anderson's final scene much better. Though I wonder if extending an existing scene is doable.

Ia ME3 worth playing with this mod? Are all the other problems that it has still as noticeable? I'd like to give it another try but I need to be completely sure since I would be paying to get all three ME games for PC.

it depends .. wgat are your problems with mass effect 3 in general?

this mod only alters the endings. it cuts out the catalyst and the three original endings. imo, it is not a big deal, since leviathan and the core game only give you very vague hint to the catalysts existance, beyond being the citadel.

the end is basicly a big space battle, wich shows heavy losses among the united fleet and a shuttle extraction of shepard is hinted (it cant be shown atm). the memorial scene is replaced with a scene, that shows shepard placing andersons name on the wall and hugging his/her li/best friend. during this, the destroy epilogue from hacked is spoken.

no mod can fix the discontinuities, the extraction scene or the priority london nonsense.

watch the videos on youtube.

I've seen the videos but still, Mass Effect 3 has a myriad of problems that ****** me off at times, like auto dialogue, speaking to team mates only when they want to and not when I want to like in the past. The Fedex quests and all that, so yeah, with ME2 I mostly ignored any flaws because the ending wasn't bad at all. I doubt those things can be fixed by anyone other than BioWare but still I'm considering it.

You can get the trilogy on Amazon for $30. Mass Effect 1 and 2 alone is worth that price.

The MEHEM only changes the ending but I think that's a pretty big step towards redeeming ME3.

Harbinger speaking is actually my only favorite part of MEHEM.

Really wished the official team add Leviathan and Harbinger duking it out. I mean I can see a great battle between the two only to see Leviathan's fate but not after Normandy help finish Harbinger off. Would believe it takes place while Shepard is still being transported to the beam.

i think the endings are pretty happy. in one ending you keep everyone else alive and watch over them, in another you destroy the reapers and get to marry liara, in another you make edi a real girl and make everyone else live forever and hyper intelligent.

those are pretty awesome endings i think. i would like any of those.

Devil's in the details: execution and pacing can ruin the feeling of a concept that is at its roots happy.

There's a lot of power in even the most minor of edits. Five seconds can be an eternity in altering a mood. The reverse is true too, additional elements can drag down what is otherwise fine.
