Rogue Specialization. - 2 Cunning, -2 Dexterity, -1 Willpower.

- Buy Out. Activated ability. Small AOE. Convert enemy units to friendlies using your gold. Amount of gold spent depends on enemy levels. Works on all enemies except Elite Boss units. Converted units die within a short time.

- Budget Cuts. Activated ability. Target friendly units (including units converted by Buy Out) only. Sacrifice the HP of friendly units to recover some of your gold and mana.

- Day 1 DLC. Activated ability. Large AOE. Teleports all targeted units back to where they were 5 seconds before. Replenishes your gold.

- Multiplayer. Passive ability. You can refuse engagements with enemies (they back off, the fight is considered won for plot purposes but you don't get XP or gold) unless the enemy group consists of at least 4 units.

- Stifle Creativity. Sustained ability. Reduce the movement speed, accuracy, and damage of units within a short radius by a percentage. Affected targets can use no abilities except basic attacks. Friendly fire possibe.

- Aura of Incompetence. Sustained ability. Reduce threat generation by 95%. Upkeep cost is 50% mana.

Shadow Seeker

A rogue version of the Templar? Interesting! Also rather appropriate, since we know we have Seekers like Leliana who are roguish sorts. Lots of defensive stuff there. I'm be a bit wary of the last skill, though -- stacking above 20% aspd is a lot already, and if you can stack it 5 times, it'll have to have a very short cooldown (bad given the damage amount as well) or a very long duration (also bad). Also doesn't really fit the theme you have going there, but... ah, anyway. :innocent:

Definitely would be cool to see a bit of the Seeker's art, since the Seekers are not Templars.

A proper shapeshifting specialization would be nice. I'm not asking to become a dragon (although I wouldn't say no to that), but flesh them out more and make them useful compared to DA:O. More forms, abilities, etc.

I do think shapeshifting would be cool, but there's a rather distinct problem with Shapeshifting: unless your shapes are elementals, every shape is redundant. Even if they are elementals, balance is difficult because you have to be more useful than the Mage form (else you wouldn't use the form). That just makes Shapeshifting really hard to do. You could have temporary shapeshifts to allow overpowered options, but that's a problem for tankish shapes. Shapes also have to be kinda small, else you won't fit in some rooms (pretty well rules out mature dragons, for example).

Here is one I thought up for a rogue. Loosely using the OP's format.

"Night Hunter"

I'm a little confused as to what the theme of this is. You have damage bonus against anything that isn't a humanoid warrior, which is odd, and you're talking about spell interruption on a rogue. Overall, it seems a bit like a hybrid of Duelist and Assassin -- is that about what you intend?

Well aren't you a walking encyclopedia of jokes! Woud you please give me links to another five (or however many times you consider enough for a joke to be "done to death") "EA Supervisor Specialization" jokes which were made before mine. I'm very curious to see if they were done better.

Oh and tell me a joke of your own while you're at it. You seem to be an expert of jokes.

The format was unique, but the content was overdone.

Sadly, my humor is completely in the tone of voice. It would be lost over text.
While I feel this is detracting from the purpose of the thread, I mentioned earlier that conflict kept threads alive. Well played.:D

Was aiming for something that hunts the unnatural like a Witch hunter, demon hunter, etc. The spell interruption was more or less the same description as of one of the Force Mage talents. The knockdown/knockback would be the important part for the rogue.

The bonus damage thing was aimed at spirits, demons, mages, etc. But then I remember werewolves do exist and didn't know how to classify them as anything other than a 'beast'. Didn't intend the class to get a boost to spiders, dogs, bears, wolves, etc. I guess you could word it. 'x% damage versus magical/fade related beings'.

For the classes role; I intended something that would be really good at boss fights. It would have damage scaling off the enemies health, a threat remover, stun utility and a steroid. So think of a not as bursty Assassin (due to no constant passive steroids) with about half a Duelist's utility.

Maybe I'll build a skillset later, but I kinda want a blue mage-type character. Can use enemy-exclusive abilities. Sort of a feral spec, can use Overwhelm as a humanoid, imitate demonic powers.

I'd like a specialization specific to background. Orlesian Noble, for example.

Divine Right [Passive] - To defy the will of an Orlesian Noble is to defy the will of the Maker himself. Foes attacking the Nobleman suffer a 10% chance of mysteriously dropping dead in combat. Voice of the Maker increases the chance to 15%.

High class [Activated] - The Nobleman viciously looks down on those of lesser status. Deals 10% damage to Raiders, Smugglers, Thieves, and other refuse. Scandalous increases damage by 5%. Disgraceful allows the ability to affect other low-class or low-born enemies.

Fashionable [Activated] - Lavish attire distracts attacking foes decreasing their chances of landing a hit on the Noble by 10%. Tailored Attire further decreases enemy accuracy by 5%.

Patronage [Activated] - The Noble contracts a skilled Rogue to fight at their side during combat. Summons a stealthy Dual-Wielding Rogue matching the PC's level. High Placed Patron increases duration of the summon.

High-Nobleman [Passive] - The Nobleman is well respected among the upper class with an untouchable reputation. Stamina Regeneration +10. Patronage Rogue Summon does 100% more critical damage. High class does 20% more damage.

I would love to see a return of the spirit warrior, or an arcane/battlemage, and many of the ideas posted on this thread were very well thought out, here is my attempt:
Sorry I am not very good at this but I was thinking for an anti-magic rogue maybe a treasure hunter:

Arcane Hunter/Relic Hunter:
(Rogue)

Years of hunting for artifacts and mystical
relics has left you with an unparalleled knowledge of the arcane, using ancient
secrets and magical talismans you strike at your foes, unprepared for abilities
lost to the sands of time.

+3 Cunning
+10% magic resistance

Abilities:

Black Lyrium Dust:(activated) Throw rare black lyrium
dust found in ancient tombs into the eyes and lungs of your enemy.
100% chance of stun
50% chance of turning target enemy
30 spirit damage/s to target enemy
15 second duration

Black Lyrium Cloud:(upgrade) the dust is thrown in an
arc, poisoning those within the cone.
Infects all enemies within a selectable arc
30 second duration

Hyper-vigilance:(passive) Years of evading traps (and
rival treasure hunters) has left you with uncanny reflexes.
+10% chance to evade any attack

Magical Immunity:(sustained) You have studied arcane
techniques and can a combination of lost sigils and pure willpower to resist
all forms of magic.
+100% immunity to all negative buffs and spell effects
All magical attack damage is cut by half
Constantly consumes stamina

Arcane Entropy:(activated) using an ancient Tevinter relic,
you absorb health from a nearby enemy
50 damage to target enemy
+40 health

Spirit Trap:(trap)  After falling for this trap and narrowly
escaping with your life you researched its construction in depth to recreate
it.
1 trapped enemy at a time
+150 damage to target enemy
Enemy cannot move for 15 seconds
Lasts 60 seconds (only one trap at a time per character)

Improved Spirit Trap:(upgrade)
Can trap upto 3 targets, trap is larger in diameter

Curse of the Ancient Dales:(activated) while
exploring an ancient Dalish ruin you discovered this ancient curse.
Target is attacked by all characters nearby
Target enemy armour and resistances are halved
Duration 30 seconds

Forbidden Aura:(Sustained) your knowledge of the
arcane and long term exposure to ancient relics has left you with a mysterious aura
about you
All enemies within a radius of you have 20% lower defence
and every time they attack you, they have a 15% chance of disorientation, a 10%
chance of being stunned, and a 5% chance of turning on their allies

Arcane Covenant:(activated) your time hunting relics
and searching for lost secrets has left more than a few fade dwellers owing you
favours, you call upon some to rend your enemies apart.
250 damage to each enemy in a target radius and are stunned for 5 seconds

I was thinking of a magic specialization for rogue that focuses on crowd control and aoe. I will use numbers but I wont think of them too much, Just the general idea. The point of this specialization is to add mobility and aoe capability not only by cleaving attacks but being able to set up a aoe combo from mages. It's pretty much the opposite of the assassin specialization and it favors a high damage party since it offers enough damage mitigation while amplifying the damage of the party.

Da2 format.

Spectre
Spec bonus: Every point of dex adds 5 stamina

Shadow step (passive): The spectre steps into the shadows and appears behind his target. (greated range than backstab)
Psychic Scream (upgrade): All enemies around the target are feared for 2 seconds

Abyssal Taunt (active): Spectre marks a party member (including himself), all enemies attack the marked member for 6 seconds.
Disorienting Visions (upgrade): Enemies attacking the marked member deal 25% reduced damage.

Haunting Mist (sustained): A mist surrounds the spectre, every enemy inside the mist takes 30% of the damage the rogue deals to his target. While this mode is active every attack costs stamina.
Chilling Embrace (upgrade): Critical hits cause the enemies afflicted by the mist to take 15% increased damage.

Curse of Agony (Active): The spectre creates nightmarish visions in the mind of a chosen enemy, causing any allied attacks to deal damage on the cursed enemy as well.

Haunting Visage (Passive): Increases defense by 20%, magic resistance by 10%, critical chance by 10%.

It might need a little balancing, but this one sounds interesting.

Well warrior has Reaver and mage has Blood Mage, so I suppose the rogue could have something of the sort.
