I think eventually, implementing WVs installer is good because it will reduce the size of the whole mod quite extensively. However, I'll need to go through my files and list all the changes I made to any object. Since in my enthusiasm (read: stupidity
So I think in the meantime, Ironhandjustice's installer would be really cool. Ideally, it'd just be a .bat file which you can copy into the extracted MEHEM archive (should work with v0.2, right?) and run in order to conveniently install/uninstall the mod. IHJ, if you have the time to make a file like that without too much trouble, just post/send me a link and I'll post it in the OP and in the MEHEM project. I'd love to help more but I won't be able to do anything for another 2 weeks or so.
Thanks for helping out with this to the both of you. If we can get an installer asap and an upgraded version later, I think we'll make a lot of people happy.
Also thanks to everyone who answered questions here. I am not around more than once every 2-3 days atm so it's great to see that this thread can provide assistance for people. Thanks a lot guys!

1. @WV - how do you get to "nobody wants" an installer based on your approach from a dispute with IHJ over developmental pros and cons? -- i may only be someone else, but the last time I spoke to "nobody" they were still interested...
2. @IHJ - no one characterized your work as a "useless installer" - your words only - I am sure no one would do so. Also, while WV did say "my" installer in his last post, the original clearly refers to the ME3explorer/Texplorer team - so the implied e-peen issue should be completely off the table.
Point is there has been an astonishing amount of great work, creativity and collaboration in all these related threads - and clearly some work is going to be obsolesced to a degree - Salt's stand-alone mod switcher for instance may be superseded to a degree with the advent of texplorer -
maybe i'm out of line jumping in on this, so just consider this a view from the cheap seats...

@SE You are right, was a misinterpretation. Not a good day at work, I was like a Napalm can when I answered.
@WV As I said, bad reading+interpretation+being tired. My eyes are red right now but I will end this little bastard installer. If you want, I can give you the code as well. Just ask for it. I thought the same the first time I saw this tech, but is amazing. Is like having a reaper dreadnought gun on coding terms XD

Okay, so I was hoping to spread some joy by contributing to this great project and sharing an installer I made for MEHEM.
MEMEM v0.2 Installer by wavion (253 MB)
(a download manager is recommended)
IMPORTANT NOTE: Because this installer backs up your original Mass Effect 3 files, YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST 2 GIGABYTES OF FREE SPACE on the drive where ME3 is installed, OR 3.5 GIGABYTES OF FREE SPACE IF LEVIATHAN is installed. The installer will fail otherwise. It is also a good idea to make sure your Mass Effect 3 has been updated to the most recent version (via Origin) before trying to install this. You need a clean install of ME3 for this to work (you cannot have already installed MEHEM manually).
It is stand-alone, you can use it INSTEAD of the manual installation provided by Mr. Fob.
It installs in 2-4 minutes on my computer, depending on whether or not you have Leviathan.
Leviathan is automatically detected, and if it is the Leviathan patch is automatically applied.
It gives you an option whether or not to install the Geth slides.
Please see the readme for more details.
----
About Mass Effect 3 Updates:
Occassionally, Mass Effect 3 will receive an update, which will usually break MEHEM. But, if you used my installer it should be pretty easy to fix (unless they change the EC DLC or Leviathan DLC - this will require me to release a new installer version. Thankfully, they don't typically touch these files). I highly recommend setting your updates (in Origin) to manual to optimize the following process.
When ME3 gets an update, and you already have MEHEM installed via the installer, the best way to handle it is like this:
1. Run my MEHEM uninstaller (comes with the installer) to restore your back-ups.
2. update ME3 to the newest version (if your updates are set to automatic and Origin automatically updated before you were able to uninstall MEMEM, I also suggest running the Repair option in Origin to make sure all of the files are Vanilla)
3. run the MEHEM installer again
----
If you would like to see the source code (NSIS scripts), you can download it here (~5KB).
I hope some people find this useful. I will try to help if people encounter problems, but my time is limited and I might not be able to get to you quickly.
Thanks again MrFob for saving Mass Effect 3!

to all of you.
as soon as mrfob is back in action, he should tell us, what he needs. the tech-part is almost done and the mod works. i think it is time to polish the videos/sheps evac-request and may add additional dialogue if possible.
some things i heard:
ng+ - problems with the mod. is this still a problem? have you played ng+ games without any problems?
geth-slide - some people were irritaded by green-eyed geth
videos - need some polish and adjusted environment.
shepards evac request - sounds a bit strange ... shep is barely alive but suddenly speaks like nothing happened.
one aditional question to all the users of this mod:
what do you think of a mid-ems scenario, wherin edi and the geth die like in the original endings? .. this would add additional stimulus to collect the war assets and the high ems variant would become a real reward.

If it can be done, that would be a great.

the technical part should not be a problem - mid and high ems already use different files (if i remember correctly). the only things that would have to be changed are the slides, the memorial wall (putting edis name on the wall) and physically change edi back to javik.
this is more an artistic "problem".

This might seem strange but I like the option of having a mid-EMS ending but at the same time I don't actually want to see it during a game.
I like the possibility of getting a "bad" ending because it makes the "good" ending more rewarding to earn.
You, the player, are not guaranteed the happy ending unless you work hard to achieve it.
Am I making sense?

Agreed. Also the out of sync and variable volumed audio from Joker kind of breaks the sense of immersion. Please if you have a decent voice, unlike me, get in touch with the creator. Better yet all we need is people who can perform flawless voice impressions of ME VA's and them to record lines, should be easy right.
I actually kind of hope that the new DLC can provide some extra cutscenes for the final battle.

At any rate, I'll still give you all my installer, since having options/alternatives is usually a good thing:

I will host the file for now, but it'd be nice if MrFob hosted it with his other files and leave this link as a mirror.

Just wow. You are very fast, man.
Thanks and kudos for you. Mine has only the advantage of the reusability, but has the same functionality

Then, when Joker refuses to leave I was again cheering. That's the Joker that I knew said inside, "never again. Not this time."
I will tell you that the game was a hurdle for me to finish because by now I've become so irked at it and the bleakness of all it forces upon you at the end and the arguing I do with all the characters and Shepard. This time was no different because I hadn't gotten to that living Shepard. Now, I have. You saved the game for me. Sure, if I had one wish it would be that BW would wake up, get rid of the kid, apply some magic, and allow for a real fight that we can win well, win sacrificially, lose badly, or just plain lose with Rachni commanders and Krogan on dino back. But, absent all that, this salvages the most important part of the story for me.
The work you all did on it is evident and is so appreciated.
It's now my canon ending. Thanks so much.

I can't get involved in the development aspect at all of course, but merely wanted to add my support to the work you all are doing. I finally got to the end of my new and improved, ahem, MEHEM ending and it is a vast improvement. It feels great. My experience with it is that I forgot I'd read that Harbinger speaks and then when he does for the first time, I was like cheering inside.
Then, when Joker refuses to leave I was again cheering. That's the Joker that I knew said inside, "never again. Not this time."

who said that? mrfob is open to suggestions and criticism. just post your thoughts and viewpoints - everything can be discussed, as long, as we all keep it civil (what we are actually doing).
while i am not a part of mrfobs "staff", i provide help for people with technical problems and participate in discussions. i post points, that can (and imo should) be polished. we all do our part to make this mod great(er).
and yes .. this mod is a lifesaver. it cant fix the corny and simple mainplot but it makes the ending fitting and finishes the trilogy on a higher note of hope.
btw .. (mehem-)community. what about my suggestion about the mid-ems ending? ...

As I mentioned before, I'd like it, as an option for "failure" though only if it's feasible to add. Don't want to burden MrFob with too heavy a workload...

@Dr_Extrem: Yep, an update for the ToDo list is a good idea. Will just have to wait until I am back, I am afraid. Also, I've got the EMS issue on the radar but first I want to finish v0.3, Before I left I was testing how to introduce checls for conditionals properly in DLC so as soon as that (and some additional fixes) is done, it's something I want to look into but more on that after v0.3 is finished. Oh btw, I am
@ME856: Yep, I agree. Especially maleShep has this problem, femShep fits a bit better. Thing is, I am rather limited in my choice of voice sample. If anyone can suggest better ones, we can change it. I don't really want to do custom recordings for this. We did that for MEEM where there was no other choice and while you can get good voice actors, you'll never really get it to sound just like the original (not with the equipment I have acces to anyway). New battle scenes would be nice but I would hesitate to repeat stuff that was in DLC already. While there are some repetitions in the videos now (where it was unavoidable), I tried to take most battle scenes from the low EMS videos because this mod is really meant for a high EMS scenario and in that case, you wouldn't have seen these battle scenes yet in your play through.
@3DandBeyond: Thanks for your post. eloquent as always! If you have ideas for changes and improvements, no matter how ridiculous they sound, just post them. Worst case scenario: It turns out we can't do it yet or no one wants to. Nest case scenario: We get new ideas no one ever thought of yet and we can improve things for everyone.
@Vic7im: Thanks. Musical suggestions are always welcome. I don't have audio on the computer I am writing this on but I'll take a look as soon as I can. From the title it looks like the music from the end of ME1. Just a little anecdote on that, before I chose the suicide track for the scene, I really wanted to use the ME1 theme there (or something closely related to it. Something like the "becoming a spectre" track with the very iconic ME theme. Unfortunately I couldn't find a piece that had the right length and timing and there are many constraints on that in this particular instance since it is still hard (read: impossible) for us to directly control music timing. Also, I am not that familiar with audio software and I am not at all any kind of composer. I hope that at some point, we can find a way to make a track based on the ME1 scene to fit in there ourselves, There seem to be a few people with the expertise interested but I asked them to wait for now because there is/was a strong possibility that the videos would get re-edited (which would obviously change the timing for the music). Given my skill level in video editing, apart from some minor things, I'd have a hard time to significantly improve them at this point but we already have some good suggestions (e.g. from Ironhandjustice). This has to be handled carefully though in order to make things better rather than worse (which is of course subjective in any case). Right now, all I can sya is that I don't consider the videos final yet. When I am back at my place 9n 2 weeks, I'll make an effort to look through the last couple of weeks of posts and suggestions and get the ball rolling there.
@Burnsie86: Thanks_ Always good I am not the only crazy person around
@Iakus & Canny3000: YAY! I think 6k is not bad, given the time it's been up so far and the fact that there are a couple of mirrors. Thanks to everyone here for keeping this project alive and active!
